Chapter 3- Flashbacks

-Aliauna’s POV- *signals flashbacks* I jump onto my bed and shove my head into my hands. After a few minutes, there's a knock at the door. “Ali… Ali, it's me. Can I come in?” came Tyler's voice. “Go to hell!” I scream and let out all my aura to make sure he leaves. *Flashback* “You seemed pist off,” Kayleigh chuckles. I lift my head from my hands and see her sitting in my chair. “What are you doing in here?” I ask. “I'm hiding from Mateo, he's in a loving mood and won't leave me alone. But seriously, what's wrong?” “It’s Tyler, he says that I’m too involved in all this! That I’m not focussed enough! That I need to think about what’s at stake, and he doesn't want me to get hurt again. Tyler doesn’t know what I went through, he doesn’t understand that I can't just let it go!” I begin sobbing. Kayleigh gets up and comes over to me. She wraps her arms around me and holds me. “It's almost been a year, and we still haven't caught him.” I wasn't talking about Tyler anymore, and Kayleigh knew that. “We will get him! I promise you that. Nothing or no one can hurt you anymore.” *End of flashback* Kayleigh always knew what to say, but she was wrong about one thing, there is something that can hurt me; losing someone close to me. A knock at the door brought me out of my thoughts. I was about to yell at whoever it was when I heard Mateo’s voice. “Ali, You don't have to let me in, but I'm here if you need someone to listen” I get up and walk over to the door. Opening the door, I'm surprised, he was pretty upset with me. “Can I come in?” He asks. I nod my head and move to the side. Mateo stands at the foot of my bed and I move to sit on my bed. I hang my head waiting for him to say something, I know Alphas cower at nothing, but I don’t feel like an Alpha right now. “Aliauna, don't ever hang your head or cower in front of anyone.” Mateo says sternly, “also, I would have punched him.” he chuckles the last part. I stifle a little laugh and lift my hea, looking him in the eye. “That's better.” “You remember the day we became a team?” I asked, “You were so cocky! Kayleigh was gonna kick your ass, then you locked eyes. She loved you so much.” *Flashback* Kayleigh and I walked into a conference room that had two men sitting at the table. The two looked like brothers, the older one had short bleach-blond hair and was very muscular. The other one had short dirty blond hair but, he was skinnier, both had icy blue eyes that sold them as brothers, plus their matching smiles. ‘We are getting our own team today!’ Asuna yips. I take my seat at the head of the table and Kayleigh sits beside me. Leaning over, she whispers in my ear. “The blonds cute, eh?” I blush and smile, “shut up!” Just then, a boy with chocolate hair and eyes walks in. He seems to be about 5,12” and like the blond, he has a muscular build. “Is this the kick-ass she-wolfs team?” He asks. “I'm Mateo.” “If he undermines you, I’ll kick his ass,” Kayleigh whispers in my ear. I smirk. Kayleigh looks up and the two lock eyes. “Mate” they whisper. *End of flashback* “Ali… Ali” Mateo brings me out of my thoughts. “Sorry, I was uh… never mind.” I mutter, “wanna watch a movie?” “Sure.” He says. We lay in my bed, watching TV for a while. At some point, I drift off to sleep. -Kyle's POV- “You will never be half the person, let alone the agent she was. You will never replace her!” My new team leader snarled in my face before storming off. ‘What the hell?! You promised, you promised Noah!’ Typhoon, my dragon, yells at me before blocking me out. *Flashback* “Dude, did you hear about the she-wolf getting her own team today?” My best friend Noah asks. We were walking through the hall of the supernatural headquarters on our way to a new assignment. “Ya, I heard. I'm not too sure it's a good idea though, I mean she's only 14.” I tell him. “C’mon, it's a great idea! She's the top of her class, she finished her team leader training two years early, and she beat all council members willing to fight her,” he retorted. “Noah, she hasn't even shifted! The earliest a wolf can shift is 15, and that is only if she's a born Royal. The royal pack was destroyed years ago, no royal was left alive.” I whispered the last part. He sighed, “just because she hasn't shifted doesn't mean she's not capable.” Noah walked away before I could say anything. We walked in silence for a while before I realized Noah sniffing the air. “Noah, what is it?” I asked. “That scent! Strawberries and Vanilla, it's my-my-m-mother's scent. Every time I smelt it, I got so happy.” “But I thought your mother was dead?” “She was, she is, since I was three.” “Let's follow it,” I say, and we sprint down the hall. Noah stops in front of a conference room and peaks through the window. In the room are four people. Two of them look like brothers with matching eyes and smiles, the other two were talking to each other. The first had long brown hair, and her eyes were emerald green, the second had brown hair with highlights, and her eyes were pools of chocolate. The second whispers something to the emerald-eyed girl, and she blushes. “That girl, she-uh, her smile, her hair and those eyes. Those are my mothers. That wolf is a royal.” Noah said. “What? One, are you sure they're the same as your mothers? And two, how does that make her a royal?” I asked. “My father was a rogue, my mother was a pack wolf, when they met, my father pretended to be so in love. She left her pack and became a rogue, so she could be with my father. But once I was two, my father took me and rejected my mother. My mother's old pack wouldn't let her rejoin, she went to the royal pack seeking refuge. When the crowned prince laid eyes on her, he made his father accept her into the pack. He was her second chance. They were King and Queen a year later, and she was pregnant again. My mother died during childbirth. The child was a girl, next in line for the Alpha title. Six years later came the Royal downfall, I thought she died during it, or I would have looked for her. That girl in the conference room, that's my half-sister, Aliauna Malloy, the heir to the throne. Don't tell anyone, and if you ever meet her, be nice.” I sat there taking in all the information I was just given, “I won't tell anyone and of course, I promise!” I tell him. Noah starts to walk away, confused, I ask, “are you not gonna tell her?” “Not yet,” he says before continuing down the hall. *End of flashback* I’m sorry Noah.
