The Legend of the Mystic Wolf

Alpha Kalen’s POV *Dream* I was in the forest on my pack, Blue Horizon’s territory. I could smell the sweet aroma that belonged to my girlfriend Sally pulling me further into the forest. I followed her sweet scent of hyacinths until I saw her at the clearing near the pack boarder. I made my way over to her and gave her a kiss on the lips. She started kissing me back while she wrapped her arms around my neck and I slid my tongue across her lip to gain access and she gladly gave it to me and it slowly turned into a fight for dominance. Suddenly, I felt a prick in the back of my neck. I quickly pulled away from Sally and realized that she was crying and holding a needle. “I’m sorry Kalen, but you need to focus on finding your fated mate and the only way you can do that is with me out of the way.” She said. “Sally, I’m not interested in finding my fated mate. I’m happy with you. I love you Sally and I know that you love me too. Please stay with me.” I told her. Sally stood there crying and shaking her head no. I went to reach out for her, but suddenly I started feeling weak. My body felt like it was shutting down. “What did you inject me with?!” I growled. “I injected you with wolfsbane laced with silver. I had no other choice. I needed to be able to leave without you following my scent. I already mindlinked your father Alpha Mark to tell him of your location. I’m sorry.” She cried. Before I could stop her I fell to the ground in pain. I watched as she crossed the boarder and I heard a painful howl in the distance before darkness enveloped me. *dream end* I woke with a start drenched in sweat. This damn nightmare is going to be the death of me. It’s been 5 years since that happened and I still have that nightmare. I take a look at my phone and see that it’s 3 in the morning. I get out of bed and walk to my attached bathroom to splash some water in my face. I took a look at myself in my mirror and ran my fingers through my curly brown hair and stared at my reflection. I’m 6’3” with a muscular build and olive skin color with a tattoo on my chest, it’s a picture of a little girl petting my wolf Onyx. I got it for my sister Alayna, who died when we were just kids. I put my hand on my chest and I hear Onyx whine in my head. “I miss her too buddy.” I tell him. Werewolves get their wolf at the age of 13. My sister passed away at the age of 14 due to a rogue attack. That was 10 years ago. Since I’m awake, I may as well get some work done. I became the Alpha at the age of 21 and asked my brother Brett to be my Beta, he was 20 we are now 24 and 23. Brett and I are 5 months apart in age, which is typical for a werewolf pregnancy. Brett is 6’ muscular build with green eyes and black curly hair and the same skin tone as myself. He takes after our mother the former Luna Ashley with her green eyes and black curly hair, whereas I take after our father, the former Alpha Mark with his brown hair and eyes. I decided that I needed a shower before going to work. I turn on the shower and start getting undressed. Once I’m undressed, I hop in the shower and start thinking about the girl I believe is my mate, Dallas Anderson. She is currently 19 years old, but her 20th birthday is 3 days away. She’s beautiful. She’s got a caramel skin tone with straight jet black hair and emerald green eyes. She stands at about 5’3”, and a curvy build. Her wolf Hallie, is the size of an alpha wolf, which is very unusual for being of a gamma rank. Her wolf is a midnight blue color with a white face and golden eyes, the most beautiful wolf that I’ve ever seen. I grab my body wash and lather my body and wash my hair. Finally once all rinsed off, I step out of the shower and wrap my towel around my waist and head towards my room. I put on a green fitted T-shirt, black jeans, shoes, grab my keys and finally make my way to my office 2 floors down. Once I’m outside my office door, I quickly unlock it and make my way inside and pull out some paperwork. “This is going to be a long rest of the night.” I said to Onyx and he huffed in agreement.
