Chapter Three

MARIAM'S POV

The bus dropped me off at my university's back gate in round 7: 10am.

I made my way to the campus and headed to my lectural hall in the marketing department building.

I'm pursuing a BTech in Marketing, and I'm currently in my second year, first semester.

I got to the hall and it was already filled with students.

That's why I don't like coming late for lectures, because if I step inside right now, everyone will look at me like I'm a f*****g celebrity or an important person.

I hummed softly and stepped in the lectural hall and boom,

Everyone is looking at me,

'ugh.'

I groaned internally.

I spotted my best friend in no time, because she was seated in the second row, near the front.

Typical Seyram to sit in the front when she knows clearly that I hate sitting there.I guess, this is a payback time.

I hurried over to her and sat on the empty seat beside her on the right.

I put my phone on silent, then hang my bag straps on the side of my chair, after removing my handout and notebook.

I turned to Seyram to see that she's writing something on an official sheet. she did not even look at me when I sit beside her, I guess she's still pissed.

"hey, has the lecturer come already" I asked

" yes, he gave us the question and went out not long ago, just before you came in " she said, still writing and did not even look at me.

"and you did not even bother to tell me, time is already tickling." I said in annoyed tone.

She turned to me, her face showing how annoyed she is right now, and asked " how long have you been here"

" I'm sorry ok, but please I need the question." I told her, I know she won't be mad at me if I say sorry.

She sighed in annoyance, then passed me her notebook, that has the question and continue what she is doing. I think that might be her work since I can't see clearly what she is writing.

We're having Behavioural Aspect of Marketing this morning, and the question said

'Every customer is a consumer, but not all consumers are customers.'

It's a 10 marks work.

I took an official sheet from my bag and started my work.

It's almost 30 minutes later, when the lecturer came in and collected everybody's work. He said was late because he was having a meeting.

He taught us about the general nature of consumer behaviour for 2 hours before calling it a day.

His course is a three credit hours course, so he's supposed to teach from 7am to 10am but favored us a little.

Now it's 9:40am, just a few minutes left for break time. I didn't get the time to have breakfast so I'm hungry.

I turned to Seyram, and she's scrolling through her phone.

"Seyram" I called

"mhm" she acknowledged still scrolling through her phone

"It's break time, let go have a brunch I'm hungry since I didn't eat anything this morning, but I don't have money so you're paying for both of us" I normally told her with a shrug

She paused what she's doing, before turning to me with a frown on her face.

"I also don't have money, so we're fasting today" she said in displeasure and continue with her scrolling.

"What!, I'm not fasting" I exclaimed,

And now everyone is looking at me, making me feel embarrassed. I'm uncomfortable with drawing attention to myself.
