Chapter seventeen

Jessie's POV

After my apology and our little heated section with Ryan, things have turned for the best for now at least. Our relationship is turning towards a positive direction and Tricia and I finally took that vacation and I can confidently say it's working in my favor we have gone out and visited a lot of resorts in the radius, I had planned to go abroad or even oversees to relax a bit but Tricia insisted to keep it local and I didn't do much to object to the Idea. lucy asked to meet Tricia to I had arranged a meet-up for later in the evening today and I can't wait to see how they get along. James and Ryan are also coming and is Tom. I'm not sure about Brandy and Astrid but they said they would pass by and I'm okay with that I just wanted to do a little outing for us all to be in one place and enjoy ourselves even for a few hours. I do hope it works out pretty well though. it was around eight in the evening and people had already started to arrive

" girl this is a party you!" said Vanessa Josh's wife

" yeah, I hope you enjoy it," I said and proceeded with making sure everything was in place I wanted this to work out perfectly and for everyone to have fun after a while everyone had arrived so I took the opportunity to introduce lucy to Tricia on Lucy's demand though, I don't get why she is so eager to meet her I don't tell her much about anything. I still don't trust her much

" Now that everyone is all settled, let me introduce you two," I said as we sat by the pool " Lucy this is Tricia my best friend" I stated " and T this is Lucy, my secretary," I noticed Lucy's face morph into an unrecognizable expression but turned into a smile in a split second. Maybe it's because I addressed her as my Secretary, but that's what she is.

" nice to finally meet you, Tricia," she said with excitement

" you too," Tricia said and turned to me. "I want to swim, let's go change our outfits," she said while dragging me then shouted "see you around Lucy"

" That was rude" I scolded with a half-smile

" I don't trust her, I don't like her and you stay away from her," she said in a firm voice still dragging me towards my room

" Okay, but why though?" I questioned

" do I need to have a reason? " she muttered and I c****d a brow. " she looks like a caning woman on a mission can't you see?" she is right there is something off about Lucy maybe I should keep a close eye on her

" well, the more reason to keep her close don't you think?" she seemed to be thinking about it

" fine but don't put yourself at risk in the process,"

" I know Trish can we go back down now?" I said as we had already finished putting on our bikini and shorts. We went out and Tricia insisted we lay low and watch for a moment at first I thought it was just ridiculous. she kept telling me to look out for Lucy and I'm trying but she didn't do anything wrong yet and they had just met but then I found out movements weird she seemed to have been arguing with someone on the rather violently but that's not our business we shrugged it off and decided to mingle with the crowd. I started searching for Ryan and when I finally spotted him I approached

" mm looking yummy" he commented then wrapped his arms around my waist

" well, I was planning to swim you want to join?"

" no thanks I think I'll just sit by and watch" he declined

" oh homeboy is scared of the water?" Tom teased picking him from

" no I just don't want to get wet"

" oh yeah?" I asked contemplating my plan as we were now standing by the pool

" off cause why else?"

" I think someone is scared of water" I laughed making funny faces at him

" no, I'm not" without a second thought I pushed him into the and dived in right after

" you didn't!" he yelled in disbelief and then started splashing water at me and I swam trying to get away from him but he came right after soon enough the pool was filled with people and we were all having fun. then we decided to race and see who is the best swimmer first we started with the ladies; Tricia can first she's so fast and swims like she is a sea goddess, mermaid or something. I came second then, Vanessa almost everyone participated except lucy she seems uncomfortable so I make a mental note to approach her later. We were now watching the guys and you could see James, Ryan, and josh trying too hard each wanting to finish first. Ryan won by a split second, people were cheering and got the chance to go speak to Lucy.

"Hey, girl, what is the problem you look passive? why aren't you having fun like the rest of us?" I asked concerned that she might not be feeling well

" it's nothing I just don't feel like swimming or anything" she replied in a low sad voice

" Are you sure?" I asked I could sense she was holding back

" I don't think your friend likes me," she says and I don't say anything I'm not a fan of people talking against my friends on I wait to see where she is taking it " I mean the way she just shrugged me off like I was nothing and dragged you away. I feel comfortable anymore I think I should just leave"

" I think you're thinking too much about it I'm sure she didn't mean it like that, why don't you hang around and have some fun? " I tried to persuade her she seem to be thinking about it

" Okay fine, I'll stick around for a bit, is that Vanessa?" she asked " I haven't seen her in a minute, she looks so sexy after giving birth. ill go catch up with her see you in a bit," she said then left. The girl sure does know how to change. moods so fast maybe Tricia was right, there is something about this girl so I stay back to watch her a bit and I'm surprised at how she moved from being Ill sad to a cheerful and chatting girl giggling with the group she's with, which makes me wonder if I know my secretary as much as I claim to.

" I would pay a fortune to know what's going on in that pretty head of yours" Ryan whispered in my ear, I hadn't heard him approach must have been too absorbed in my thoughts that could not notice my surrounding change

" Nothing much, where is everyone?"

" they have gone inside, it's kind of getting cold outside," he said handing me a towel

" I think we should go inside," I tell as he wraps his arms around my waist

" I think we should sneak out for a bit do you mind"

" not at all, where are we going?" I asked as he was leading me to the car

" There is something I want to show you, but we have to hurry or we'll miss it," he said and we drove off I was waiting anxiously to see what he wanted to show me. then I realized were had just entered his driveway sometimes I wonder how he got such a big house, not that he doesn't get paid well he does but this is a monster it's almost as big mine. his furniture is nice and masculine and modern

" well, come on hurry he adhered me up the stairs and into a bedroom the balcony

" oh my god this is beautiful," I said as I watched the most amazing sunset I've ever seen, the sky turning a bit red and the sun setting into the tall Mountains and the birds singing an enchanting magical song

" do you like it?" he asked curiously

" I love it, I could watch this all-day"

" well, I'm not in a hurry unless there is something urgent you have to get back to?"

" no, not at all I think we could stay here for a while, why haven't I seen this before? " I asked as it was not the first time I had been there

" at first, I was not sure if I wanted to share it with anyone then when I was I didn't find the right time to bring you here so when the opportunity presented itself I decided to take it. I'm sure people are too busy to notice that we are gone"

" Okay I just want to stand here and enjoy the view until it's no longer there, I hope you don't mind"

" off cause not, you can stay for as long as you want. I'm also open to other services if you won't just say the word " he winked at me

" Ryan!" I scolded and smacked his then he started to laugh

" Why are you so shy?"

" shut up, I hate you, now take me home"

" okay if you insist"

when we got back we found everyone sited on the dining table waiting for diner to be saved

" well look who decided to come back, we almost filed a missing person report" Tom teased, and everyone cracked up

" it's fun to get away sometime you should try it"

" mmm I wonder what you two were doing being gone for so long" he kept pressing on

" Some of us are about to eat we don't need to know anything of these things" Astrid protested

" I bet it's because you don't get anyone to sneak you out!" he mumbled playfully

" guys can we just eat?" grumbled Josh and everyone got back to eating. After a while, Tom started laughing again

" I think I should take him home, he must have had too much to drink," Ryan said

" I think we should all start heading home now give the girls time to catch up," James said and went to give Ryan a helping hand. After what seemed like forever everyone cleared up, it was only Tricia and me so we decided to bed early
