THE BILLIONAIRE’S REVENGE BRIDE

Arabella Laurent has spent years building a secret file capable of destroying Adrian Cross—the billionaire heir whose family she believes ruined hers.

Then she breaks into his private archive.

Adrian is already waiting.

Instead of exposing her, he makes her an offer that should be impossible to refuse: marry him.

His succession is under threat, and marrying the daughter of his family's greatest enemy would silence his rivals, strengthen his position, and prove that the decades-old Cross-Laurent feud is finally over.

For Arabella, the marriage offers something even more valuable.

Access.

She accepts the contract intending to uncover Adrian's darkest secrets and finish the revenge her family never could.

But Adrian has secrets of his own.

He knows his father left behind unexplained evidence. He knows Henri Laurent—the man blamed for betraying his family—once contacted him. He knows the original scandal has holes.

He just doesn't know the whole truth.

Neither does Arabella.

As husband and wife, they begin investigating the same buried mystery from opposite sides. A vanished company. A missing ledger. A dead mother. A disgraced father. A photograph that should not exist. And evidence suggesting that both families were manipulated long before Adrian and Arabella were born.

The closer they get to the truth, the closer they get to each other.

Every argument becomes tension.

Every act of protection becomes dangerous.

Every moment of trust threatens the revenge plan Arabella has spent years building.

Then Adrian discovers the Revenge File.

He doesn't rage.

He simply asks:

"How long have you known you could destroy me?"

For the first time, Arabella realizes the man she married to destroy may be the man she cannot bear to lose.

But someone has been guiding them toward this marriage from the shadows.

Victor Kane never forced Adrian and Arabella together.

He only made sure they had enough reasons to believe marrying each other was their own idea.

And when love finally becomes stronger than revenge, Kane turns their deepest secrets against them.

Because the real question isn't whether Arabella can destroy Adrian.

It's whether she can trust the man who has every reason to betray her.

And whether two people who built their marriage on revenge can survive the truth about why they were brought together.

She married him to destroy him.

He married her because he needed her.

Neither expected to fall in love.

And neither knows who chose their marriage first.

Chapter 1: The Archive Room
The archive room smelled like money — cold, filtered air and the particular hush of a building where nothing important ever happened by accident.Arabella Laurent had been inside it for six minutes. She'd budgeted eight. Her fingers moved over the second drive, cloning the folder marked *M.C. — Private* while her eyes stayed on the door. Cross Holdings' east archive was supposed to be unreachable without a level-four badge. It had taken her four months to get one. It would take her four minutes to disappear before anyone noticed the badge had been used at 11:47 p.m. by an employee who didn't officially exist yet.The drive blinked green. Copy complete. She exhaled, and that was her mistake — the half-second she spent being relieved instead of being careful."You're using the wrong cable," a voice said from the doorway. "That one throttles at eighty megabytes a second. There's a faster port on the left side of the terminal."Arabella didn't jump. She'd trained herself out of jumping a long time ago. She straightened slowly, drive still in hand, and turned to find Adrian Cross leaning against the frame like he'd been invited. He wasn't in a suit. That unsettled her more than the suit would have. Just a dark sweater, sleeves pushed up, like a man who'd been woken from something and hadn't bothered to perform for it."Mr. Cross." She kept her voice level. "I can explain.""You don't need to." He stepped inside, and the door sealed behind him with a soft electronic click that she felt in her teeth. "I know what's on that drive. I know how long you've been building your case. I know you have three witness statements, a set of scanned company filings from a firm that dissolved twenty years ago, and a very good forged reason for why you were hired into my compliance division under the name Arabella Rousse."Her pulse did something complicated. She let none of it reach her face."Rousse is my mother's maiden name," she said. "Not forged. Borrowed.""Semantics." He came closer, and she made herself hold her ground, made herself remember that running would be a confession she hadn't earned yet. "You've spent five years, Arabella. Building a file that could take apart my company, my board seat, possibly my freedom, depending on what you think you know about my father. That's not the work of someone who wandered in here by accident.""No," she agreed. "It isn't."Something in his expression shifted — not surprise. Something closer to respect, which was worse, because respect from Adrian Cross was not on any list of outcomes she'd prepared for."Then let's not waste each other's time," he said. "You came here to destroy me.""Yes.""Because you believe my family destroyed yours.""I don't believe it." Her voice cracked on the second word, just slightly, just enough that she hated herself for it. "I know it. My father is in a cell because your father's lawyers buried him under paper he never had a chance to fight. My mother died believing it. I watched her die believing it."Adrian didn't flinch. He didn't do the thing men in his position usually did — the practiced sympathy, the hand half-raised like he might touch her shoulder and think better of it. He just watched her, the way you'd watch weather rolling in, calculating what it would cost and when it would hit."I know," he said quietly. "I've known for months. Security flagged your badge access in April. I could have had you removed that week. Escorted out, quietly, no press, and you'd have spent the next five years trying to find another way in, and probably failing, because I would have made sure you failed.""Why didn't you?""Because I needed to know what you knew." A pause. "And because I have a problem, and you may be the only person alive equipped to help me solve it."She almost laughed. "You want my help.""I want your access. Your instincts. The fact that you've spent five years learning to read financial fraud the way other people read novels." He tilted his head slightly. "In six weeks, Cross Holdings has a succession vote. My father's will requires a married primary heir to retain full control of the company, or the board redistributes his shares among four cousins who will gut it for parts within a year. I need a wife, Arabella. Not a real one. A convincing one."The room felt very quiet. Somewhere below them, the city kept being a city, indifferent to the fact that she was standing eleven feet from the man she'd spent half a decade preparing to ruin, and he was proposing marriage like he was requesting a signature on a delivery."You're insane," she said."I'm precise. There's a difference." He held her gaze, and for the first time she saw something underneath the control — something tired, something old. "You marry me. You get full access to the private family archive — the real one, not the one on that drive, which is missing everything that matters. You get six months, a year, however long it takes, to find whatever you're looking for. And I get a wife who has every reason in the world to keep my enemies from getting close to me, because she wants to be the one who ends me herself.""And if I refuse?""Then I walk you to the elevator myself, I report the badge breach in the morning, and by noon there won't be a compliance department in Meridian City that will hire you under any name." His voice didn't rise. It didn't need to. "I'd rather not do that. I think you're the most interesting problem I've had in five years, and I don't believe in wasting interesting problems."Arabella looked down at the drive in her hand — six minutes of work, five years of preparation, all of it suddenly smaller than the offer standing in front of her."You're not doing this for the company," she said slowly. "There's something else."For just a moment, something crossed his face that she couldn't name. Then it was gone, filed away behind the calm."Marry me, Arabella," he said, "and I'll tell you things about your father that will change everything you think you know about the man who destroyed his life."She should have said no. Every trained, careful, five-years-in-the-making part of her said *no, this is a trap, walk away, find another door.*Instead she heard herself ask, "What kind of things?"Adrian's mouth curved — not a smile. Something colder and more honest than that."The kind," he said, "that will make you very glad you didn't leave that drive behind."He held out his hand. She didn't take it. Not yet.But she didn't walk away either — and they both understood, standing in that cold archive room at midnight, that the not-walking-away was its own kind of answer."You came here to destroy me, Arabella," he said again, softer this time, almost gentle, which was somehow more dangerous than anything that had come before it."So why shouldn't I give you the perfect opportunity?"
