Chapter Three
Eloise picked the phone and dialed his number again, this time it rang but stopped immediately, she looked up and saw the maidservant holding the plug of the landline “the boss is busy, he won’t pick” the spoke dropping the wire.
“How do you know he won’t pick? It was ringing” she asked with a frown on her face. “Because I told her I didn’t want to be disturbed” the voice Eloise had been longing for, she had a big smile on her face as she turned to face him “Marcus!” she called and ran to hug him “That’s a new one” he smelled her hair and ran his hands through it, closing his eyes he wished the moment wouldn’t end.
“Why’d you ghost me? I’m mad at you” she left his embrace and folded her hands in akimbo
“I’m sorry, I’ve been busy”
“Too busy that you sent your EA and driver to pick me from the hospital? Marcus it’s been four days since I left and you’ve called only once” Marcus smiled seeing her angry face for the first time was beautiful, resting on the door he just starred at the goodness in front of him “I’m talking to you. Why did you abandon me?” she hit him. Marcus was brought back to reality
“Well, like I said earlier if you were listening; I was busy” he held her cheeks and patted it
“Is that the reason you left me at the mercy of your maid, she makes me feel like am in jail.
Marcus laughed as he sat down on the sofa, he whining was amusing and beautiful at the same time “Elisabeth!!!” he called
“Yes boss” she ran in looking nervous
“Elisabeth, you know how much I hate repeating myself. Eloise is your boss, your only Job is to serve her. Now till she leaves this house, whatever she says goes. You take permission from me if you both are going out. Have I made myself clear?” he asked with so much authority in his voice.
“Yes sir” Elisabeth replied
“Now go and get my bag from the car” Elisabeth gave Eloise a look and left
“Your bag?” Eloise asked as she sat next to him on the sofa
“Yes my bag. I’ll be staying with you for a couple of days”
“Why?” she asked, curious as to why he was here and deciding to stay
“Well, for one I know you’re bored. I want to keep you company and I want to clear my head. Besides, I know how much you miss me” he smirked knowing how weird he sounded.
“And yet you’re already on your phone. Marcus if you’re here to spend time with me, you’ll have to put away the gadgets. I wouldn’t want to share your attention with those” looking up at her
“Yes boss. Got it. I’ve turned it off. Now you have me attention” he spoke moving closer to her, leaving only a little space between them, he gazed at her lips, starred into her eyes and wished she was his. They both starred at each other, Marcus moved a bit closer and Eloise swallowed her saliva and held her breath.
“Your bags are in the room sir” Elisabeth’s voice broke the tension in the air. Marcus sat up immediately and Eloise took a deep breath. “Em... I’ll go take a shower” he stood up hurriedly and left.

“Are we visiting Aunt Beatrice Tomorrow?” Sarah asked her dad. Sipping from his cup of coffee, Daniel didn’t know how to answer his daughter’s question
“Yes dad, are we visiting? I miss Aunt Beatrice, most especially Marcus” junior spoke supporting his sister
“Do you really miss him or you miss the gifts he gives to you” Sarah countered
“That’s not your business, busy body”
“That’s enough you too” Esther shouted. She walked over to the dining table and sat down.
“Good morning mum” the children chorused
“Morning to you too. Good morning Daniel” she responded to the children’s greeting and greeted her husband.
The table became silent, breaking the silence Esther spoke “No one is going anywhere. You both came home for a short break to spend time with your father and myself. There will be no visitation to anyone. Now continue your meal in silence”.
Daniel looked at his children and signaled them not to complain. They made eye contact and smiled leaving Esther confused, not minding them, she continued her meal.
