chapter 11

‘Sounds perfect. Be right there.’ Goldie said. “I’ll be right back.” And off she went. While Felicia and Niomi stood there. She said, “Sounds like you found your calling Felicia…” “Yeah, it all has to do with my dream I had. I really want to tell you now because it was amazing, but it would be rude not to tell Goldie at the same time. How about we eat together. Like a picnic in the back where our party’s going to be? You could meet me back there and bring food and drink with you guys. I’m going to be out there awhile.” “That’s understandable. I’m happy for you and Goldie. You’ve each found your calling and I haven’t a clue.” Niomi said sadly. “Niomi. You will. Why don’t you wander around town and see what you see. I have a question. Where did you guys get this wolf?” “I carved it very carefully for my mother.” “Really??? It’s extremely beautiful and I wish I had one of my own. How did you do it without breaking it?” “I don’t know I just knew how it needed to be worked.” Niomi answered. “Is there a rock place or place that does carving?” Felicia asked? “Well…no. I got the rock from a rock shop in town.” “Then I have a suggestion that might just be your natural talent, and you don’t even realize it yet. What if you started a Rock Carving business. You could take orders for now maybe your parents have a shed or space in the garage that you could set up your tools and such.” Felicia suggested. Niomi thought for a moment. “But what about the rocks to start me out?” “I bet if you talked to your parents about a space, they’d help you find one or build one. As far as rocks go. Talk to the Rock store. See if they will supply you with some to start you out and you can give some of them back for them to sell at a percentage which either you or you and your dad can negotiate over. Also, if you can’t find a space. Maybe if Alpha is ok with it. You can have my old house. Work rooms upstairs. Dads, office as an office. One of the upper rooms as a workroom, one room is a storage area for finished carvings. One of the others for unfinished ones. Downstairs living room could be where you sell the stuff. Might not be as full to start. But it would get there. Kitchen could be where you meet for consultations for commissioned pieces. Your dad would probably help with pricing and such. Any furnishings you don’t use in the house you may sell. I give you, my permission. Or break down and reuse, but it’s yours if you want it to do this…” Felicia said excitedly knowing deep inside that Niomi would be very good because she could feel the energy that was put into the carving. Niomi thought for a moment. “I like it. I’ll talk to my parents first. Then have dad go with me to talk to Alpha about the house.” She started to get excited about it. “I’ve always loved working with stone. I don’t know how I just know how to work with the different hardness and softness of certain rocks. Like Selenite is a very soft rock and it has to be thick in order to work with it properly.” “See you’ll be great at it!” Felicia said. Just then Goldie ran up and spoke. “Here. Juniper says it’s yours. She thinks you’ll use it a lot. Plus no one else has asked for any patterns like this so she worked it up real quick making it big enough for three or four people to sit on. Five if you get creative.” “Thanks girls you’re a life saver. Niomi I’ll return this wolf to you as soon as I’m done with it.” “We’ll see. Ok?” I’ll talk to you later. If I am given your house. I’ll let you go back through and see if there’s anything you may want before stuff gets sold, ok?” “Thanks Niomi. I love you girls.” Felicia admonished and ran off. Cloth and wolf in hand. “Hey, Niomi, what did she mean her house? What happened?” Goldie questioned. So, Niomi told her what happened, and Goldie stood there stunned. “That’s amazing. I have an idea you could give Felicia for her birthday at the party. What if you carved her, her own Moon Goddess representation. You seem to know what’s going to come out of the stone it seems.” “Also, a great idea Goldie. I must go. I need to talk to my parents and see if they’ll help me buy some stone and negotiate some more stone. Then I need to talk to Alpha. OH! We’re having a picnic lunch where our party is going to be with Felicia. She’s going to explain everything. We are, in charge of getting food and drink and we’ll meet her out there.” Niomi said just before running off herself. Goldie shrugged and ran back to the Juniper’s place since everyone else was off doing things as well. Sounds like everyone’s dream was coming reality thanks to Felicia. She couldn’t wait to finish the cape and find out what Juniper had in mind. Plus, she couldn’t wait for lunch. She had to get finished a little early so she could get to the kitchen. Maybe just mind link the cook. So as not to cause stress. ‘Um, cook? I have a request, it’s Goldie.’ ‘What can I do for you, Goldie?’ ‘Felicia has some big thing she wants to tell Niomi and I, but she wants to do it in the back garden and asked us to bring food and drink. Do you think you could put together a decent lunch for us? She’s doing an important meditation this morning. Niomi is off to start a rock carving business. She’s going to take orders first she says. And I’m going off to my apprenticeship with Juniper.’ ‘The seamstress?’ ‘Yeah, Felicia helped me realize my dream. As it was her cape I was working on. She’s also behind Niomi’s very possible Rock Carving business because of a moonstone wolf she made her mother. It seems Felicia is helping a lot of people.’ ‘Of course I can! Goldie, you come round lunchtime, and it’ll be sitting on the counter by the door.’ ‘Great Niomi and I will be by to get it!’ When Felicia ran off with her tools in hand she slowed down to a walk, to slow her beating heart and take some deep breaths. When she got to the back garden, she saw Lissa and her mom standing nervously waiting for her. “Hi. I had to get some items myself so that’s why it took a little bit longer. Follow me.” They all walked down the steps to the grass. Felicia closed her eyes and let her instinct take over. “Let’s go this way. There’s a tree we need to sit under. It seems important.” When they got there, she spread out the heavy velvet blanket. Surprised at the thickness and heaviness of it. She marveled at how no one wanted this as it was beautiful. Lissa and Joy looked at each other. Felicia gently put the stone wolf down in the center. “May I have the candles? Joy handed her four white candles. Which Felicia then put in each of the true navigational directions. Which amazed the women who were standing by. As Felicia was just doing this like this wasn’t the first time and had done it a million times before. “Now what was brought for incense?’ Lissa spoke up saying, “Rose petals, Jasmine, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Ylang-ylang which we had to get it from cook because she sometimes uses it as a food seasoning. But there’s other forms than oil.” “Ok, Jasmine first.” Which she put in the middle. “Rose petals next.” She put to the northwest. “Sandalwood please.” Which went to the southwest. “Frankincense please.” Which she put in the northeast spot. Then she turned to Lissa and said, “Please put the Ylang-ylang in the southeast position. Then the three of us need to sit in a triangle around the wolf and jasmine. But first using the lighted candles I must light the incense in a certain order.” As Felicia went around the blanket lighting candles, then lighting the incense in this order. Jasmine, Rose, Sandalwood, Frankincense, and finally the Ylang-ylang. Joy and Lissa had done a little googling to figure out which ones would help fertility and help with meditation. The five they brought either did one or both. Felicia had Lissa sit by the Ylang-Ylang oil, then her and her mom sat down making a triangle with the wolf and jasmine in the middle. Felicia started, “Everyone put your hands in your laps palms up. Start taking slow deep breaths, continuing to breathe slowly. Oh moon Goddess, you told me my pack would go on. I believed this to be the Forest Pack. But I found someone I need to help and to help her I need your help. Luna Lissa of Forest Pack has had trouble with pregnancy as she’s had a few mischarges and a lot of no shows so to speak. I am trying to help her through meditation. She helped me break through my wall. Let me help her breakthrough this wall of problematic pregnancies. I ask humbly for your help. Healing help.” Felicia finished then they sat there breathing while Felicia and Azella melded, her eyes opened, and they were eyes that were green and the bright blue of Azella’s. Together they howled. One long one for Lissa and another one for Ben. As Pups always takes two. When they were done howling, they looked right at Lissa. They spoke together, which was a very different sound. “Luna Lissa.” Lissa had already looked at Felicia when she started to howl. “Luna, you are a good strong Luna for this pack. Pull on that strength, it’s not just for the pack but for what is ever needed. I pray blessings on you from Selene herself. Blessings on your eggs and womb. Blessings on the Alpha’s seed. He too has strength he can pull from the same way you do. You both are good for this pack. Be patient. Continue, to meditate, keeping stress levels down. All will be ok.” With that Felicia’s eyes returned to their normal color with a tinge of blue still in them. Felicia, who was feeling a bit woozy, leaned towards her mother. Who collected her in her arms holding her like she did as a little girl, letting her gather her strength back, as werewolves healed fast. About ten minutes later Felicia sat up and was a little tired but able to speak and move. Joy asked. “You ok now? I thought you were going to pass out.” “I’m ok mom. I just needed to lean or lay down, and I couldn’t lay down on the burning things. If I do something like this in the future, I’m putting all the burning things in the middle. Candles can still go on the four directions. That’s a must and I’ll sit in one of the cross directions. That way if I need to lay down due to loss of energy I can.” Felicia said with a smile. Lissa didn’t know what to say yet, so she just stayed silent. But Joy had questions. “Felicia did you know that at one point one of your eyes were green and the other was the color of Azella’s? Also how is Azella?” “Huh? Why are you asking about Azella. Hold on I’ll ask.” ‘Hey Azella, you ok girl?’ ‘Yeah, like you I’m tired. That was neat what we did. I think we bonded maybe melded is a better word. It was like we were one, not like one like people usually are with their wolves.’ ‘We need to talk about this more because that was very different, I want to analyze it a little. Not a lot just enough to understand it more.’ Azella made a noise and then drifted off to sleep. “Yeah mom, she’s ok. She’s sleeping right now. She’s tired too.” “I don’t doubt it.” Joy said in awe. Lissa finally spoke up. “Felicia. Are you aware what exactly you said, when you and Azella melded?” Felicia just shook her head. “You called my name using my title, I was already looking at you the moment you and Azella melded and began to howl. Twice. Then you opened your eyes and looked right into my eyes. I felt something when you started speaking.” “Really what did I say?” “You said, ‘Luna, you are a good strong Luna for this pack. All will be ok’. I couldn’t take my eyes off you or speak till now, It’s not like I was unable to speak, it was more of a speechlessness. But I will meditate. I will tell Ben about what happened.” “One last piece of advice. Meditate together, ok? It’s a good stress reliever for both of you.” Felicia advised. “Thank you dear.” Lissa said thankfully. At that time the three got up blowing out the candles and incense. Luckily everything was either in a bowl or on a dish, so the blanket did not get burnt. As the two women walked away with the incense and candles, they were discussing a possible gift basket of healing tools. Candles incense sticks with burners as those would be safer. But a basket full of natural healing remedies that she could use in the future. Maybe also some options to werewolf colleges that teach natural and scientific medicine. As it was obvious to them that the natural healing came from her grandmother and the technical and scientific thinking came from her mother. Felicia gathered up the blanket and the stone wolf; going over to where the small pond was with a built-in waterfall. It was obvious that people came here to think and contemplate whatever was on their mind. She stayed there sitting on her blanket that she only unfolded enough for her. Thinking on what happened. She was near the party space as the pond was still a part of the garden, Azella was still asleep so they couldn’t talk yet. And she wished she could sleep as well. She looked at her phone. Saw that she still had almost two hours to meet up with her friends just a few yards away. So she unfolded it one more time so she could lay out on it next to the water, as the sound of the waterfall was soothing. She turned her phone up and laid down to sleep as well. Mick happened to look out and see her sleeping there. Curious he went to find his mate. Who he found sitting in their kitchen with a cup of tea. “Hey, babe. Felicia is asleep on what looks like a blanket by the pond.” Mick said in confusion. “What happened?” “She’s asleep. I’m not surprised. She did something wonderful today. For one her and Azella melded into one, howled twice, then spoke to Lissa. As one. I don’t mean a normal one. One eye was Felicia’s green one. The other eye was Azella’s bright blue one. Did you hear the howl?” “I thought I did. I’m guessing one was for Lissa, and one was for Ben?” “Yeah. Go watch our little girl while she’s asleep. Azella’s asleep too. So, they’re vulnerable. Not that they aren’t safe in the garden. Just do it to put a mother’s heart at ease.” Mick smiled and made his way down to where his daughter was holding a book so that he had something to do while she slept peacefully. When Goldie arrived, at the seamstresses she was done with the mind link. When she walked in. She looked at Juniper and said, “Sorry a lot has happened in the last few minutes.” “Sounds big. Let’s get this cape done and then you can tell me, then we’ll work on Felicia’s gift. Sound good?” “Perfect. Because it has to do with Felicia. I want to up my game a bit once you hear what she’s done.” So, they worked through the morning and finished the cape. While gently folding and wrapping it, in tissue paper and then in a box. With a purple bow of course, it was Lunch time. Goldie left with the box and met up with Niomi at the kitchen. Which wasn’t too far from the head table. Niomi suggested, “Why don’t you leave that on the head table with ‘For Felicia’ on it and her aunt and uncle can take it and put it on her bed or something.” Goldie nodded, looked around for a pen and saw a marker hanging from a white board that said kitchen messages. She borrowed the marker, wrote the message and put it back. Then took the box and put it on the end where she knew the Betas sat. They stepped into the doorway of the kitchen and there was the food. “Thank you cook!” “You’re welcome. You know everyone just calls me cook. But my name is Marlene. My momma used to call me Marley. Kinda stuck. Be a dear and spread that I’d like to be called either Marlene or Marley. Prefer Marley though.” “Ok Marley! Thank you for all you do!” Shouted Goldie and Niomi in unison. Marley just shook her head. They were heading out, and Ben and Lissa were passing them. “Hey girls, where you two going?” Lissa asked. Goldie spoke first, “Meeting Felicia in the garden for lunch. She asked us to take care of getting food and drink.” “So, we asked coook...I mean Marley if she would make us up a basket with drinks that Felicia was doing an important meditation this morning and would probably be out there all morning. She told us she’d tell us about her dream last night. I loaned her, the stone wolf. I carved it myself. Which reminds me, Alpha Ben, my dad and I would like some of your time. I have a request, and my dad is helping me a little. Also, a gift from Felicia to help me in my request.” “Sure, come see me after lunch. So, Marley is the cook?” “Yes, Alpha. She says she would like people to use her name. Which is Marlene. But her momma used to call her Marley and it kind of stuck. She wanted us to pass it along. Can you help?” Goldie piped in. Lissa responded I think we can do better than that. Don’t worry, we’ll take care of it. Go eat with your friend. She deserves some downtime. Confused at this, the girls just looked at each other as the Alpha and Luna continued to the head table. The girls just shrugged and continued to the garden. Finding Felicia still asleep on the blanket next to her uncle who was reading a book as he watched over her. They set the food on the picnic table that was set off to one side under a big tree. They noticed that he had her phone. Knowing she would have set a timer or alarm to wake herself up in time. He wanted her to sleep till her friends were there. As he could see how tired she really was. Goldie ran up while Niomi set out the food and poured the drinks. “She’s sleeping!” Goldie quietly exclaimed. “Yeah Azella and her wolf did something today that is very rare. Then again she is rare herself.” Mick mused. “Huh?” Goldie asked confused again. “You, Luna, and Alpha are acting strange.” “Oh? Huh. Well, you’ll find out. Go on over to the table I’ll wake her and take her blanket for her and get it up to her room.” “Oh, Beta Mick I left a box with a purple bow at the head table for Felicia as well. It’s her cape. Would you please make sure that gets to her room as well?” “Most definitely.” Mick said as she ran off to help Niomi. He reached down and touched Felicia’s shoulder. “Felicia time to get up. Your friends are here with lunch. They set everything up at the picnic table under the tree.” “Hmmm? What? Food? Friends?” Felicia said still half asleep. Mick chuckled and said, “Yes, all of that. Your mom sent me out here to keep you safe while you and Azella slept. She said it would calm a mother’s heart. So, I did as I was told and brought myself a book. It was nice getting a little down time with my daughter even though she was only napping. It was the relaxation I needed.” “But I was asleep how is that relaxing to you?” “quiet time with my daughter, is relaxing.” “Oh dad.” Felicia said and rolled her eyes. Just then her alarm went off. “Did you say my friends were here?” When Mick pointed over to where they were, Felicia’s face just lit up!” “Felicia I’ll take your blanket here back to your room for you. Ok?” “Thanks dad!” Felicia said and kissed him on the cheek. Mick just smiled. Refolded the blanket and carried it inside and straight to her room stopping at the table and grabbing her gift, saying “I’ll be right back just need to run these upstairs and see if Joy’s come down yet, if not I’ll bring her along.” Then disappeared.
