Curse to Blessing

Born with a gift no one could understand, Ada entered the world with long, beautiful hair in a village where every child was born without a single strand. Instead of celebrating her birth, the people of Arowale declared her a curse. Feared, rejected, and blamed for every misfortune that befell the village, Ada loses everything she loves and grows up as an outcast.

Despite the hatred surrounding her, fate has a different plan. When the crown prince falls in love with the mysterious young woman everyone despises, their f*******n love ignites jealousy, betrayal, and a desperate plot to end Ada's life. But as a deadly illness threatens the king and the kingdom's last hope is revealed through an ancient prophecy, the villagers are forced to confront a shocking truth.

Will the girl they called a curse become the kingdom's greatest blessing, or will fear destroy the miracle sent to save them?

A captivating tale of love, sacrifice, forgiveness, and destiny, Curse to Blessing reminds us that what the world rejects today may be the very answer to tomorrow's prayers.

Chapter1: A cursed child
The night Ada was born was unlike any other in the history of Arowale Village. Thick dark clouds covered the sky, heavy rain fell without ceasing, and thunder roared so fiercely that many villagers woke from their sleep. Some stepped outside their huts and looked toward the sky, wondering what could have angered the gods. At the edge of the village, inside a small mud house, Abeni struggled through the pains of childbirth while Mama Iya, the oldest and most respected midwife in the village, encouraged her to stay strong. After hours of pain, Abeni gave one final push, and the cry of a baby echoed through the room. Mama Iya smiled with relief as she carried the newborn in her hands. "It is a beautiful baby girl," she said. Outside, Oladipo, who had waited many years to become a father, thanked God before rushing into the room with tears of joy. He could not wait to hold his daughter for the first time. Mama Iya gently cleaned the baby and wrapped her in a white cloth. As she uncovered the baby's head, the smile on her face disappeared. Her hands froze, and her heart began to race. She looked at the child once, then looked again, unable to believe what she was seeing. "What is wrong?" Oladipo asked as he noticed the fear on her face. Without saying a word, Mama Iya slowly turned the baby toward the parents. Both of them gasped. Covering the baby's tiny head was thick, silky black hair that flowed all the way to her feet. It shone beautifully beneath the light of the oil lamp, and whenever lightning flashed through the window, tiny silver strands sparkled among the dark hair. It was breathtaking, yet frightening. In Arowale Village, no child had ever been born with hair. Every baby was born completely bald, and hair only began to grow after the child's first birthday. Yet this little girl had hair longer than many grown women. "This cannot be," Mama Iya whispered. "I have delivered children for over forty years, and I have never seen anything like this." Before anyone could speak again, a loud c***k of thunder shook the entire village. At that very moment, lightning struck the sacred tree beside the village shrine, splitting it into two. Frightened villagers rushed out of their homes, shouting and pointing toward the shrine. "The sacred tree has fallen!" "The gods are angry!" "What has happened?" The news spread quickly that a strange child had just been born. Curious villagers gathered outside Oladipo's house, whispering among themselves. Before long, the village chief and the council of elders arrived to see the child for themselves. "We heard something unusual happened here tonight," the chief said. "Bring the child." Mama Iya reluctantly uncovered the baby once again. The moment the elders saw the long hair covering the little girl, fear filled the room. One elder stepped backward, another covered his mouth, while the oldest among them stared silently before speaking. "No child has ever entered this world like this," he said quietly. "This is either a great blessing... or a terrible curse." His words spread through the crowd like wildfire. Before sunrise, everyone in Arowale Village had heard about the strange baby. Some believed she had been sent by evil spirits. Others claimed she was a sign that disaster was coming upon the land. Mothers refused to let their children go near the house, and people who would normally visit a family after childbirth stayed far away. Only Abeni and Oladipo looked at the child differently. As Abeni gently held her daughter against her chest, she kissed her forehead and smiled through her tears. "I don't care what anyone believes," she whispered. "She is my daughter, and I will love her until my last breath." Oladipo placed his hand on his wife's shoulder and looked at the frightened faces outside their home. "No one will touch my child," he said firmly. "As long as I live, I will protect her." Neither of them knew that those words would soon be tested, for the child the village had already condemned would one day become the greatest blessing Arowale Village had ever known.
