Three days have passed, and there is still no difference in Ester. Her wounds are only halfway healed. Mongoose won't leave his mother's side. Wolfy stops in every so often to see how things are coming. Men working in the mind have heard the story of Ester and her brother. They keep hoping their nightmare of working the mines will end soon. So many have gotten sick and passed. They are barely hanging on.
Hawk and Talking Bird both have mind linked Wolfy asking how Ester is. They don't want a war to start. There already is enough pain in the villages.
Wolfy talks to Mongoose. "Do you think a real sincere medicine man can make a difference in your mom's recovery? I can ask the medicine man of the falls pack to come treat her. I am sure he will help if I ask him."
