Rose's POV
I can't believe what I saw as Kailey and I walked out of the school. River was sitting on the back of my truck, with his best friends, Tanner and Kyle. Thankfully, Kyle was standing by his car. Then out of the blue, Kyle offered to take Kailey to work and they took Tanner with them. Before I knew it, the big bad River Alexander Grey, the bad boy of the school, was in my truck holding my hand.
"Rose..." He started to say, not sure how to ask me or what to expect me to say. "Would you go the dance with me this Friday?" He asked.
Boy, if only you knew how hard I am falling for you. I thought to myself as I looked into those beautiful blue eyes.
"You go to dances?" I asked, looking at him with curiosity in my voice. " I thought someone like you would have something better to do on a friday night then go to a dance."
"I will onky if you agree to go with me." He said, taking my hand and running his thumb across it.
"Okay." I said, staring at our hands that were intertwined and then back to his face.
I can't believe that I, Rose Anne Nelson, was going to the school dance with the bad boy. My heart started pounding as I kept looking at him and the smile that was on his face. After that I took him back to the school so he could grab his car.
........
Later that night I lie down in bed, going over my conversation with River after school at the park with a goofy smile plastered onto my face.
"Rose, time for dinner." My mom called from downstairs in the kitchen.
"Coming." I say as I rolled out of my bed and walked downstairs. "Where's dad?" I asked curious to why he's not home.
"Working late again." My mom sighed as she handed me a plate of meatloaf. "So how was your first day of school?" She asked with a questioning look.
"It was fine. I ran into this boy and he ended up being in my first period class." I told her thinking back to River.
"Is he cute?" She asked. "How old is he?" She kept asking different questions wanting to know more about him.
"His name is River and yes he's cute and he's the same age I am." I told her, finishing my meatloaf. "I'm gonna go watch some TV now." Taking my plate to the sink before going back upstairs to my room.
When I got to my room, I went over to my desk to work on some homework when my phone goes off.
"Hey Kailey. How was work?" I asked. "Was it a busy night or a slow night?"
When I didn't get an answer right away, I got worried. "Kailey what's wrong?" Concern and worry taking over me as I thought about why she wasn't answering me. And finally after like 10 minutes age finally responds and called me instead of texting back.
"Rose....can you come pick me up please?" Urgency clearly in her voice.
"Yep. I'll be right there, don't worry." I said grabbing my keys and walking out to my truck.
.........
"Rose I can't thank you enough for coming to get me." Kailey said as she climbed into the passanger seat of my truck.
"No problem." I reply. "Anything for my best friend."
We were both quiet on the ride to her house
but as i turned onto her road when I noticed Rivers black mustang out of the corner of my eye.
"What's Rivers car doing at a club?" I turn asking Kailey.
"I don't know, but can we not worry about that, I'm tired and want to get home." Kailey says with a yawn.
"Yeah, I'll just ask him about it tomorrow at school." I say, turning my attention back to the road.
The whole ride to Kaileys house, I can't stop thinking about what his car was doing at a club at 11:00 at night and on a school night of all nights.
"Thanks for the ride." Kailey says, as I pull into her driveway.
"Anytime." I say with a shrug of the shoulders. "I'll see you in the morning when I come and pick you up for school."
"Okay. See you then." She said, and with that I watched as Kailey made her way into her house before I pulled away and started back to my house.
I turned on the radio so I wasn't dirving in complete silence. When I looked into my rearview mirror and see Rivers black mustang again, but this time it was behind my truck.
Why would River be following me? I questioned as I kept driving till I pulled into my driveway and climbed out of my truck.
I went to the back of my truck to see if the mustang was anywhere in sight, only to come up dry because it was nowhere to be seen.
Seeing as the car was gone, I went into my house and up to my room to go to bed. I wasn't exactly tired as I climbed into bed and under the covers, so I decided to turn on Netflix and watched my favorite tv series the Vampire Diaries.
Ugh...Damon, why do you have to be so mysterious. I thought to myself as I continues to watch the show.

Rivers POV
"Dude, wasn't that Rose's truck that just rolled by?" Tanner asked, as we were leaving the club.
"Yeah, I think it was." I answered. "Let's follow to see where she's going at this time of night." Climbing into my black mustang with Tanner taking the passenger seat and Kyle climbing into the back.
"Think she knows we are following her?" Kyle asked as we watched her drop off her friend.
"I'm not sure." I said with a shrug and continued following her.
She came to a stop at a house which I presumed was hers. As soon as she opened her door, she went to the back of her truck then into the house.
"I think she figured out we were following her." Tanner says. "Did you see her walk around the back of her truck to check the street? She's obviously looking for us."
"I guess we will find out tomorrow at school." Said Kyle as he sat back in his seat and took out his phone to do who knows what.
