chapter seven

River seems to noitce that something was wrong with me as his eyes locked onto mine.
"Let her go. I won't say it again." River says in an even more deadly tone.
The next thing I know, River has me in his arm bridal style and we are behind the school.
"What the hell was that all about?" I ask him.
"Rose I'm so sorry. Those guys should never have gotten ahold of you." He says, putting me down.
"Where's Kailey and the others?" I ask.
"Tanner and Kyle are with Kailey. They are actually waiting for us in front of the school." He says.
"Why did you have a gun and what did those guys want?" I ask him, curiosity getting the best of me.
"I'll tell you everything soon baby." He says pulling me into a hug. "Now lets get back to the others."
"We swear we didn't know they'd be here, otherwise we would've went out the other doors." Tanner says as we reach them.
"We'll deal with it later." River says. "Now didn't you girls wanna go to the mall?" He asks, looking from me to Kailey.
With that, River opens the passenger door of his mustang for me. While the other three get into Kyles car. We all arrive at the mall and drag the boys to a few different stores buying shoes and make-up before Kailey and I lead them into Forever 21. After looking around the store, I found a beautiful black dress.
"You gotta try that on." Says Kailey, pointing at the dress I had in my hands.
The dress has spaghetti straps, the color is black, and stops before the knees. When I looked in the mirror, I saw that it shows off all the right curves and zips up in the back. I step out of the changing room to show Kailey when I catch River checking me out and I start to blush.
"Rose that dress...you look hot." He says, running a hand through his hair with a smirk on his face.
I quickly turn away, smiling like an i***t and my checks feeling very warm from the blush I was trying to hide. As I look away I see Kailey standing by the dressing rooms with an approving smile on her face.
"You are so getting that dress." She says to me as I walk into the dressing room to change out of the dress.
When I come back out, River is talking with Tanner and Kyle.
"Dude, I'm starving." I hear Kyle say as Kailey and I walk closer to the guys.
"When are you not hungry." Tanner says to Kyle rolling his eyes.
"I'm down for pizza and a movie to finish off the day." I say, catching the guys off guard.
"Pizza and a movie sounds good to me." River replies.
We are walking out of the mall when River turns to the group and says "Rose and I will get the pizza and meet you guys at Kyles."
An hour later we arrive at Kyles house where we all dive into the pizza and sit around Kyles basement living room, spread out on the couches and the floor.
"So, what's the movie gonna be guys?" Asks Tanner turning on the flat screen tv.
"How about the movie Five feet apart." I say, standing up and going over to the movies to grab it.
As I grab the movie from the shelf, River comes up from behind me and takes the movie from me, putting it back on the self.
"No chick flicks tonight." He says, grabbing Road House.
"Fine. Road House it is then." I say, turning back around and going to sit by Kailey on the floor.
"Patrick Swazey is so hot." Kailey says, taking a bite of pizza.
About half way through the movie the pizza is gone and everyone is alseep.
Since everyone is asleep, I grab my phone and check my f*******:, snapchat, and i********:.
Once I'm done doing that, I get up to use the bathroom and get a glass of water.
When I came back, I see that River has woken up and doesn't look happy.
"What's wrong?" I ask, a look of concern on my face.
"Nothing you need to worry about." River tells me.
"I know it's not nothing River. Please tell me?" I say with a pleading look and even pouting out my bottom lip a little bit.
"It's just.....I...I'm not sure what to do anymore my life has gotten so messed up." River says with a sad look.
"Hey it's okay. I'm here if you need to talk or anything. You don't have to hide from me." I tell him, putting my arms around his neck and pulling him into a hug.
"Thanks." Is all he says as he hugs me back.
