Broken Promises

chapter thirteen

"Your dad is not just a gang member, but he's the leader of the bulldogs." He says. "And him and his gang are enemies of mine."

"River I don't care if your in a gang because I love you." I say.

"Y...you what?" he asks, with a shocked look on his face.

"I love you River." I say, with my cheeks turning pink.

"Oh, Rose" he pauses a minutes. "I love you too, but this life isn't one you want to be involved in."

"I'm already involved. I got involved the day we ran into each at school."

"Rose this life is dangerous. I don't want you to get hurt anymore."

"River listen to me I'm not going anywhere and if I get hurt then so be it. I rather go through getting stabbed with a knife again then to lose you."

"You are so stubborn." He says. shaking his head at me

With that he turns the car back on and we start to drive to my house.

As we drive I just stare out the window and watch the surroundings go by.

When we get to my house River opens the door for me and grabs my bags from the trunk following me inside the house.

"You can go sit down in the living room if you'd like." I say, grabbing my bags and taking them upstairs to my room.

When I come back down River is on the couch looking at his phone.

"Would you like anything to eat ot drink?" I ask.

"Naw, I should actually be heading out." He says, standing up the couch and walking over to me.

"Oh, okay. I guess I'll see you at school tomorrow." I say, with a sad face.

"Hey don't cry Rose. It'll be okay. It's not like I'm leaving forever." He says, pulling ne into a hug.

"I know." I say, hugging him back.

After a few mintues we break apart and I walk River to the door and watch him leave before shutting the door, before going back to my room to get stuff ready for a shower. As I'm getting ready to take a shower I hear my phone going off.

"Hey Kailey. What's up?" I say, answering the phone.

"I'm good. How are you after everything? I hope you're not mad thst River told me what happened." Kailey says.

"I'm good, just a little sore. And I'm not mad that he told you." I say, honestly.

"Good. Will you be in school tomorrow?" She asks.

"You'll just have to wait and see." I tell her. "But, hey I'm gonna let you go, so i can take a shower."

"Okay. Well just text me later okay."

"Will do. Talk to you later." I say, hanging up the phone.

I then start the water for the shower and step in. Man this water feels good. I say to myself. After a few minutes of just standing under the water I finally wash my hair and body being careful of my stitches. Once I'm done in the shower I dry myself off with a towel and step into some black panties, soft pajamas pants, and a baggy t-shirt. I then climb into my bed and turn on Netflix to watch Riverdale. As I'm watching the show River texts me to let me know that he got home safe and to have a good night.

So, we text back and forth for a while until he ends up falling asleep. I also texted Kailey but, never got a response so I figured she had went to sleep as well.

After awhile I start to get hungry so I pause my shower and go downstairs to fine something eat. As I look in the fridge I don't find anything, so, I look in the freezer and find some pizza rolls.I grab a plate from the cupboard and open the pizza roll bag putting them on the plate and putting them into the microwave.

After a few minutes the pizza rolls are done. So I grab them, a bag of chips and a bottle of mountain dew and go back upstairs to my room. I get comfy on my bed again, unpause Netflix and place my plate of pizza rolls on my lap, chips to the side, and I put my mountain dew on the night stand.

"Betty and Jughead are so cute together." I think to myself as I continue to watch Riverdale.

Before I know it, it's after midnight and all my food is gone and I can't seem to get comfortable anymore. I turn off Netflix and try to get some sleep but, all that happens tossing and turning. After about a half hour of tossing and turning I decide to just give up and play around on a few games that i have on my phone. I play the games until I'm out of lives and then try to get some sleep and with some luck I soon fall into a very deep sleep.
