Broken Promises

chapter fourteen

Rivers POV

I wake up to my alarm going off and my little sister Lisa sitting on my bed.

"Hey shorty." I say, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

"I'm not that short." She says, climbing off of the bed.

"Well you're shorter then me so, that makes you a shorty." I say, rolling out of bed and picking her up off the floor.

"Put me down!" she says, squirming in my arms because I'm tickling her.

"Okay, but you asked for it." i say, throwing her down into the bed while tickling her a little bit more.

After a few minutes I finally let Lisa go and she runs out of my room and upstairs. I then go to take a shower and get ready for school. After I'm done showering I put on a pair of dark jeans, a black t-shirt, leather jacket, and a pair of combat boots.

"Riv...dad wants to know if you could take me to daycare this morning?" My little sister asks, standing in the door of my room.

"Sure I can take you to daycare." I say, picking her up and walking upstairs after grabbing my keys, phone, and wallet.

As we reach the top of the stairs I put my sister down and she grabs my hand leading me into her room to help her get ready for daycare.

"What would you like to wear today?" I ask her, going over to her dresser to look through her cloths.

"I wanna wook like a princess." She says.

"Well I don't know about that seeing how you already are a princess to me but, I think we can find you a very pretty outfit." I tell her, pulling out a black dress that has red and gold roses all over it.

We quickly match her dress with some black and gold tights with red shoes. We also braid her hair down her back and add some red, gold, and black flower clips.

"Tank you River." Lisa says, giving me a hug and walking out the living room to grab her coat and backpack.

"Are we ready to go princess?" I ask.

"Yes." She says. With that I open the door and my little sister walks out of the house to the garage and towards my mustang.

"Hold up little one. We aren't taking my mustang today." I tell her, taking her hand and leading her to my truck.

I watch my little sisters eyes go wide as she stares at the newer black chevy truck parked in the garage.

"I get to ride in that." She says, her mouth nearly hitting the floor.

"Yep. Now let's get going before you're late for daycare and I'm late for school." I say, picking her up and buckling her in the truck and going over to the drivers side to get in.

I get my little sister to daycare with just a few minutes to spare.

"I'll see you later princess okay." I tell her walking into the daycare and helping her take her coat off.

"Okay." She says, giving me one last hug before I leave her daycare to go to school.

As I walk back to the truck I get a text from the guys wondering when I'm gonna be at school. So, I text them back stating that I'd be there soon because i had to drop my sister off at daycare. After what seems like forever I finally pull into the parking lot right next to Rose's truck.

"Dude where'd you swipe this thing from? Kyle asks, looking over the truck.

"Where the hell is mine?" Tanner asks, in a serious but yet joking tone.

"He's just trying to show me up because he knows my truck is better." Rose says, carefully climbing out of her truck.

"How are you feeling this morning?" I ask, grabbing her bag and putting my arm around her shoulder.

"A little sore ,but I'll be okay." She says, with a smile.

That's when the bell rings for first period. So, we all walk into school and go our separate ways to class. As we walk I give Rose a kiss on the forehead which causes her to face to turn red.

"Go get a room." Says Kyle, rolling his eyes.

"Why would you want to do that Kyle? So you can...." Rose says, leaving the rest of the sentence to his imagination.

"Well it sure would beat being in class." He says, winking at her.

"Dude to much information." She says, taking her seat in the back of the class in the made of both Kyle and I.

With that the teacher walks in and beings to write stuff down on the board. "This is going to be a long day" I think to myself as I copy what's written on the board. After awhile the bell rings and class is over. The rest of the day seems to by fast, but yet also slow at the same time. After school we all meet up by our vehicles.

"Anyone wanna go get some food?" Tanner asks, breaking the silence.

"I'm down" Kailey and Kyle say at the same time which causes them to let out a chuckle.

"I'm down for food. What about you Rose?" I ask, putting my hand around here waist.

"Sure." Is all she said. After that we all go to this little cafe just a few minutes away from the school.

As we walk in we see that theres one booth and only one table open. And somehow we all manage to agree to the booth without says anything.

"What would everyone like to drink?" the waitress asks, pulling out her note pad.

"two Mountain dews, water, lemonade, a coffee." I say, and everyone just looks at me shocked to.

"Alright, I'll be right back with those." the waitress says, walking away.

"Dude how did you know what we wanted." Kyle says.

"I didn't I just took a wild guess." I say, shrugging my shoulders.

After a few minutes the waitress comes back with out drinks and takes our food orders. Once she comes back with the food we all start eating and just talk about different things in school. I look over my shoulder to see Rose is starting to fall asleep along with Kailey.

"I think it's time to get the girls home. They are already falling sleep." I tell the guys and they nod their heads in agreement

. As Tanner goes to pay for everything, Kyle amd I wake up the girls and take them out side to the vehicles.

"Well we will see you all later." I say, climbing into my truck and taking Rose back to my house.

"Hey Rose, there's someone I would like you meet." I say, waking her up from her nap.

"Okay." She says, rubbing the sleep from her eyes and readjusting herself in the passenger seat.
