The man was irate and looked as if he was ready to hurt something. Ysabelle's brother, Ismirr, took a step forward. "Speak when spoken to, girl. Where is he?" He spat. Ismirr continue walking forward until he was a about three feet away from me. I could feel the anger rolling off of his body. "I-I don't know.." I stammer out. Taking a step back in fear. I took another step back and accidentally bump into Kyoto's chest. I was trapped. "I'll go look for Eric." Ellis whispers in my ear before plunging into the crowd towards the mine. Ysabelle stood next to her father the inn owner. She looked as beautiful as the last time I saw her. Her long golden locks was down her back and her chocolate eyes hidden behind closed lids. She wore a revealing dress and over her dress was a corset. Even though she wore a corset, you can still see a small bump in her stomach. Was she pregnant? And if she was then why was she showing so early? "Are you deaf? I asked you where the swine was and if you don't answer me soon then someone will get hurt." Ismirr growl. He takes out a small dagger from its hilt. The crowd gasp in surprise but didn't make a move to stop him. I gulp in fear. My knees began to grow weak and I began to get light headed. Where is Onyx?! Before I could do anything, Kyoto stood before me with lightning speed, shielding me from my enemies. He unsheathed his sword and pointed it at ismirr. "How dare you come here to my home and cause a scene. And more importantly, threaten this harmless woman. State your business, boy." Kyoto sounded ruthless and dangerous. He stood tall and imposing before me. I took a peak behind him, my hands clenching the back his yukata still afraid. I see ismirr narrow his eyes in annoyance, Lowering his weapon. "And who are you?" Ismirr asks. Silent anger in his voice. "I said state your business, not ask questions." Kyoto snaps. He looked like he was going to lose his marbles at any moment. "We need to speak with Eric!" Ismirr growls, not like being bossed around. "Are you an i***t? You all ready said that. Why do you need to see that fariy? Spit it out!" Kyoto bellows out, pissed off. His hand tightening around his sword. He looked as if he was ready to cut both of the men before us down. "That ass got my sister pregnant!" Ismirr roars back at Kyoto. I hear shuffling besides me and I'm suddenly being pulled into an strong protective embrace. I looked up and I'm met with Onyx's golden eyes. I threw my arms around him and squeeze him with all my might. I'm so glad he is safe! "Are you OK?" He asked me. His eyes looking over me trying to find anything wrong with me. I place my hand against his chest, he relaxes under my touch. "I'm fine thanks to Kyoto. He saved me." He just nodded, pulling me into his arms. He looked over to a tense looking Kyoto, studying him. "I-I did what n-now?" Eric's voice rings out. My eyes snaps to him. His dark hair was pulled up to a bun and he was sporting a full beard and mustash now. He wore plain clothes and his body was covered in dirt as was onyx. Eric looked like he was going to pass out at what he heard. "You got my daughter pregnant, you must take her. We have no use for her anymore." For the second time the inn owner spoke in a stern voice. He pushed Ysabelle forward. She screeched and fell forward to her hands and knees. Eric scrambles forward and helps her to her feet. She automatically clings to him and sobs into his chest.  Eric looks up at the two. "How do you know It even belongs to me?" Eric asks in a monotone voice. "Figure it out yourselves. She's your problem now." Ismirr snaps. Him and his father turns on their heels and starts starting back to the inn. "You can't just leave her here! What if its not mine! This is a big misunderstanding!" The two didn't turn back to us. The crowd begins to break up. "Drop it Eric, they aren't going to listen to you." Onyx says. He raises an hand from my shoulder and runs it down his face. He looked stressed. Ellis was at Eric's and ysabell's side. Kyoto looked amused, with his eyes on Eric. "Quite pathetic, fairy boy. You couldn't pull out in time?" Kyoto shoots at Eric, a mocking laugh fills the air. Fire fills into Eric's eyes. He looks like he was going to pounce on Kyoto. "What did you say, cat boy? Sounds like you want to fight." Eric snaps. His mother slaps his shoulder. Ysabelle didn't respond. "Fight you? Oh please don't make me laugh." Kyoto looked like he was actually enjoying their little argument. "Stop acting like children." Onyx says with so much base and authority in his voice, they automatically stop arguing. He sighs. "We need to have another meeting. Meet me at the tents." We all nodded and began to make our way over to the tents. -------- It was late at night. I lay beside a fast asleep Onyx beside me. I couldn't help but look down adoringly at the man. He made my life like this. I'm not alone any more. I don't have to worry when I would eat again, if I would be safe.. I didn't have to stress over things ever again. I will admit, having him here providing for me it made me weak. I didn't feel the desire to fight or take charge anymore. I guess its because I had Onyx to take care of it for me. But I need to get back to my old self. I need to learn to fight actually. One day onyx may not be there to save me. Although it was true, I hated to think that would happen. Onyx's crow black hair was messy around his white horns. His golden eyes was hidden under his eyelids. His soft lids were relaxed as soft snores sounds from his chest. I press my lips to his forhead, leaving a tender kiss there. He sturred the slightest bit before going still again. I stand up ready to go and empty my bladder. I crawl out of the tent and made my way to the out house in the center of town and when I finished I made my way back to our tents. It was dark out and the only light available was the shining stars from the milky way and the full moon above me. The only thing I can hear was crickets and my own footsteps. It was actually pretty chilly out, This thin night gown was not keeping me warm at all. When I finally made my way over to the tents I notice Kyoto. Kyoto's tent was farther away from our tents. His was a couple of yards away and against a single tree. He had lanterns hanging down on the low branches of the trees. He sat right at the mouth of the tent wearing a plain white yukata, his black hair hung down free, his cat ears alert. The small fire cracking before him illuminating the air. His eyes on me. "Why are you still up?" I asked. He just waved me over. I crossed the distance between us and took a seat beside him. The fire warmed my skin a little but not enough. A shiver rips through my body. He silently reaches into his tent and pulled out a quilt. He wraps it around me tightly. "T-thank you." My cheeks flushing, embarrassed. He just nodded. I finally looked at his face and my stomach dropped. His eyes stare into the fire numbly. He looked spooked as if he saw a ghost, petrified even. He was paler than usual, a light sheen of sweat covered his for head. "What wrong, Kyoto? What happened?" I asked concerned. His eyes landed on me. "I had a nightmare about my past." He say simply. "Do you want to talk about it? I'm worried about you." I ask. His eyes filled with warmth and a gentle smile comes on his face. "You are always so nice to me...I feel so bad..for being mean to you." He trails off. He sighed. "Remember that story I was going to tell you and Ellis?" He ask in a quiet tone. I nodded. "Well I'm going to tell you now, this is for your ears only. Do not tell anyone, not even Ellis." I nodded. He sighs yet again. Turning so that he faced me. "Five years ago, when I was seventeen and still in my homeland. I met this girl. I was attending a diplomatic meeting with my father and other nobles, and I just saw her. She was a personal servant of the nobleman who was throwing the meeting. Even though her kimono was ragged and she looked underweight, she was still the most beautiful Khaat woman I've ever seen." He trailed off. Even though Kyoto's brown eyes were looking into to my blue ones, they became empty again. He almost looked as if he wasn't looking at me, it was like he was looking through me. "It wasn't long until I started sneaking out of my mansion at night to see her. We would hangout in the woods and talk, get to know each other and I began to fall in love with her..after about six months, we made love to each other for the very first time. That's when she asked me to run away with her. She wanted to come to the main lands here and escape from her master. She told me she wanted to become my mate and become my wife. She told me that she loved me.." Sadness was written all on his pretty face. I felt my heart drop at his expression. He continued. "I was so blinded by my love, I agreed and the next night we made our escape. I took all the money I owned and my most expensive things with me. I planned to sell them and get even more coin. I had brought over 700,000 coins and some stuff that would have added up to another 700,000 worth of coin. We would have been set for a lifetime... That night we snuck onto a cargo ship and made our escape. But it was too late. By the time we made it here she stabbed me with my own sword in the shoulder and made off with a little over half of my stuff. She left me to die. She never cared about me. She just wanted my coin and nothing more..." He paused. A single tear trailing down his cheek. I reached out from under the quilt and brushed it away. I scooted closer to him and wrapped my arms around him. Pulling him into a comforting hug. He froze for a couple of seconds, not expecting to be hugged but suddenly he relaxed under my touch. He wrapped his arms around me giving me a tight squeeze. He takes a shaky breath before continuing. "Some masked female bandits found me. For some reason the felt bad for me and left me outside of this mining town, but that didn't stop them from stealing the rest of what I had left. And here I am, years later. Because of the servant girl and those damned bandits, I began hating women." He finished. I was quiet for a moment taking everything that he said in before I spoke. "What she did was the most evil thing I've ever heard." I say. Kyoto chucked. "Tell me about it." "Before I met Onyx, I had plenty of wild men try to mate me and they tried to kill me if I refused or break my bones, but I don't hate men. I know there are plenty of nice men out here, and I want you to know there is plenty of nice women out here too. Please don't hate us, not all ladies are evil." I pleaded. He looked down at me with an unreadable expression, his eyes holding some time of powerful and warm emotion I couldn't recognize. "Trust me, I know that now." He say in a rare sweet tone a smile on his face. "So your mate is the guy with golden eyes and horns? He is your mate?" He asks. "Yes." "Oh my, quite unfortunate for me.." He grumbles to him self. "What do you mean?" I ask. Confused. "Nothing. Go back to bed, I'll see you in the morning." He dismisses me a hint of sadness in his eyes. "Are you sure?" "Positive." He answer. I nodded handing him back his quilt. I tell him goodnight before scurrying off to my tent and falling asleep next to the love of my life...
