Selecting The Dragons Bride

Amelia is currently studying in the most prestigious academy in the dragon empire Sapphire Academy.Named after the wife of the king.The empire is ruled by the current dragon king and coexists dragons and mages.She,a mage is known for her beauty and magnificent talent in magic as well as being the top student in Sapphire Academy. The teachers adored her .She was leading a peaceful life until one faithful day.. AMELIA I'm currently training with my best friends Jade,Vera,Heron,and Cade they were the people that I valued most in the academy besides my parents.I'm sparring with them in the academy's arena as we were bored. Ha! Take that Amelia! I chuckled as Jade said those words.Not bad jade but you'll have to do better! I deflected the spell she had cast towards me and cast my own spell that I sent towards her. What?! No way! Let's go again! she said panting,a bit tired from the training.Sure why n- Ouch! I screamed from the sudden pain in my arm. Amelia! Jade's voice echoed through the arena I'm fine it's just probably exhaustion but the worry and shock from their eyes had looked like something bad was happening to me. Amelia there's something on your arm mumbled Cade lowly but still loud enough for me to hear. What? what is this?! I panicked a bit and almost fainted as I saw the dark red mark glowing on my skin.Legs almost giving out from the pain the mark had delivered.But luckily steadied by Vera.Thanks you I smiled thankful that she had caught me.The mark felt heavy and weird. Ok stay calm I thought to myself. My friends had worry painted on their faces as I reassured them there should be a reasonable explanation for this even though I had no idea what the mark meant so I told them we could ask the professors. In Class Quiet! Everyone back to their seats!I have an announcement to make! The professor huffed loudly. All students returned to their original seating arrangement and the room became quiet. As you all know by now their are marks on your arms that appeared out of nowhere.Don't panic as it is a good sign because as I have told you before in our previous lectures and lessons on your first days here in the academy we have princes,lords,and elite nobles in our kingdom and the king and queen has decided to select some brides for them and the people selected will get sent to the palace tomorrow and will get a chance to be the princes brides.The ones that have marks in their arm are the ones worthy enough to compete to be a wife of one of the princes.You will be tested throughout your days in the palace and at the end of the month might get married to one of the princes but! Shouted the teacher.Do not throw yourselves onto them and irritate them Some of you may not be so lucky and will have to leave the palace or worse if you do not pique the interest of any of the princes or irritate and annoy them,and always obey their orders.And the girls started to get excited at the announcement.Squealing at the thought of marrying one of the princes.Ok that's enough! The professor cut off their daydreaming and drooling at the thought of the princes. Amelia What?!Mark?!This is seriously turning out to be a horrid nightmare.I thought to myself as my face turned pale and I looked at the faces of my friends, obviously shocked to the bone from the announcement.I'll escape tonight I have to.But I have to say goodbye as well. So much for asking what the mark meant. Amelia sighs as she packs her things, she did not wish to go to the palace and marry any of the princes because she knew her freedom would be restrained and she would live her life to be a bird trapped in a gold cage.As she changed her clothes to a brown baggy hooded jacket with brown long pants then proceeded to leave a note and escaped through her window.She continued to walk until suddenly she heard the conversation of their maids.She heard one of the maids say, her family was exiled to a barren land because she was caught escaping even though she had the mark.Such a pity she could have just gone with it said replied the other. As she hears what they are talking about she stops dead in her tracks and panics.Exiled?! They exile people because of that?! No! What would happen to mom and dad then?! I can't leave,I have to stay! These were the words that were gushing through her head at that moment she worried that her family would be exiled as well,oh how cruel the punishment was. The next day... Amelia waves goodbye to her friends and her family with tears in her eyes threatening to spill. We've arrived at the palace my lady, She shrunk as the driver said that as we landed. She sighed heavily and steps down from the flying carriages they use in their empire.She then thanked him and waved goodbye to the flying carriage the driver was in. Amelia had immediately noticed the other girls in the selection.Most wore revealing gowns that had showed their figures and were practically rushing to go inside,her eyes landed on two girls who seemed modest unlike the other girls there so she approached them wanting to make friends at least.Hi she showed a small smile to them Hello it's nice to meet you my name is Sasha,responded the girl with light brown hair And I'm Nathalie added the green haired girl.My name is Amelia she smiles as she tells them her name.You have such beautiful red hair Amelia, said Nathalie as her eyes shone looking at my long red hair.Thank you she replied with a wide smile.Their conversation continued until they reached the designated room where they trained us for hours about proper etiquette,manners, pleasing the princes,and how to dance for the upcoming balls.It was extremely excruciating and then they were finally allowed to go into their rooms to prepare for supper.As I entered the room she had noticed the deep blue color decorating the walls-the color smybolising the empire.It was luxurious alright,even the beds were queen sized and they had their very own bathrooms and closet.She unpacked her things and placed them in the closet,but she noticed that they put at least a nightgown there made from thalian material a material which were made from the thalian flower that grew deep in the Malines the most dangerous mountain to explore to both mages and dragons.It was deep red like the flower so elegant yet showed a quite a bit of skin,it stops midthigh and has a v neck which showed the breast as well as lace decorating it.But why would something so precious be given to her? She would later ask Sasha and Nathalie if they also received such an item later and continue to unpack her things and enter the bathroom.She just wanted to take a bath,the dance teacher is really strict as hell.After she showered I changed into the night gown it felt really cool on the skin though a bit showy and headed off to the palace dining room to eat since I was starving from the lessons,as she entered the room she noticed the other girls had already been seated but she heard whispering about what she was wearing but why would they talk about what I was wearing there nightgowns practically looked like they were naked at that point, maybe it's because it's made out of thalian material then they heard a bit of squealing but got cut off by the mistress teacher wanting to make an announcement.She sighed but went to take a seat beside Sasha and Nathalie,She asked if they received such a nightgown as well to which they replied no.After that she kept quiet not wanting to be scolded by the mistress.Now that you are quiet,be on your best behavior because tonight you will meet the young lords,your highnesses please grace us with your presence the mistress bowed as the men entered the room.
