The second they stepped into the cavernous entrance hall, all sound ceased. Zane glanced to his right, Lonny searched left. There was nothing.
“Why did they all go silent?" Lonny whispered.
Suddenly two security guards came rushing forth out the darkness beyond, their swift, though lumbering figures resembled giant rocks on thick legs—Zane and Lonny took aim, their tranquilizers firing one second after the other. Both shots deflected off the creature's dark orange skin. Zane and Lonny both jumped out of the way as the guards seamlessly dove head first, tumbling into the shape of giant boulders, their bodies folding without missing a step as they attempted to steamroll over the intruders.
“Aim for their chests!" Zane shouted as the guards, unfolded and returned to their feet.
