Manisha lied on her side; her billow wet with her tears. Ones again, she was so alone in the world. She felt like some talented hand had ripped out her apart of her. It took her world with it. She didn’t know how to survive and stitch herself back together again. Her life, her reason for living, everything that made her want to live gone in minutes. Her hand moved over her stomach. More tears leaked out.
She dimly heard the door opening when the presence continued to stand by her bed and not talk Manish turned to see why. They always tried to talk to her, to cheer her up, but this time the presence felt different. The man who stood by her bed was tall, well over six feet, and build like a football player. He had golden blond hair and jade green eyes. His face made of asymmetrical lines of aristocratic beauty. He looked familiar. She racked brain when she finally remembered him. He was the one who won’t let her save Brian. She slowly looked down at him. Both of his hands were covered in bandages. Did he get those when he was pulling her from the burning car? Manisha turned back, facing away from him.
Maybe if she stayed quiet, he would just leave like everyone. She didn’t want to talk to anyone. She even wanted less to see the sympathy in their eyes. She waited to hear the footsteps. Nothing. She turned her head again. He stood in the same exact position. His hands now in his pockets. He had a quire look on his face.
“I heard you were awake. How are you doing?”
Manisha listened to his deep smooth cultured voice with and edge of seduction to it. He had the kind of voice you could listen all day long. She didn’t answer him. She was afraid if she opened her mouth she would scream again until she broke. Her throat convulsed with withheld emotion.
Andreas dragged a chair by the wall closer to the bed so he could hold her hand. He understood this minute she wanted to have something to hold on to. Lossing her husband then the baby made not want to face reality anymore. But he hungered for her. Something he didn’t completely understand but wanted none the less.
“Sweetheart, everyone is worried about you. I’m not going to lie and say I understand what you are going through but honey I’m here for you everyone is here for you.” He rubbed his thumb over her knuckles in a soothing motion.
“Everything is gone. I don’t know what to do. I can’t face going back to house. And now my baby is gone too.” The last ended in hiccup.
Manisha didn’t know why she was sharing her fears and secrets with this man but she wanted the help he was offering. She couldn’t face preparing Brian’s funeral and facing his friends from the police force. Tears fell from her eyes at the thought of Brian.
“I can’t face Brian’s friends and the funeral preparations and the house.”
This was the opening Andreas needed for her to want someone’s help and since there weren’t anyone here available to step forward, he offered his. “Let me help you Manisha. Let me take care of it for you. Since you will be here for the rest of the week, I can help more I want to help.” She looked bewilder by his sincerity.
“Why, why do you want to help me. I can’t give you back anything to repay that kind of help.”
Andreas leap at the chance. She was hooked. But her sense of kind was what he pressed on. It didn’t sit well with him to manipulate his magnificent creature but the need to have her with him was stronger.
“Honey, you need to focus all your energy in into getting better. You can help me with babies. I know nothing about anything to do with kids let alone two.”
“The nurses talk about your sons. How are they?” She twisted blanket on her showing her uncomfortableness with sharing her thoughts with some stranger she met a few short days ago.
Andreas felt that she was shifting the attention from herself. He didn’t understand this woman. He wanted her all the more for it. Her difference from the rest of the female population. Andreas sprawled on the chair appearing tired. Since his clothes were wrinkled and he didn’t go to his hotel to sleep in four days worked to his favour.
“What’s wrong? You look tired? Manisha looked at him with sympathy.
“It’s just the boys, you know. I’m not sure I can take care of them Honey. I still haven’t named them yet. I only have one name Theo. And they are saw tinny I’m afraid to touch them most of the time.” He shook his head to appear more distressed.
“Can I see them please.” Manisha wanted to see them for a moment just to forget her loss. Be blissfully ignorant of the little details she remembered about the accident. The need to see those babies now that she mentioned it was crippling. Andreas smiled a slow predatory smile.
“Of course, honey. They are so small though.” That made Manisha smile the first real genuine one since the accident.
“You will be the best father. Don’t worry so much.”
Andreas brought the two little babies to her every day since that day. She helped him name them. Theo and Tanner Zarakos. Manisha spend her time busying herself with the two little boys and Andreas visits were the highlight of her stay at the hospital. Since she wanted to block reality it was good that Andreas was more than eager to help. She let him arrange the funeral and the insurance claim. Brian’s friends came and went to give her their condolences. After much cajoling Manisha agreed to raise Andreas children and moved to Greece. After the hospital gave the alright Andreas had his private jet take them to his home in Greece.
Manisha fell in love with the huge three-story sprawling home in Ekali. I sat on sixty-five thousand acres of lushest land in Greece. Andreas’ gaze drifted over face. She sat on the bed with one of her boys on her lap as he fell asleep. Since she still had cast on her leg and movement was restricted Andreas helped her with picking up the children.
“You're not doing it right Andreas. Support his head and hold him closer to your chest.” She helped him Manuvir the baby to her satisfaction. By the end of the little lesson Andreas felt like her a achieved some far more than how to hold a baby.
Andreas transitioned his little family into the house. After the three weeks were over, he brought doctor Mikhail to the house to take the cast of Manisha. Within the next month they had some sort of arrangement where Manisha took over the house with her kind, caring, loving self and the huge cold mansion transformed into a warm inviting home. He hired six security guard for Manisha and the children’s protection. He also shifted his horse breeding program to the extensive land of his home. He had the stuff of fourteen men live on the land building cabins and stables for the horses.
Manisha’s refused to hire a housekeeper after the last one was found naked on his bed waiting for him to come. So, he hired a cleaning company that cleaned the whole house three times a week. The only other person on his lands was the middle-aged grounds keeper plus gardener living with his family. Manisha single headedly took care of the kids and the house. Sometimes it drove Andreas crazy with her need to take care of everyone inhabiting the house.
There was laughter, warm fresh food, music playing softly. Everywhere in his house Manisha’s touch was there. To add insult to injury the woman seemed oblivious to his charm and saw his flaws. Every time he said something serous like her safety and they children she would just smile and nod and do whatever the hell she wanted. But Andreas felt triumph every time he came to his house to find everything he didn’t know about love and caring. He would wait until she got over her grieve over husband then date her wow her and marry her before she saw any farther into his soul.
