Tyrek’s Awakening: The Medical System Legacy

‘Can’t wait to see her reaction when I give her the anniversary gift.’ Tyrek thought as he made his way to Elira’s apartment. Tyrek and Elira had been dating for a year at Central Pack College, with him pursuing his medical degree while being a student doctor, to sort his bills and take care of his mom. Elira pursued a degree in fashion design and, due to their busy schedules, they only had time to get together during weekends. This day was special, but it had fallen on a Thursday, so Tyrek had to switch shifts with another student doctor, just so he would be able to be there with Elira during their anniversary. He didn’t even believe that she had agreed to be his girlfriend. Elira was one of the hottest girls on campus, and she was an Alpha’s daughter, so if she wanted, she could easily have all the guys on campus eating out of her hands, but she didn’t. She chose him, a simple guy who had grown up amongst Omegas. This meant a lot to him, and he wanted to make their first anniversary together an unforgettable one. Tyrek finally got to her doorstep with a box of cupcakes in one hand, and a huge smile plastered on his face that could light up a room. He raised his free hand to knock on the door, when he noticed that it was slightly ajar, and he creased his brows in worry. Elira never left her door open, whether she was around or not. He pushed open the door and let himself in, “Elira?” There was no answer, so he put down the box of cupcakes he had been holding on the coffee table. Then he moved to check the kitchen, “Elira?” Nothing. He checked the backyard. Nothing. Then he went to check her bedroom, when he heard faint sounds coming from there. He moved closer to be certain that she was fine, when the sounds coming from the bedroom intensified. She was moaning. He chuckled, ‘good thing I’m here to help ease her tension’. He pushed the bedroom door open and realized that she was releasing her tension while taking a shower. He took off his shoes, brought a velvet jewel box out of his pocket and placed it on the bed. Tyrek beamed with pride because he was finally able to get her the emerald jewelry she couldn’t stop staring at the one time that they passed by the jewelry store. He had to save for months to get it, and he knew it would be the perfect anniversary gift. “Say my name, baby!” a male voice commanded, from inside the bathroom, bringing Tyrek reeling back to reality in confusion. “Dar…ius,” Elira moaned, then he heard an ass smack from inside the bathroom. “I bet that pauper doesn’t make you feel good like I do” She moaned. Tyrek’s world came crashing down. Those sounds kept playing on a loop in his head. ‘This was supposed to be their special day, and she went ahead to do this?’ Tyrek clenched and unclenched his fists several times, as the sounds from the bathroom got louder. ‘What did I do to deserve this from her?’ ‘Why didn’t she just break up with me, rather than hurt me like this’ These thoughts swarmed his head, as he stormed towards the bathroom door to break it down and seek answers to all his questions, but he didn’t. ‘It’s not worth it.’ Those sounds quietened down, when he was about to put his shoes on and leave, then he heard the male voice saying, “you deserve better than that pauper. He should focus on taking care of his w***e of a mother, rather than bothering you with his nonsense.” She giggled, “Oh! You don’t have to worry. Just a few days baby and I’ll be all yours.” Something snapped in Tyrek. He could handle the betrayal from Elira, but no one could talk down on his mom while he stayed silent. His legs moved before he could realize and he banged at the bathroom door, fists clenched such that they were turning white. “Open the frigging door.” He yelled, realizing that the bathroom door had been locked from the inside. The door swung open and right in front of him was Darius, soon-to-be alpha of the Howlthorne pack, and Tyrek’s bully. Without bating an eyelid, Tyrek threw his fists towards Darius and it hit him square in the jaw, “Keep my mother’s name out of your filthy mouth.” He moved to hit him again, but this time, Darius was ready and caught his fists before it landed. Darius maneuvered and squeezed Tyrek’s knuckles, pushing him into the room, until he winced in pain, before releasing it. “That’s what you call a punch?” Darius mocked, before landing a punch on Tyrek’s eye, making him stagger backwards. Tyrek’s eyes were a mix of anger, hurt and disappointment as his eyes looked from Darius to Elira. Elira’s eyes blazed with anger, “What are you doing, coming into my house and banging on the door like you own the place?” Tyrek let out a bitter laugh, “so much for trying to surprise my girlfriend on our anniversary” “Anniversary?” Darius laughed, and noticed the velvet box on the bed, “and what do we have here?” Elira stepped towards the bed, picked up the jewelry box and opened it. She looked at the emerald necklace and scoffed, “it took you 3 months to plan on getting a $100 necklace for your supposed girlfriend? Pathetic!” With that, she threw the velvet box and the necklace on the floor. Tyrek’s eyes widened in shock, he shook his head and gave a dry laugh. “I can’t believe you threw away our one year relationship for a brief moment of pleasure.” “Oh please! You call that sham a relationship? More like a delusion. Did you really believe that I would stoop to the level of dating a common omega? Ha! In your dreams.” She stared at him dead in the eye, as she babbled on. “You made numerous promises to take care of me and my needs, yet you have nothing to show for it. You’re just unlucky and unfortunate.” She paused, “Even your mom lost her family the moment you came into this world. If I were in your position, I’d crawl into a hole and disappear for good, to reduce her burdens, but no! You’re a selfish and self-centered loser.” Tyrek looked at her like he had seen a ghost. He felt broken with every jab she took at him. These were his insecurities he confided in her about, and she turned around to use it against him. “That explains why his mom throws herself at every man, in the name of looking for a job. “ Darius chimed in, and this time, Tyrek’s wolf came forward without warning and jumped towards Darius. Darius was swift and he evaded the attack, transforming into his wolf form together with Elira’s transformation. They surrounded Tyrek and begun attacking him, one after the other until he transformed to his normal form, weak and unconscious. Darius took the liberty to drag him out of the house by the feet unto the sidewalk and threw him on the streets. Hours had passed before Tyrek regained consciousness and the first thing he heard was, [System activated.] [Subject: Tyrek.]
