Meet Lien
Chapter 1
Meet Lien
Viktor's POV
•••
For many murders is illegal, for me it's an art.
The blood is the paint,
and I'm the artist.
This world teaches you a lot of things. For me it taught not to trust. Even if someone is trustworthy.
My name is Viktor Ovich.
I'm a hitman.
I kill people, and always get the job done no matter what.
You, however, should stay the f**k out of my way unless you have a death wish.

"I want them all gone Viktor" Dima spoke as I took another sip from my whisky. "This is the second attack they attempt this f*****g month!" He yelled as I tried studying what the situation was.
Meet Dima Amelin, the worlds most feared mafia boss. Controls more than half of the world's mafia organizations, hitman contracts, imports and exports of drugs and weapons.
Dimitri lives in Los Angeles but travels a lot to Russia too. We help each other out often, I have done a few jobs for him and still am, and it looks pretty good so far.
I'm sure he wouldn't sacrifice his life for me, but I wouldn't either.
Not for anyone.
"Where was the last attack?" I asked trying to understand the rival's technique to know what I was up against.
"At my f*****g home, where Lien is supposed to be safe!" He yelled getting really worked up.
"Who the hell is Lien?" I asked not recognizing the name.
"My daughter.. but she wasn't there that night. We never told her" He spoke as his mood seemed to change a bit. He wasn't yelling anymore. He didn't even look me in the eyes. She has history behind her. But he didn't want to talk about it, if I had to guess she isn't his biological, since he isn't married or in any kind of relationship I'm aware of. I know that he is smart enough to not start a family and give others leverage to hold against him.
"How did they attack?" I asked.
"Explosives" He replied making me let out a small chuckle.
"What's so funny?" He asked seeming annoyed.
"You need me to take care of cowards who won't even fight face to face?" I chuckled amused at how the world's most feared man behaved.
"Says the hitman" He fired back.
"You see, I'm a hitman. I'm supposed to hit and run, that's my job. They on the other hand are a mafia organization. They are supposed to stand their grounds and protect their territory, not throw a bomb and hide" I said leaning back in my chair knowing that this would be easier than what I thought.
An enemy's tactic says a lot about them. You see, I would have thought that they were brave and intelligent had they used the bombs as plan A and kept a ground team as plan B. That would tell me more than anything else could about them. This however is just children's play. A 10 years old would be capable of getting a hold of a bomb and throwing it in a house.
"Okay Shakespeare, stop f*****g around. I want them gone as soon as possible" He said as I took another sip from my ice-cold drink.
"I need information. Names, addresses, anything to work with" I replied.
He opened the drawer besides him and took out a black file and threw it on the table.
"The rest is up to you, the faster you're done, the more zeros you'll find in your bank after that one" He said as I downed what was left in my glass and stood up shaking his hand.
"You'll hear from me soon, like always" I said as I turned around and walked away.

3.30 pm
After hours and hours of searching and planning I finally had enough information to confirm my suspicions and almost proceed to my next and favourite step. Action.
First, I had to talk to Dima.
I drove in the streets of LA with my sunglasses on and a cigarette in my hand. It was a habit I never put much thought into, but it sure as hell helped me relax. It saved me bullets from time to time as well.
When I finally arrived at his address I stopped in front of the gates where countless guards stood guarding. I recognized most of them due to being here so often lately. Come to think of it.. maybe too often...
"Nice seeing your ass here mate" Andrey, his head of security said as I nodded, and he opened the gate for me to drive inside.
Parking my heavenly matte black Lamborghini in front of the door and stepping out of the car remembering the days I didn't have money for food, when I ran away...
These thoughts do me no good now, but sometimes I'm unable to escape them.
I took a deep breath & walked inside the house to find Dima existing a room with a frown on his face.
"What are you doing here?" He asked walking over to the sofa and filling a glass of liquor as his eyes made contact with mine.
Vodka was his choice if I had to guess, what a nice day he must have had...
"I said I would get back to you, didn't I?" I replied as I took a seat on one of the large snow white, leather sofas.
"What have you got?" He asked taking a seat on another one.
"Apart from the fact that you have a rat, I have got a plan" I said making him almost choke on his drink.
"Who?" He asked coldly as he tightened his grip around the glass almost shattering it into hundreds of sharp pieces.
"That's above my pay grade" I replied not wanting to get any more involved in it. I kill and leave, nothing more, nothing less. I just happened to stumble across this information while doing my job.
"How did you know?" He asked causing me to let out a little chuckle on how he still haven’t figured it out himself.
What the hell was up his ass these days anyway?
He is the mafia god for f**k sake, he needs to be focused yet he has never been so unfocused in his life.
"I know you wouldn't give me false information about someone you wanted gone and try to set me up with the police. You're an honourable man Dima, but not stupid either" I said which I actually believed, for the time being at least.
As long as Dimitri needed me, he wouldn't do s**t to me.
He had an unreadable look on his face that I couldn't quite figure out. He was really good at hiding emotions and tricking people, so seeing him looking guilty a few minutes ago was something new. Keep in mind I have known Dima for years.
"Anyways, regarding the actual information. I have got nothing. There's not a single name here who I would kill that would matter to them" I said leaving this choice up to him. He could either do some more digging around or take a different approach, but that wasn't my problem to worry about. I just kill.
"Give me a few days, if nothing happens then you make the choice" He replied after a moment with his thick Russian accent.
"I have sent you the information I have got so far, it could be helpful" I said standing up as I took my keys and phone from the table beside me and put them in my pocket.
I started heading towards the door when my phone started ringing. I took it out of my pocket and looked down at it to find Andrey's name on the screen.
What the hell does he want? He's literally outside? Before I had a chance to think about it anymore I could feel something small hitting my chest. My reflexes quickly acted, and I held my arms out to catch the small figure that had just bumped into me.
I looked down to discover the most precious looking creature I had ever meet.
She had the most mesmerizing, dark eyes I had ever seen in my whole 28 years of existence.
She had plumb, cherry red lips that looked, and probably tasted sweet as hell, with short dark hair around her beautiful features.
As I held her figure in my arms, I noticed how small she was. She had such a small waist that could get crushed by my bare hands, and her whole body was probably up to the lowest point of my chest.
She looked like a little, innocent kid who would die of fright if she knew who the people she was standing in the same room with were.
"My apologizes" I said and helped her stand up on her own as she just stared into my eyes, as if she was trying to figure something out.
"Lien, meet Viktor Ovich" I heard Dima from behind me say as he stepped closer. "He's a good friend of mine" He spoke as I nodded once greeting her.
"Viktor meet Lien, my daughter" He introduced us. So… this is Lien huh?
It soon got awkward pretty quickly when we just stood there staring at each other, no one uttering a word. It wouldn't surprise me if the girl couldn't speak, she looked too innocent.
"I'll get going" I said looking at Dima who just nodded as I turned around once again and headed out.
Does she even know who her father is..?
