Sometimes his reputation served him well as being the smartest person in school. He was always the first on everybody's pick list for knowledge. No matter what capacity though, it remained that girls were just obstacles.
And then there was Jane.
This was an unknown area to Matthew, but part of the draw could have been her awkwardness and seemingly inability to fit in; just like him. He met her in orientation a year and a half ago; Ironically, over an incident of stumbling and dropping books and papers. They struck a chord with each other's gawkiness. She had been one of his best friends since. Unfortunately, she lived in the New West housing all the way across the other side of campus.
