Dear Diary, I’ve always adored the Christmas Holidays. They were my favorite, next to Thanksgiving. For me, it was the most special time in the year. We’d put lights on the house with grandpa, go to church with grandma. It was so exciting to attend the holy mass at midnight. It felt so magical. We’d spend the next day cooking, playing, spending time with each other and appreciating what we have. It’s painful to be here without his presence. I see him in every decoration we put up, hear his off-tune singing in every Christmas song that comes up on the radio. Grandma cries more often than I’ve seen her cry since his death.
