MASON BLAKE
"I don't know, I just needed to save you..."
Now I know why the vampires were in this part of the forest, this has never happened before. They know that I now have the contents of this box, and we can't stay in this place any longer.
I keep driving as fast as I can because we can't stay here any longer. I need to get Eve to safety and protect this box.
A long time ago, I was given the mission to protect this box, and it has always been safe with me, but now I see that this is different.
I'm leaving my home to go to a safe place and protect a human girl, which was never in my plans, but I can't leave her alone now because the vampires wouldn't hesitate to kill her like they tried last night.
I keep driving to the street that leads to Eve's house because we need to know if her father is all right, or I know she wouldn't agree to go with me.
Furthermore, I park the car, and we walk out into the woods together. I'm holding both guns in my hands as she continues to run towards her house.
I can smell blood, and I know there's something very wrong here, so I run after her before grabbing Eve's arm.
Furthermore, I'm about to tell her to go back, but the girl screams before she starts crying, and I turn my head to see her father lying on the ground near the door of the house.
"DAD!," she shouts, but this time I don't dare hold her back.
I see the girl kneeling next to her father's body. I get closer to see that the man is dead on the floor with a bloody body, there is a mark on his neck, and I see that all this was caused by the vampires.
She can't stop crying as she hugs the dead man, and I can understand her pain. Losing someone you love in this world is very painful, and I know how it feels because of my past.
I kneel next to her, not liking to see her like this. Eve continues to cry and scream, and this time I don't hesitate to put my hands on her back as a sign of comfort.
"Eve...", I am surprised when the girl starts hugging me tightly, and I close my eyes, touching her hair.
"He's dead, he's gone...", she cries at the same time, and I continue to hold her in my arms.
I know how much pain this girl is in right now, and I would do anything in the world to change that and take all the pain away from her, but I don't have that power, and I hate myself for it.
"I'm so sorry, Eve...", I whisper, feeling her squeeze my body as she continues to cry with her face against my chest.
"I can't do this, it hurts too much. He was everything to me, Mason.", she says, crying and looking at me with blue eyes full of tears.
"This world isn't normal; there's got to be a way to change it. Tell me there's a way to bring him back to life...", she pleads tearfully, and I nod, touching her wet face lovingly.
"No! No!" she screams, hitting my chest hard, but I don't care because I can understand the pain she's feeling right now.
"Everything's going to be all right, little girl...", I whisper, looking at her father's dead body.
He must have arrived very late the night before and had a horrible encounter with the vampires. I feel the anger growing inside me because I can't bear anyone hurting her like that.
"Make this pain go away, Mason! Please!", she screams, and I clench my fists, still listening to her begging me.
"You'll still get your revenge, sweetheart. I swear on my life that I'm going to find every vampire who did this, and I'm going to kill them slowly.", I say, hugging her tightly.
This is no longer a safe place, and I know she doesn't want to move away from her father, but he's dead, and she needs to move on, and that hurts a lot.
He was a good man, every night I saw him come home and hug his daughter with affection, and through the window every night I saw him bring her a beautiful flower. He was a good father.
To respect him, I started digging a very deep hole in the forest floor. I need to get her out of this place because the vampires could come back at any moment, but I need to do it for her.
I cover his body with a white sheet, and I raise my head to see her walking towards me with her eyes full of tears, and it breaks my heart into a thousand pieces.
Are you my partner, Eve?
I keep thinking about this question as I watch her kneel in front of his body and see her remove a necklace from the man's neck before placing the jewel around her neck.
"I'll always love you, Dad. You'll always be in my heart. I love you. I'm sorry, forgive me...", she whispers, and I blink my eyes, still looking at her.
Are you my girl? Are you the person I'll love more than anything in the world? I still don't have the answer to that question, but I will protect her with my life.
I walk away, leaving her to say goodbye to her father while I go into the house before grabbing a backpack and putting all her clothes inside. Furthermore, I also took a photo, and I know she'll like it.
Besides, I leave the house to see her putting flowers on her father's body, minutes later, I'm putting his body in the hole before I start burying him.
She's no longer screaming at this point, but inside the car, she's still crying silently and hugging her own body.
I want to touch her and tell her that everything will be all right because she's safe with me, and I'll always protect her, but I can't do that.
I keep driving away as fast as I can, and I grip the steering wheel tightly, listening to her cry quietly. Furthermore, I hate vampires, and I hate that she's like this.
Inside my mind, I'm thinking of thousands of ways to make vampires suffer for it.
My name is Mason Blake, I am the alpha wolf of the Blake pack, guardian and protector of the sacred sphere, and I swear I will hunt down all vampires because of it.
My mission now is to protect this girl, and I'm going to do it until the end.
I turn my head to look at the girl next to me, and I sigh before refocusing on the road and the place we're going now.
Don't worry, sweetie, you're safe now, and I won't let anything hurt you again.
