My spine went rigid as Chloe’s words registered.
“What are you implying by that accusation, Lady Chloe?” Lady Addison asked.
“I’m saying that someone here is not who they claim to be,” Chloe said.
I didn’t need to turn back to gauge how confident Chloe was in her accusation; I could tell from her voice alone just how sure she was.
I tried my best to be discrete as I turned to Cyn, and I could see that she was in just as much, if not more shock, than me. I grabbed her hand and pulled it into mine; I could feel how fast her heart was beating from the pulse on her wrist. I gave it a slight squeeze to have her focus on me. Her eyes snapped from the ground to meet mine before she took a deep breath to calm herself.
