Charlotte’s POV
“I have a question,” I said out loud.
We were sitting in the front of Audrey’s refrigerated truck, and the atmosphere was a bit awkward, with both Cyn and Audrey choosing not to speak.
“For me?” Audrey asked. I nodded my head. “You can ask me anything you want.”
“Why are you so willing to help me?” I asked.
I wasn’t curious, but after what Cyn had said earlier, I thought that maybe hearing Audrey’s reasoning would be enough for her to drip whatever suspicion she had against Audrey.
Audrey let out a small smile while still concentrating on the road. “I have to admit that you seem familiar to me. If I wasn’t sure that you didn’t grow up here, I would say that we were probably friends when we were younger.”
