The accident

964 Words
Rain was pouring down heavily. Roads started flooding due to water running down continuously. Lightning and thunder were scaring the people on the road. But Eva was not affected by these thunderstorms as a storm was growing in her heart. She was so sad and broken. She loved one man throughout her whole life and devoted her career and her life to him. She became a housewife despite being a gold medalist in business. Before her marriage, she used to support her father in his business and had won so many deals for her father. But after her marriage, she left everything behind and started living with Ethan. Every day she tries to impress him with her cooking skill and beauty. But Ethan remained indifferent. She was optimistic that one day he would start to care for her. But no use. All her hopes were gone. She was broken. Very much broken into tiny pieces. Her tears didn't stop trailing down her cheeks. She tried to gather her strength. She had to be strong for her son. Suddenly, a bright light came in front of her cab and made her blind enough to force her to close her eyes. Suddenly, a loud sound came, and Eva's cab collided with a large truck coming in front of them. With a sharp pain in her head, everything went blank, and darkness embraced her. An ambulance's siren and people's shouting were the only sounds dominating the thundering sound of rain. ---------------------------------------- Ethan was still at the party. He looked around but could not find his wife anywhere. He cursed silently, feeling anger taking over his brain. " Eva, where are you? " he gritted his teeth in rage. How could she be so irresponsible to leave just like that? He couldn't leave just like that with all the important people at his party. All the highly influenced personnel were present at his party. They were all his essential guests. Therefore, he had to build good relationships with influential people in the business world. Many of them were from different political parties. He had maintained good relationships with all the people who benefited from his business. After all, he was a businessman, and it wasn't easy to be as successful as Ethan Tylor. He had devoted his life to his business. And now he was enjoying his success, standing on top of it. These people all came here to share Ethan's happiness and success. It would be rude if he left them all alone to celebrate his success. Suddenly, his phone started ringing. He frowned at seeing some unknown number. He picked up, making an angry face. Someone asked from the other side, "Mr. Tylor? " " Yes? " Ethan replied, keeping his voice calm. "Please come to the city hospital soon. Unfortunately, your wife met with an accident." Hearing what another person was saying on the phone, Ethan stared at the phone shockingly. He couldn't believe his ears. A few minutes ago, Eva was standing in front of him, and he was shouting at her. This can't be true. 'Eva' His brain shouted her name, and he started running towards his car. Trevon followed behind him. " Hospital...... Eva....." Ethan was too shocked to form words properly, but Trevon got his hint. He sat behind the wheel and sped up the car towards the hospital. He got out of the car and ran inside the hospital. Trevon asked for Eva at reception and followed Ethan. He told him about her room. They found Eva's parents inside the hospital corridor, and Kat had already arrived. He asked about his wife. " Dad, where is she ?" Ethan asked with panic. " She met with a lethal accident. Doctors are operating on her. " Her father informed him that Eva was in the operating room. The pain started filling his heart after hearing this. " This is all because of you, Ethan. You made her life a living hell. So now all this is happening to her ... " Kat cried angrily, blaming Ethan. She was in so much pain to see her like that. " Miss Kat, please .... " Trevon stopped her from coming between them, blocking her view. Tension was increasing in silence. Nobody was able to form a single word. Eva's mother and Kat were crying, silently praying for her. Their beautiful Eva was fighting to the death in the operating room. She needed their prayers and good wishes. Everyone was praying in their hearts for Eva. Hours passed in a blink, but it was the most difficult for all of them to keep their patience at bay. Finally, the doctor said, "Operation went well, but we have to wait until she gains consciousness. Have faith and be positive." " When will she wake up, doctor? " Ethan asked worriedly. He was impatient now. He wanted to see her. To hear her voice. To feel her touch. " Can't say anything right now, Mr. Tylor. I don't want to give you false hope, but her condition is still critical. " Ethan broke down. Tears began to run down his eyes. His legs were so weak that he couldn't stand. He fell to his knees, hid his face in his palm, and sobbed silently. All the years of their marriage started passing in front of his eyes like a film. They, getting married, Eva being pregnant, giving birth to Grayson, her laughter filling his house, her cooking making his appetite larger, all these things came to his mind. He thought about their marriage. Their son. Their relationship. Their love? All went in a blink. That's not fair. Life wasn't fair. " I failed you, Eva . ..... I failed us... I am so sorry ....."
