WHO IS TO BLAME

Part 7

Early the next morning being a Sunday, Essie wakes up in hospital and no one was with her. Just then a nurse walks in and it happens to be the gossip nurse.

"Finally you are awake" said the nurse

"Who brought me here? I was having dinner and Rashid...how did i get here?" Asked Essie not recalling much.

"So Rashid is his name. He is a very good-looking man. He brought you here because you were poisoned and unconcious" said the nurse

"Where is he?" Asked Essie

"Oh something terrible happened here last night and he had to leave. Wait let me show you" said the nurse and took out her phone from her pocket and after a quick search of the video, she found it.

"Watch this" said the nurse and handed her phone to Essie who followed up the video to the end and was in tears.

"Dad! He is the culprit?" Said Essie softly and cried.

"Where is dad?" Asked Essie to the nurse.

"Both your parents left last night and said they'd come in the morning and have not yet arrived" explained the nurse.

"Please i need to be discharged. Was my bill settled?" Asked Essie and the nurse nodded in agreement.

"Yes your bill was settled but you cant go just as yet" said the nurse.

"Call the doctor for me" said Essie and when the nurse left, she quickly dressed up in her clothes which were next to the bed on a table and quickly left the hospital. She found her purse next to her clothes and rushed outside to find her car at the parking lot.

"Rashid might have come with it" said Essie and got in the car. She was not so well and felt alittle dizzy but she still drove. The doctor and the nurse dint find her at the ward and got tensed.

"What will i tell mr William?" Asked the doctor particularly to no one.

"Bad news!" Exclaimed the nurse after noticing Mr William at the reception desk with his wife.

"Yes i know its bad news but what do we do" said the doctor who had not seen what the nurse saw.

"Sir bad news! Mr William is at the reception desk and now he is heading this way" said the nurse and now the doctor shivered in fear.

"What do we do?" Asked the doctor but just then Mr William got in.

"Hello doctor, where is my daughter?" Asked Mr William looking at the hospital bed which was empty.

"Sir...sir... she... she escaped" stammered the doctor in fear

"What? What did you just say? My daughter escaped and you have guards at the door? How did she escape? Why did you let her escape?" Asked Mr William angrily almost hitting the doctor

"She asked me to call the doctor and i went. I dint know she would escape. She might be at home" said the nurse in fear as Mrs William tried to reach her daughter's phone.

"She is not picking up " said Wanjiku

"If i dont find my daughter, i repeat if i dont find my daughter...to Hell with your hospital. I'll make sure it goes down!" Said Mr William and left the ward with his wife still trying to reach Essie's phone.

"What do we do? Why did you leave her alone? If this hospital goes down, i swear you...arrgh" said the doctor and left the ward.

"Now what did i do wrong here?" Said the nurse wondering alone in the ward.

Essie on the other hand arrived at Rashid's home and parked her car. She was feeling dizzy but still managed to walk though not steadily. She had hardly reached his door when Fatuma came out in Rashid's towel and made a tired yawn infront of Essie.

"Where is Rashid?" Asked Essie

"Oh you are here asking for Rashid? Aren't you feeling guilty about what your father did to this family? Have some shame Esther" said Fatuma

"You...should... be the one ashamed... walking around...in a towel...in a man's house" said Essie struggling with words due to her dizzy stature.

"Ashamed? Why would i be ashamed when he saw me naked all night giving himself some pleasure" said Fatuma smiling

"You are a liar" said Essie

"Why would i lie to you? He should be out fishing by now but instead he is still asleep due to the night's job. It was really tiresome but enjoyable" said Fatuma and smiled more seeing the hurt look on Essie. She was starting to see blurred when Rashid walked out shirtless and she got even more hurt. She lost balance and fell but Rashid reached on time to hold her but she lost unconsciousness. Rashid took her in his arms in a bridal style and took her in the house to his room and on his bed. He was watching her sleep when he noticed Fatuma in his towel.

"Why are you in my towel?" Asked Rashid

"Oh sorry. I wanted to take a bath and dint have any towel so i took yours. Am sorry" said Fatuma pretending to be really sorry.

"Its okay you can have a shower with it. I have another one" said Rashid and looked back at Essie who was sleeping beautifully. Fatuma watched at how he looked at her and gor irked.

"Rashid i made breakfast. You should have it before it gets cold. I'll wake princess up" said Fatuma who had made the towel shorter for Rashid to see her thighs but he dint even look at her.

"Okay thanks Fatuma" said Rashid who still looked at Essie. Fatuma went away angry and woke up princess to have breakfast. Rashid kept looking at Essie and smiled. He even forgot to have breakfast.

"Is she becoming more beautiful by day or its just my eyes?" Asked Rashid to himself and smiled. Fatuma took a shower and found princess having breakfast alone.

"Is Rashid still with her?" Asked Fatuma trying to provoke princess.

"Who?" Asked princess unaware that Essie is in Rashid's room.

"Oh i forgot to tell you. That lady whose family made you poor is in Rashid's room" said Fatuma who had narrated everything to princess.

"What is she doing here?"asked an irritated princess trying to head to the room but Fatuma stops her.

"What are you going to do?"Asked Fatuma

"Am going to get her out" said princess

"Not like that princess. Lets give her some dust. She'll go away on her own. Let me check if she is awake" said Fatuma and peeped in Rashid's room only to find the two sitting closely while chatting.

"Am sorry about the food poisoning Esther. I dont know how it happened" said Rashid looking away.

"No Rashid i should be the one to apologise. Am really sorry. I dint know that my father was the one who made your life miserable. I really dont know how to face you. Am ashamed" said Essie not facing him directly.

"Essie i understand but its not your fault. Your dad made a mistake but we dont know why he did that. Its fine with me" said Rashid honestly and Essie was shocked. She dint expect that from him at all. She was about to hug him when they heard Fatuma scream and Rashid ran out to see her on the floor.

"What happened here?" Asked Rashid followed by Essie.

"Aunt Fatuma fell and sprained her leg" said princess.

"Here hold my hand and stand" said Rashid passing his hand towards her but she faked leg pain and Rashid had to carry her and placed her on the small sofa. He massaged her leg and asked whether it was okay but she faked more pain and Rashid continued to massage her as she faked moans.

Essie got upset and went back to pick her purse and left quickly.

"Hey Essie where are you going?" Asked Rashid trying to follow her but Fatuma asked him to continue massaging her leg for it was painful. Essie started her car and left in a hurry.

"Is it okay now?" Asked Rashid and Fatuma nodded in agreement. Rashid left for his room as Fatuma and princess made a high five and winked happily.

"Its now time to go out for a picnic. Just wait and i'll convince him" said princess sitting next to Fatuma.

"Whats wrong with me? Why am i getting irritated at that sight? He is not my boyfriend after all" said Essie to herself and saw that Rashid was trying to call her. She sighed before picking up and giving a hello.

"Essie why did you leave in such a way?" Asked Rashid on the phone.

"Sorry i just need to talk to my dad really quick and am driving we'll talk later" replied Essie and hang up.

"Whats wrong with her? Why is she showing me attitude?" Asked Rashid to himself and dropped the phone on his mattress before heading to open up his butchery.

Essie arrived home and gave a sigh before going in the mansion.

"Esther! Where have you been? We have been worried" said Mr William not so angry.

"Worried indeed!" Said Esther taking off her heels and throwing her purse on the expensive sofa.

"What do you mean by worried indeed? We were really worried" said her mother Wanjiku.

"Worried? Really mom? Inspite of you knowing that i was at the hospital admitted, you dint bother to stay with for the night. You came back home" yelled Essie

"We had business to handle my dear but we..." said Wanjiku but Essie cut in.

"But what mom? All you care about is your business. What about me? And you dad, you hit that guy yet he saved my life. If it weren't for him i would have died by now. That reminds me, why did you kill Rashid's parents? Why did you take away their mansion?" Asked Essie so angry.

"Your daughter can raise voice on me now" said Mr William

"Shut up Essie! He is your father" said Wanjiku.

"Am ashamed mom. He snatched someone's wealth and calls himself a bread winner? Why did you do that dad?" Asked Essie who broke down.

"You want to know? Then listen!" Said Mr William in a harsh voice and Esther sat down to listen.

"Dont say it darling" said Wanjiku

"No Wanjiku. Let her listen. Yes i took their mansion and sold it. I also tried killing Abdalla and his family but i dont know how his kids survived it" said Mr William

"Why dad? Why kill Mr Abdalla?" Asked Essie sounding calm.

"Love. Do you think it dint pain me? Do you think i was happy to kill people i loved? Abdalla was my bestfriend from childhood. We studied in one school in Lamu and everyone wanted to imitate our friendship. We were like brothers from different mothers. One day, during Eid, i met Salma Rahman a very beautiful muslim lady. She was out with her friends to celebrate Eid and i fell in love at first sight. We were done with schooling by then and looking for a job was hectic.Abdalla was the first person i told about Salma and i asked him to help me reach to her for i was not a muslim like him. Abdalla offered to help and after showing the girl to him, he approached her and made us meet. Salma came to me and told me to build my life first then she'll agree to be mine. I asked to wait for me and i went abroad to work where i met Wanjiku. Wanjiku wanted me to marry her but i told her that someone else is waiting for me. I thought Salma was going to wait for me so i worked hard and made alot of money. I came back really happy and the first person i looked for was Abdalla. I was shown to a beautiful mansion which belonged to him and i was happy that my friend had made it in life. I knocked on his door happily but what i saw made me shutter into a million pieces" said Mr William and pain was written all over his face.

"What did you see dad?" Asked Essie now getting touched by the story.

"Abdalla betrayed me! Salma was pregnant for him and all he could say was i can explain William. What was there to explain?" Said Mr William

Flashback:

"I went away for two years and you decided to betray me? You could have atleast gone with another man and not my bestfriend. Abdalla, i trusted you. Why did you do this to me?" Asked William dropping the gifts he had brought for his friend.

"William its not what you think. I can explain" said Abdalla

"There is nothing to explain Abdalla. I've seen how you really loved your friend. You took the love of my life away from me and now i'll take everything away from you. I promise you" said William and left the mansion.

End of flashback.

"I left for abroad once i again and i married Wanjiku who never gave up on me. She also got pregnant with you but still Abdalla's betrayal hurt me. Wanjiku then decided to help me get revenge. When you were in highschool, we left you abroad and came here to clear the air for both of us. We were soon going to have our business here and we dint want to get distracted. Thats why Wanjiku helped me to take their mansion and after i got it, i sold it and bought our mansion. But Abdalla and Salma were still happy and they got themselves another child. It hurt me more and Wanjiku said that we should ruin their lives completely for me to be happy. Wanjiku only cared about my happiness and i decided to return it back by killing them. I thought if i kill them then i would stop seeing them and i wont feel suffocated anymore. I thought i would then be free to be happy with Wanjiku and thats why i killed them. I saw their ship explode and i was happy because my enemies were out of my way. Now you know. Yes am a murderer. I killed his parents and i dont care if you are ashamed. Am your father and you'll do as i say. Stay away from that boy. Even if he saved your life just stay away from him" said Mr William in pain and left for his room.

"Are you happy now that you made your father angry?" Said Wanjiku hurt and followed her husband. Essie sat there for a while in tears. She then wiped her tears and left the mansion forgetting to pick her shoes. She got in her car and left quickly.
