WHO IS TO BLAME

Part 6

It was finally evening and Essie got ready for her thank you outing. She dressed in a short white flare dress with blue butterflies drawn on it. She put on blue heels and left her hair fall freely. She added on a blue denim jacket.

"Dad am going out for a moment. Its Saturday today, can i skip supper please?" Begged Essie to her dad who was busy with his phone.

"Just go Essie i know you'll cry and make a scene but be back by 10pm" said her father.

"Thank you dad. Bye mom" said Essie to her mother who was busy with a laptop. Rashid had already sent her the location and she arrived at exactly 6:30pm. She packed her white Mercedes Benz and walked down the shore to the place she was having a picnic with her friends and almost drowned. The sand was making it difficult for her to walk in heels and she had to remove them. She saw the place was quiet and there was a small table with two chairs under an umbrella.

"Hi Essie" said someone behind her and she turned to see Rashid dressed in what she bought for him.

"Hi Rashid. I wasnt sure if they'll fit you but they do. You look great" said Essie

"Blue is my favourite colour followed by white and you brought it how i like it" said Rashid who was in a white wide arms vest with a blue denim jacket and a blue jeans trouser pencil fitted. Essie smiled at how hot he looked in those clothes as he moved closer.

"I see you also dressed in blue and white. You look great" said Rashid again and led the way to the dinner table and made her sit down.

"Where is princess?" Asked Essie

"She went out with Fatuma. I'll get food for us" said Rashid and stood up heading to a place just around where he had covered with coconut leaves. There was a guitar and two hot pots of food. He had prepared rice and chicken soup which he served for both of them.

"Sorry I couldn't prepare special food for you" said Rashid

"Are you kidding me? I love rice not to mention chicken. Did you cook all this?" Asked Essie

"Yes. I cooked it right there" said Rashid pointing to where the guitar was.

"Is that your guitar?" Asked Essie

"Yes its mine but i dont know how it got here. Maybe i brought it but forgot" said Rashid.

"That means you can play it. Can you play it for me?" Asked Essie with a please look.

"Okay but you have to eat else the food will get cold" said Rashid and picked up his guitar. He pulled his chair away and played the guitar as Essie picked up her spoon to eat. He Played the guitar and decided to sing bruno Mars's song just the way you are.

"Oh her eyes her eyes makes the stars look like that they are not shining

Her hair her hair

Falls perfectly without her trying

She's so beautiful and i tell her every day

I can kiss..." sang Rashid as he played the guitar but stopped suddenly when Essie stopped smiling and kept an expression of pain. She held her stomach and gave a small shout out pain.

"Essie, whats wrong? What happened?" Asked Rashid who ran beside her but Essie said nothing instead held her stomach and her eyes began locking up slowly.

"Dont close your eyes Essie. I'll take you to hospital" said Rashid and carried her in his arms ans rushed to her car. He looked for her car keys and found them in her purse and started the car. He had learnt driving since he was young and i a dint of a second he was at the hospital and she was Rashid to the theatre.

"What happened to her?" Asked the doctor in charge

"She was eating when she suddenly held her stomach in pain. I dont know whats wrong" said Rashid and the doctor ran in with a few nurses.

"She is Esther Nyaboke. I'll call her father" said one of the nurses after seeing her and went out to make a call.

Rashid sat on the bench worried. He stood up after every few seconds. One could think the bench had bedbugs. He acted that way until finally the doctor came to him.

"What happened?" Asked Rashid

"Food poisoning" said the doctor

"Food poisoning? How is that possible? How is she?" Asked Rashid confused.

"She is fine. They'll be taking her to the ward and you can meet her there" said the doctor and just as he was about to go, Esther's parents arrived. Esther was being shifted by then.

"Doctor what happened to my daughter? Her name is Esther Nyaboke" said Esther's father.

"Food poisoning sir. Thanks to the guy who rushed her here. She is fine now and is being taken to ward number 2. Go straight and take a left" said the doctor and the parents left quickly to see their only child.

"You! You are the one who poisoned my daughter" said Esther's father so angry making Rashid turn to face him.

"You! Its you. You are that man who snatched our mansion. It was you" said Rashid standing up and holding Mr William's collar and pinning him to the wall. Esther was unconcious and dint see the fight that went on. The nurse who called mr William was recording the whole thing until some other nurses came in.

"How dare you touch my daughter? You tried to poison her and now you are attacking me?" Said mr William also holding Rashid's collar.

"You killed my parents and took our mansion. I wont spare you" said Rashid and knocked Mr William on the nose with his head making him almost fall on his daughter. The war between them had attracted many at the door and William's wife Wanjiku was getting irritated.

"What are you looking at, stop them!" Shouted Mrs Williams and now the doctor who just came in and nurses got in between them and separated them taking them outside. The doctor was really mad at them.

"Why are you two behaving like kids? For God's sake this is a hospital. Wanna show your muscles, go to the boxing ring and fight but not in my hospital" said the doctor angrily and the two were both quiet as the doctor went in.

"You are lucky you are Esther's father. Otherwise i wouldn't spare you" said Rashid still angry.

"I dint know you are Abdalla's son but now i know. This is not over yet boy. Wait for the climax" said Mr William

"We'll see who goes down old man" said Rashid and left angrily while Mr William went into the ward to meet her child. Finally the air was cool.

Rashid arrived home really angry. Princess was still sitting with Fatuma waiting for Rashid who went past them and straight to bed.

"Whats with him?" Asked Princess

"I dont know what happened but i guess its the girl they went out with" said Fatuma

"You mean miss Essie?" Asked princess and Fatuma nodded.

"Did you feel bad when they went out?" Asked princess and Fatuma nodded sadly

"Dont worry. Tommorrow i'll talk to Rashid to take you out too. Dont be sad" said princess and hugged Fatuma.

"You too should go to bed princess Halima. I'll check up on Rashid" said Fatuma and put princess to bed before heading to Rashid's room finding him shirtless and angry. He sat on his bed holding his parents' pictures and was in tears.

"Rashid what happened?" Asked Fatuma and Rashid noticed her presence. He dropped the picture and went to her side hugging her in tears.

"She thought she would be the only one to hug him shirtless? She's wrong" thought Fatuma as she hugged Rashid back. She smiled at her thought and caressed his back.

"Rashid what happened? Am your bestfriend you can talk to me" said Fatuma who dint want to break from the hug but Rashid broke it instead and she hot irked.

"Fatuma why is this world so unfair? Why cant i ever be happy?" Asked Rashid sitting back on his bed.

"What do you mean by that statement?" Asked Fatuma and Rashid narrated everything that happened that evening during dinner and at the hospital.

"I knew she was no good to you and princess. Just stay away from her" said Fatuma

"Esther is not at fault. She knows nothing about what her father did" said Rashid.

"Still her family is not good. Her father will use her to get to you and will harm you and princess" said Fatuma but Rashid asked her to leave him alone.

"You might not listen to me Rashid but i'll make you hate her. For now, i'll make princess hate her and then you'll follow. You only belong to me Rashid. Only me" thought Fatuma and smiled heading to princess's room.
