"Mr. Lester, I'll head back home first then. Thanks for 'rescuing' me just now!" Chloe was instantly alive the immediate moment she left the restaurant.
Culver looked at Chloe amusingly and asked, "Didn't you say that you would accompany me to my office? Why are you heading back now all of a sudden?"
Chloe was now walking along the streets happily. Noticing Culver's gaze on her, she asked puzzledly, "Wasn't that an excuse you came up with in order to get out of the awkward situation back there?"
"Ha ha..."
Culver didn't expect that Chloe would have thought that what he said was an excuse. He said to her attentively, "I really do have something to deal with in the office. As for you, I was worried that you'll get sick from stuffing more food down your throat."
