### The Billionaire Who Rejected Me

Amelia Carter thought she had finally found the man she would spend the rest of her life with.

Damian Blackwood was everything she had ever dreamed of—and everything she should have known to fear.

At thirty, Damian was one of the most powerful billionaires in the country. Cold, ruthless, arrogant, and practically untouchable, he had built the Blackwood Group into a business empire that made other wealthy families look insignificant.

Yet behind closed doors, he was different with Amelia.

For two years, he had made her believe she was the only woman he wanted.

He promised her forever.

He gave her a ring.

And on the morning of their wedding, Amelia walked down the aisle believing she was about to become Mrs. Blackwood.

She was wrong.

The church doors suddenly opened.

Damian walked in holding another woman's hand.

Victoria Hayes.

Amelia's best friend.

And Victoria was wearing Amelia's wedding dress.

In front of hundreds of guests, Damian ended their engagement and announced that he was marrying Victoria instead.

Amelia begged him for an explanation.

His answer destroyed her.

"You were never the woman I wanted."

Humiliated and heartbroken, Amelia walked away from the man she loved without shedding a single tear.

But Damian didn't know that the woman walking out of that church would never be the same woman who walked into it.

Three years later, Amelia returns.

She's no longer the innocent young woman who trusted everyone around her. She's intelligent, confident, wealthy, and powerful—and she's built an empire of her own.

More importantly, she's no longer beneath Damian.

She's his competitor.

When Damian discovers that the mysterious businesswoman threatening to take over one of his company's most valuable markets is Amelia Carter, he is stunned.

The woman he abandoned is now the one person standing between him and the greatest business deal of his career.

But business isn't the only thing that has changed.

Damian begins noticing things he ignored before.

The confidence in Amelia's eyes.

The strength in her voice.

The way she no longer trembles when he enters a room.

And, most dangerously of all, the realization that he may have made the biggest mistake of his life.

For the first time, Damian wants the woman he once rejected.

But Amelia wants nothing to do with him.

Or at least that's what she tells herself.

Because despite everything Damian did, her heart remembers the man she once loved.

As Damian attempts to get back into her life, Amelia discovers that the story behind their broken engagement isn't what she believed.

Someone had deliberately manipulated their relationship.

Someone had hidden secrets from Damian.

Someone had spent years making sure Amelia and Damian would never discover the truth.

And Victoria knows far more than she is willing to admit.

Then Amelia uncovers an even darker secret.

Her father's financial collapse years ago, Damian's sudden rise to power, Victoria's connection to the Blackwood family, and the betrayal that destroyed her wedding are all connected.

What began as a broken romance becomes a dangerous game of secrets, revenge, ambition, and desire.

Amelia must decide whether revenge is worth sacrificing the last pieces of her heart.

Damian must face the consequences of the choice he made three years ago.

And Victoria will do anything to keep the truth buried—even if it means destroying Amelia for good.

But when enemies become allies, allies become traitors, and old feelings begin resurfacing, Amelia realizes that revenge isn't going according to plan.

Because the one man she swore never to love again may be the only person capable of protecting her.

And the one woman she trusted most may be the person who wants her dead.

Damian once told Amelia that she was never the woman he wanted.

Now he'll have to prove that he can live without her.

The question is...

**Will Amelia forgive the billionaire who broke her heart?**

Or will she take everything he loves—including his empire—and walk away forever?

Sometimes the greatest revenge isn't destroying the person who hurt you.

Sometimes it's becoming the one person they can never afford to lose.

Chapter 1: The Wedding That Never Happened
Chapter 1: The Wedding That Never Happened The first thing I noticed was the silence. Not the peaceful kind. The kind that made hundreds of people stop breathing at the same time. I stood at the altar in my white wedding dress, my fingers trembling around a bouquet of roses. Then the church doors opened. Everyone turned. So did I. And my heart shattered. Damian Blackwood walked into the church. But he wasn't alone. His hand was wrapped around another woman's waist. My best friend. Victoria Hayes. My eyes moved slowly from Damian to Victoria. She was wearing a white wedding dress. My wedding dress. The same dress I had chosen six months ago. The same dress Damian had once told me made me look like an angel. "Damian?" My voice barely escaped my throat. His eyes met mine. There was no guilt in them. No hesitation. Only coldness. He walked toward me. "Tell me this is a joke," I whispered. "Amelia—" "Tell me." The church remained completely silent. My mother was crying. My father had lowered his head. Damian reached into his jacket and pulled out a black envelope. He handed it to me. "What is this?" "Our engagement agreement." I stared at him. "What about it?" "I'm ending it." My stomach dropped. "Today?" "Yes." "But we're getting married today." "I know." I gave a nervous laugh. "Damian, stop." He looked directly into my eyes. "I'm marrying Victoria." Everything around me disappeared. I looked at Victoria. She gave me a small smile. "Why?" I asked. She stepped closer. "Because he loves me." I looked back at Damian. "Is that true?" There was a brief silence. Then he answered. "Yes." My eyes burned. "But you told me you loved me." "I was wrong." Four words. Four words that destroyed two years of my life. I felt hundreds of eyes staring at me. Everyone was waiting for me to cry. To beg. To fall apart. But I refused to give them that satisfaction. I slowly placed my bouquet on the altar. "If you love her so much," I said quietly, "why did you wait until today?" Damian's expression changed for a second. Then Victoria answered. "Because today everyone needs to know the truth." "What truth?" She smiled. "You were never the woman Damian wanted." Something inside me broke. Damian turned away. "Leave." I stared at him. "This is my wedding." "Not anymore." He walked toward Victoria. I watched the man I loved choose another woman in front of everyone. Then something strange happened. I smiled. Damian stopped. Victoria frowned. "What are you smiling about?" I looked directly at Damian. "You just made the biggest mistake of your life." His eyes hardened. "Is that a threat?" "No." I turned toward the church doors. "It's a promise." Then I walked away. I didn't know where my life would go from there. But I knew one thing. The woman who walked into that church had died that day. And the woman who walked out would never allow anyone to humiliate her again. Three years later... "Miss Carter?" I looked up from my desk. "Yes?" My assistant stood nervously at the door. "The Blackwood Group has requested your presence at their headquarters." I frowned. "Why?" She hesitated. "Mr. Blackwood specifically asked for you." My heart skipped. After three years, Damian Blackwood wanted to see me. I closed the folder on my desk. "Tell him I'll come." As I looked at my reflection in the window, I smiled. The frightened girl from that wedding was gone. I had rebuilt myself. And now Damian Blackwood was calling me. But this time, I wasn't his abandoned fiancée. I was his biggest competitor. And he had no idea what was coming.
