Classroom lessons

The queen gathered her dishes from breakfast up. "Tegan you are due to be in your classes soon so run along and head off." Tegan kissed her mother's cheek and left the garden. Doing her fairy classes was the favorite part of her day. Today her favorite elder was teaching too. Elder fairy Marlon was rumored to be the first fairy to master learning all five elements. His wings were a dark blue and ancient rune tattoos on both his arms. If she was being completely honest she had always had a huge crush on him since she was a little girl.

Marlon was originally from the same kingdom as her mother the Silver Lake kingdom. He passed all of the exams require to become an elder before he even turned twenty one. There were rumors that he had some sort of royal blood but nothing had ever been proven. As she walked into the classroom the flower trail was still springing forth with each of her steps. Thankfully she wasn't the only one having trouble controlling a new power today. Her friend Perri who displayed water powers mostly had rainbow bubbles that floated from her fingers randomly.

Perri sat down on the stool next to her. "So you have flowers now? Wasn't last week something with flowers too?" Tegan laughed "Yes, last week I had flowers growing in my hair. I think I'm going through some strong gardening powers or something. When did the bubbles start for you?" "Yesterday," replied Perri. "I sneezed and several flew out my nose." They both starting cracking up laughing but stopped as soon as they saw Marlon walk into the room. Looking around the room there were quite a few other fairies that seemed to be struggling with something new.

Blayne who was a fire fairy had smoke pouring out of his nose like some kind of fire breathing dragon. Corabell who was a light fairy kept vanishing completely then reappearing, she seemed rather annoyed by the whole thing. Ashton had snowflakes appear every time his silver wings fluttered, it was starting to look like he would be a winter fairy. Jasmine seemed to have sprouted antlers from her golden blonde locks. Gavin had black bird wings today instead of his normal white fairy wings.

Marlon surveyed the class with a raised eyebrow. "Well, I see all of you seem to have developed something new since the last class." He sounded amused. Marlon loved seeing the different abilities develop and training them on how to better use their gifts. Today he was wearing deep black robes that made his blue wings really stand out.

Tegan's favorite thing about their class was the fact that everyone came from different kingdoms with the exception of herself and Perri. Marlon made some notes of everyone's newest powers before getting ready to start the lessons for the day. Marlon went around the room discussing each new power and demonstrating how to harness each one. Blayne went from breathing smoke to being able to conjure a small flame inside of his palm.

Corabell could now control when she vanished. Ashton accomplished creating a snowball out of thin air. Jasmine's antlers disappeared and Gavin's wings went back to their beautiful white color. Perri was still struggling with her rainbow bubbles so she was sent home with some extra practice work. Tegan managed to quit creating flowers with every step. While the rest of the class was filing out of the room Marlon requested that Tegan stay behind for a moment.

Tegan got a nervous flutter in her stomach at his request. After all meeting with an elder was rather intimidating. "Tegan, I wanted to let you know that I feel like your powers are really improving. I know you're nervous about receiving your birthday prophecy but I think that no matter what you discover you'll be able to handle it." Tegan bowed her head in respect at his words then left the classroom so she could get ready to meet up with her suitor later
