Sometimes in life , tiny bumps adds up into something we call feelings; then with good communication, trust and understanding love comes in, but it still need to grow. Also, we may meet someone in a day and all your griefs and misery seem to have abdicated the throne they own in our heart and soul. I am Onomoghen and this is my story. I embarked on a little journey to Delta state with a stranger I knew nothing about but her name. The worms in my stomach have been growling but hunger seem different from the sensation I felt in my heart. My mother had sent me on a love tour; the best errand I have ever embarked on, and if it continues like this; I will definitely top the list of the most obedient son in the world, I thought. After many hours; we were back from our long lasted journey, I was sure not to miss any detail of myself in our discussion althrough. It was the early hours of the evening; the dusk just arrived. I wanted to see her off to her house before I go back home but she halted and requested I return to my abode. I insisted but she stared at me as if I was already stalking her and she feels embarrassed by my kind gesture, so I opted out. She took out a pen and wrote something at the back collar of my shirt which I could only see when I take my clothes off, then we parted ways. I have suddenly forgotten my ordeal with the youth; the pain and uncertainty that surfaced my people, I was slowly driven by something extraordinarily different from mere attraction. I couldn't wait to get home and take off my my shirt.I was already feeling something unusual in my chest like collywobbles. I couldn't handle the anxiety in heart; it was like a burning sweet sensation occuring at the same time. After few minutes of running, with the excitement in my my heart like that of a little boy who had claimed the top position in his class and couldn't wait to share the good news to his parent; I was home , ran into my room without noticing anyone or the fact that my mum had been waiting for my arrival in the parlour. Almost immediately, I took off my shirt to read what she had written on it. I didn't mind if the ink would be tough to wash off, it's the best shirt I have. She directed me to check my back pockets as she had written. I dipped my hands into my pocket and I found money in there, I couldn't remember when she put them but I wasn't sure money was what I wanted , though the money would sort alot of things but I would have rejected it; trying to prove I didn't help out to be paid afterwards. Being disappointed, with an awkward look on my face, I threw the money on the bed, I noticed a paper fell off, seem to have been placed in between the money. I picked it up and read the content. In it, she had requested I meet her by the river side the next day. I was so happy that I kissed the paper severally. Meanwhile, My mother was just standing at the entrance of my room. She walked in and sat on my bed staring at me. She said she wouldn't ask me about my recent strange behavior; as I stood still trying to avoid staring at her. After few minutes, she left without saying anything again. I looked at my bed and noticed only few notes of the money was left, I shook my head as I smiled, "you can't trust African women with money" numbed my brain. After all she probably needed money more than I do, but all that mattered to me then was the memories from my recent adventure of the day that kept clouding my mind.
