Damon's POV
We're all in class, in our separate classes, when we suddenly hear the announcement blaring through the public address system. Her voice echoes through every speaker in the school, shaky and wrong, saying things that make my blood run cold.
I'm in the middle of a calculus test but the moment I hear her confessing to murder, to killing her own mother, I drop my pencil and bolt from my seat. The teacher yells after me but I don't stop, don't even slow down. I burst through the classroom door and run down the hallway, my heart pounding so hard it feels like it's going to explode out of my chest. I can hear footsteps behind me and I know without looking that it's Kai, River, and Zane, all of us racing toward the main office where her voice is coming from.
