The boys who yelled at me last night and helped me out, especially Zane, turned to face the officers with cold fury in their eyes. Zane steps forward, his tall frame radiating authority even though he's just wearing jeans and a gray hoodie.
"You have no right to trace someone all the way from where they're living based on speculation you just heard," he says firmly, his voice carrying that alpha edge that makes weaker wolves submit. "Where's your actual evidence? Where's your probable cause? You can't just show up at someone's home and drag them away because some jealous ex-girlfriend filed a false report."
