Third Person POV "I am going to ask one last time, is that all you know?" A man who looked like a sun god with his good looks and full golden hair that brushed the tops of his collar asked as he towered over the sniverling figure on his knees in front of him. "I swear it Lucas, that is all i know. They are coming today and her birthday is in four months, That is when he intends on making a move and if that is unsuccessful he intends to try again the next month." the figure on the ground cried and tensed up. He breathed in relief as the man walked away from him but before he could raise his head. "... I am going to need one more little favour from you..." He said with his back to the kneeling man. "... Rita." he said and a cloaked figure came forward. The kneeling man looked up and shook his head while shivering, his eyes wide with fear. "...Please no, i will do anything." ****** “They are here.” Aslan growled and his brothers turned to look at him. He was a natural leader and it showed in the relationship he had with his brothers and his peers, besides being the first of the triplets he exerted an influence over everyone around him. “I cannot believe that dad would do something like this and sully Mom’s memory.” Azazel sulked. “Forget mom’s memory, that woman is a human, aren’t there laws against that?” Aslan pointed out, his jade green eyes narrowing in annoyance. “He is an adult and he has been without a wife for so long, he is bound to want some company.” Ajax The pragmatic one shrugged. “Maybe she would only put out if he married her.” Azazel said in jest and his brothers ignored him. “Why did she have to come along with her daughter? I bet they are just a couple of fortune hunters who go around trying to weasel their way into the hearts of lonely wealthy men.” Aslan complained “We should find a green snake and slip it in her bed while they are still at dinner” Azazel grinned evilly, his bad mood perked up by the thought of carrying out his mischievous plan. “Why do you have to always be so juvenile?” Azazel asked in exasperation. “Not everything is a joke.”. “Well, because I am juvenile… and everything is a joke.” Ajax answered with a smirk. “I wish we did not have to meet them at all.” Azazel complained and turned away from his brother. “If we don’t then dad is going to be upset with us and you know how badly that could go. We just have to bid our time and let things fall in place themselves.” Lia POV “Lia. Meet my sons Aslan. Ajax and Azazel. Boys, meet your new step sister.” Zach said and all three of them continued to stare at me with disdain written all over their handsome faces and i frowned back at them refusing to be cowed then I turned and glared at my mother. So she had already met them but I did not get an opportunity to vet the guy my mom wanted to marry? It was like I was unimportant and decisions were just made on my behalf without any consideration for me and my feelings. Turning to see three pairs of cold green eyes still on me I could already figure out that they thought mom and I were interlopers who were here to ruin their happy little family life. well, I too did not want to be here and I certainly did not want some disgusting boys as my step brothers anyway even if they looked as gorgeous as members of a teenage pop trio. As I watched them their eyes glazed over then as if on cue all reluctantly mumbled “you are welcome.” What weirdos, I thought to myself before I rolled my eyes and looked at my mom as if to tell her “look what you brought us into.” “Well, Agnes made a delicious looking feast for us so let us not just admire it, let’s tuck in shall we?” Zachary said and I smiled genuinely. I did not need to be told twice, everything on the table looked fantastic and smelled nice plus I was starving after rejecting snacks on the plane. I loaded potatoes, meat, vegetables and cheesy pasta on my plate and started eating then I realized that I was being stared at, I lifted my eyes and glared at their handsome faces that were marred by scowls as they sat stiffly and watched me like I was some hungry pauper brought off the street into their palace. Undaunted by their stares I ate my food, daring them with my eyes to do their worst. “I took the liberty of enrolling you in school with the boys and since they are also seniors they will take you with them tomorrow and ensure that you are not overwhelmed with your first day at school, Your mom tells me that you can drive.” I nodded wordlessly. “For the first weeks you will go to school along with them until you can figure your way around and are able to drive yourself then we will get you a car.” He said and i chanced a glance at the boys and saw that they looked ready to tear me to pieces while mom looked pleased. “Mom can take me.” I said staring at her pleadingly. “I am really sorry honey but I am going to be very busy, I really think it is a good idea for you to go along with your brothers so that you can get to know them better.” She said apologetically, putting her hand on mine. “There would not be any need to force me on people who obviously don’t like me if you did not make me move to this godforsaken hellhole.” I snapped and pulled my hand from under hers and stormed off angrily while she called out. “Lia, come back here this instant.” I refused to pay her mind and flew to my room where I made a beeline for my bed, sobbing my frustration at everything out. When I was done crying I went into the bathroom and washed my face with some cold water and looked at my puffy red eyes in the mirror before going to the closet where I began to unpack my boxes which had been brought up probably while I had gone to the kitchen, placing my clothes on the hangars and in the drawers. I finished in record time and took a shower before washing my hair and crawling into bed where I texted with Alicia until she left my message unread, probably fallen asleep. A little while later there was a knock on my door and without waiting for an answer the door opened slightly and light from the hallway and mom’s face appeared in my doorway. I turned the other way, facing the wall and ignoring her even when I heard the door shut and felt the mattress dip as she sat beside me and placed her hand on my shoulder. “I know that all of this is hard for you but I wish you would try a little more, for my sake. I just want us to be happy.” She said softly and I turned around and looked at her with tears in my eyes. “They don’t like us here, there is no way I am ever going to be happy here.” I answered. “That is not true, Zachary has always wanted a little girl and I know that he looks forward to getting to know you better and this is a lovely place, you will grow to like it.” She argued. “I don’t mean him, I mean his kids, I just know that they can’t stand me and I can’t stand them either, I wish you had just left me in San Francisco.” I cried. “You are just teenagers and all of this is new to you, you just need a little time and you are going to be best friends.” “That is never going to happen. Mom please send me back to San Francisco, I can live with Alicia and her folks, I will soon be done with high school and go anywhere I want anyway, I can’t believe that you chose some man you just met over me your own daughter.” I accused. “I am sorry that you feel that way, you will just have to wait to be done with school and then you can go where ever you want. You are behaving like a spoiled brat and I cannot believe that the daughter I raised is such an entitled and inconsiderate little girl.” She said coldly and stood up and left me alone. When she left I cried some more and found myself falling asleep shortly after. I had thought that I would not be able to sleep due to being in a new place but I must have been more tired than I realized because I was fast asleep in minutes.
