After finishing breakfast, Sandy was heading straight for campus, but suddenly his motorbike wouldn't start.
He kept trying to start the engine, but the motorcycle remained stubborn.
"Why is that?" a voice asked, making him jump slightly.
He immediately turned towards Larissa, who was now standing right beside him.
"It won't turn over, it's an old bike. It’s been in the family since the Ice Age," Sandy replied, which silenced Larissa, her lips twitching as if holding back a laugh.
"So, what will you take to campus?" she asked again.
"I can take anything, even a sheep," Sandy replied for the second time. It was clear the man rarely took anything seriously when he spoke.
"Get in the car! I’ll give you a lift."
"To campus before I go to the office," said Larissa, already walking ahead.
Sandy watched the woman, who was now settling into a red Lamborghini.
Sandy was stunned when he realised what sort of car his wife owned. Forget driving one, he had never even been near such a luxury vehicle.
"Come on, get in!" Larissa prompted again, and Sandy approached the car, getting in hesitantly.
A mixture of awe and awkwardness overwhelmed him; he didn't know what to say.
"My personal driver is still unwell, so I have to drive myself," Larissa explained once Sandy had sat down beside her.
The man rubbed the back of his neck. He wanted to offer to drive, but he got shivers just thinking about the price tag of the luxury car.
"Oh, and this morning I felt compelled to introduce you to everyone, because I didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea. I didn't want to leave a bad impression on the people around me," Larissa suddenly stated.
"It's alright, I know this marriage was forced, which is why you were forced to introduce me as your husband," Sandy replied with a pitiful look.
Larissa glanced at the man who would be her husband.
"That's not it, I mean...
You should understand, even I'm still in shock that we suddenly got married and I have a husband I didn't even know at all before."
Larissa let out a sharp breath.
"Yeah, same here, I was surprised too," Sandy added, making Larissa turn her head back to him.
"Tsk... I don't think this is a subject we should discuss out here," Larissa said, returning her focus to the road ahead.
"Okay, let's discuss it in the bedroom," Sandy replied, which again made Larissa turn her head towards him.
"I know I’m handsome, but when I’m driving, you have to keep your eyes on the road," Sandy said with a confident smile.
"So confident. Now, quickly, where do you study?" Larissa changed the subject.
Sandy told her the location of his college, and Larissa immediately drove the car towards that destination.
She accompanied Sandy until they arrived in front of the campus gate.
"Is this the place?" she asked after stopping the car.
"Yes, I'll get out now. Thank you, my wife," Sandy said with a charming smile.
Larissa simply stayed silent; she looked extremely cold.
"Come on, give your husband, who's going to college, a kiss on the back of his hand," the man teased again, seemingly enjoying playing with Larissa's cold demeanour.
However, something unexpected happened: Larissa accepted his outstretched hand and then kissed the back of Sandy's hand.
"So-sorry, I was just kidding."
Sandy immediately pulled his hand away from Larissa's grasp. He felt truly uncomfortable seeing the woman kiss the back of his hand.
This was because Sandy felt unworthy to be the husband of a woman like Larissa.
"Oh yes, I forgot. Shake hands with your husband first!" Sandy extended his hand towards the woman again.
"Tsk... get out now!" Larissa commanded, reverting to her usual snappy mode.
"Yes, thank you again. Please keep my motorbike at home, don't throw it away," the man said as he exited the luxury car.
Larissa watched Sandy walk towards the campus gate.
The man had a handsome face and an appealing appearance, but unfortunately, Larissa felt they were not a good match due to their large age difference.
"Morning, darling!" a woman suddenly said, immediately taking Sandy's arm.
