Groaning angrily, Lyrien stomped all the way to the dungeon, why has the rogue's attack suddenly skyrocketed. And why here? He could barely understand so with a sigh he came to a stop in front of the dungeon.
"Are you ready to talk or what" his patience was running thin as his deep husky voice resonated the whole place earning a shiver from the rogue. "oh alpha you really have no idea" the rogue spat and smirked. of course he had no idea which was killing him inside. why the sudden interest in his pack? Selene help him, he would rip every rogue limb from limb!
"Sylvester!" he called his beta who came in quickly "yes Alpha" he bowed. "I don't care what they know or what they do, any rogue should be killed on sight" he declared, mercy was far from him now. "no you wouldn't... we know... wait don't kill us I'll talk" the rogue wailed but Lyrien only smiled wryly. "that grace is over, Sylvester off with him"
But Sylvester hesitated, they could actually have something of his so he spoke "alpha but..." the sharp glare from Lyrien cut him short.
"the next time you intend to threaten my order do so and lock yourself up afterwards. Don't you dare question my authority understood! " he had unconsciously tapped into the alpha command forcing Sylvester to kneel and reply. "yes Alpha"
"good, meet me in my study after there's work to be done"
turning to leave, the rogue knowing his life had come to an abrupt end shouted "you don't know anything about her, about the prophecy, you'll be doomed soon enough. we'll get her before you do. infact we already have" his dark laughter echoed round the room so when Sylvester ripped out his heart, the whole place became silent like a grave yard.
Lyrien stood rooted to the spot his eyes in a daze as he wondered who she was, he'd lost his mate at the birth of his son and had been hollow since for over 100 years. Had Selene smiled upon him and finally given him another mate? It was uncommon but still possible so one could only hope. A soft smile graced his lips as he hurried to his study with Sylvester left behind to attend to the mess.
Sitting down, he finally settled to make a call, it was their undercover agent. "I need you to find out something for me"
***
"Here you go Lyrien and don't you go ordering me around, I've got my own business you know"
Luca was the only one who could talk the alpha down without as much as a whip or two.
" thank you Luca but I'm afraid I have to call you home, no more adventures. something is going on and I need your help figuring it out"
Luca eyes widened in shock. " whoa whoa whoa, let me get this straight, you are saying you need my help... I never thought I'd live to see the day. Moon bless you Lyrien I'll be home when you need me" he smiled but sat suddenly getting serious upon realising the gravity of the situation.
"what's going on Lyrien, what is it that you can't handle? To ask for help.... should we contact the HQ?" Lyrien shook his head as reply "the HQ should not be aware, alot of them are already power-corrupt and what they'd give to become a hybrid like me" True.
Lyrien was the only hybrid alive, the rest had died in the abyss war with the witches and every other mystical creatures. But Lyrien is a witch and a werewolf. A dangerous combination as he's an alpha who has access to magic. Not just any magic, the Elementals. those were the most dangerous forms of witches. They could control the elements, drawing power from any and everything thing. There were those who could only draw from the moon, some the sun, some specific objects. But the Elementals where always in their zone as the elements are essential for survival.
"what does the prophecy say?" he finally asked, breaking his thoughts.
"Golden eyes, like sunrise bright,
A savior born, in radiant light.
The prophecy foretells her name,
A girl with power, to heal the flame.
With sun-kissed gaze, she'll lead the way,
Through darkness fallen, to a brighter day.
Her heart ablaze, with love and might,
The world redeemed, in golden light."
Luca read out from the book he'd stolen. or borrowed as he'd always say.
"should this be good? we have no idea who this is or what the dark we have to face is. we need her with us to face it? if it were in ancient times I would've said the princess of dark had broken free but she's no more... what are we supposed to be scared of and what can the girl possibly know?"
Luca finally breathe after all the ranting.
" we have to find her" Lyrien declared standing up.
"hello sense of reasoning, we have nothing to go by except golden eyes like the sun. alot of people wears contacts if i must add and although golden eyes are not common it still exist in alot of people, take yourself for example, your eyes turn golden when you use the alpha command."
Lyrien sighed in defeat as he slumped back on his chair.
"so what should I do?" he asked Luca who grinned.
" one more adventure your highness, I'll narrow the possible candidates for you"
" as you wish. any news should be reported with immediate effect" Lyrien ordered just as the door opened to Sylvester bringing in a cup of coffee.
"your coffee Alpha" he placed it on the table and walked passed Luca without even as much as an eye contact earning a sigh from Luca.
"one day you'll have to explain what happened with the two of you to me" Luca shook his head as he packed his bag.
"alpha should stick with alpha business, I'll handle my forte" Luca's voice wasn't so subtle anymore, Lyrien could see the working on his jaw. he was gritting his teeth so bad.
"you're my best friend Luca, I'll support you. however, I need to know what's going on first"
Lyrien tapped his shoulder in assurance.
" correction, only friend" he forced out a smile and shrugged his hands off.
"I'm not so weak Lyrien now if you'll excuse me I've got work to do"
