“Can you help me?” I asked Samuel. The doctor who was treating Cressa had just explained my daughter's condition. And really, I was grateful that Samuel was so patient with Cressa. But before I could spend time with my daughter, I needed to get an answer that really stuck in my mind.
“What is it?” Samuel asked, adjusting his glasses.
“Can you tell me what's in this medicine?” I handed him the bottle of medicine I'd gotten from Lisa. For some reason my mind was only on this medicine.
“What is this medicine?”
“That's why I asked for your help. Is it okay?”
Fortunately, Samuel was kind enough to help me. I knew him as my senior back in college. His future was so bright that he could become a specialist doctor who handled critical illnesses like Cressa's.
It took a week for Samuel to give me news about the medicine I'd submitted. And in that week, I found out who Seth Rapael really was-not just that he was the son of the heir to the Xeon Group. But the whole story, including his tragic accident. And it was my job to make sure he kept taking the medicine his aunt gave him. Although I was a little troubled that Seth was still being cold to me.
“This is a nerve weakening medicine. If used continuously, the person taking it will experience a reduction in their movement ability. Doctors rarely recommend this medicine unless it is absolutely necessary." Samuel looked at me with astonishment. “Where did you get this medicine?”
I was flabbergasted. If it was really like that... wouldn't it be dangerous for Seth?

“Xeon Group is cooperating with Leon Air. I've checked with the company and the risk of loss is far greater than you can imagine, Mr. Seth. You must act.”
“How can I act if my condition is like this?”
“You have to come to the big shareholder meeting this month.”
I, who had overheard the conversation, suddenly stopped. Everything about Seth Rapael had been looming over me all week. He had everything, but had to give it up and be controlled by someone else. And I was the one who pushed the medicine to make his condition weaker just because someone grasped my weakness.
Although I need a lot of money for Cressa, but really... my heart is still there. If Seth was back in power, wouldn't he be able to provide much better treatment for Cressa?
“Aunt Lisa won't let me go there, Jiro. You know, she must have made a lot of plans for Xeon's cooperation with other clients, according to her wishes. Not my wishes.”
“I'm sorry I interrupted,” I said with a courage I don't know where I got it from. I also ignored the surprised look that turned into an angry look from Seth, as well as Jiro who seemed quite disturbed by my sudden arrival. “I'm sorry I overheard your conversation.”
“What do you want?” asked Jiro who stepped closer to me without hesitation. I, who was a little frightened, could only hope that I wouldn't be dragged out before discussing my findings.
“I want to speak privately with Mr. Seth,” I said as I closed my eyes tightly. Jiro was really putting a lot of pressure on me.
“I don't want to talk to you. Get out, before I have Jiro drag you away!” Seth scolded in a voice that made me tremble.
“But I have an offer for you, Mr. Seth,” I stammered. “Really, please listen to me first.”
“What are you talking about?” asked Jiro with a look of disbelief. “What you want to talk to Mr. Seth about, say it in front of me too.”
I looked down. Insisting that I didn't want to talk other than alone with Seth. “I beg you, Mr. Seth. Just once give me a chance to talk.”
Seth snorted loudly. “You only have five minutes, Woman.” Then he wagged softly at Jiro. “Go on. Bring me the latest contract file.”
“But, sir.”
Seth didn't want to be contradicted, making Jiro quickly leave the room where they were having this discussion. I let out a sigh of relief even though I had to muster up the courage again to speak.
“What do you want from me, woman?”
Ah, that's right. I quickly took out the medicine and what it contained. Then squatted beside Seth. Slightly touching the calf that didn't seem to feel anything except Seth's eyes that didn't seem to like me touching it. But this was my chance. Aside from me not being able to keep quiet after knowing what drugs Seth was taking, I was also sure that Seth would provide his own protection for Cressa. He's... a rich man, right? “Did you know that your leg can be healed?”
No words escaped Seth's lips. The document I gave him regarding the composition and side effects of the medicine was already squeezed tightly by Seth.
The medicine in my hand was a gateway to death, but maybe not. I want to turn this drug into the gateway to my happiness. Either way, I was sure I could do it.
“If you agree,” I took as many breaths as possible. In front of me, the man sitting on a wheelchair, good-looking but with eyes as sharp as swords, his speech short but making all the hairs stand up, not to mention his temper is quite bad.
It's like gambling but if I don't speak up now, the opportunity won't come again.
“I can take you to get everything back.” I approached hesitantly. “Everything they ever took away including your honor as the CEO of Xeon Group.” My eyes now matched his sea-blue eyes. “But... pay for my daughter's entire treatment. Even if necessary, find the best doctor in the country so that he can work on her recovery.”
“Do you want to start a silly game?” he asked with a dismissive grin.
“Because you're paralyzed? You didn't even ask what this medicine was.” I handed her the medicine she had been taking. “It's a nerve weakener. If taken regularly, your wish to get up from this wheelchair will be impossible to realize. In fact, as a side effect, you can literally just lie in bed waiting to die.”
I could tell she was shocked, but her emotional control was impeccable.
“I'm a therapist and although I didn't graduate as a medical student, I'm not blind about medicine.” Once again I bet and God... please just this once, ease up on my plan. “So...aren't you benefiting from this deal?”
