Alice was kissing me. She was kissing me and I was so shocked at first that I just tensed. My wolf wanted to smack me real hard so I just held her tighter to me and kissed her back.

Her arms were wrapped around my neck and her lips were eager against mine. It was like nothing we shared before and it made my whole body heat up. I could not be too forward though because I feared that I would scare her. I let her lead this kiss but I gave it all.

She seemed to want more because she deepened the kiss and chased my tongue inside my mouth. I was ecstatic. I put my hand on her cheek and wrapped my other around her waist to hold her as close as possible. The proximity made my body react and she moaned in my throat.

She froze and so did I because I did not know what to do. Did she want me to do more? Did she need more time to sort out her feelings? I could smell that she wanted me but she had stopped moving.

She parted her lips from mine and I just wanted to have them back. I could not push her, it was already incredible that she had been the one to kiss me. Her face was flushed and her eyes were wide. She seemed confused about what happened but it gave me hope. She was slowly opening up to me.

"I'm sorry..." She said her voice breathy. "I kind of... Jumped on you like that... I..."

"It's ok." I said, trying to calm my heart down. "You can jump on me anytime, I like it."

Her mouth made an O at my words and I blushed. What did I just say? I was more moved by this kiss than I thought.

"I didn't know you were this kind of man, Julian." She teased, biting her lower lip to try not to laugh.

"That came out wrong." I said, trying to avoid her gaze. "I mean... I don't mind you kissing me when you feel like it. I'm your mate so... I'll never push you away again."

"Thank you." She smiled. "I'm just... Not sure if I'm ready for more yet."

"Take your time, I'm not going anywhere."

She nodded and I calmed down. We were making progress and that made me happy. I could not be too greedy.

We went back to our bedroom and we settled into bed. She let me hold her and I nuzzled her hair. I could wait as long as she needed, even my wolf seemed to agree.

We woke up to my alarm and I noticed that Alice was holding me tight, her head snuggled to my chest. She did not seem to want to wake up or move so I held her tight to me and kissed the top of her head. She sighed in my arms and stirred until her front pressed against my hard one, making us both gasp.

"I'm sorry!" She said, blushing. "Did I hurt you?"

"No..." I reassured her, trying to calm down. "Quite the contrary."

"Oh... I'm sorry..." She mumbled, averting her gaze to hide her embarrassment. "I didn't mean to..."

"I know." I said, my voice soothing. "Don't worry ok?"

"I just... Have no experience with this." She continued, still not looking at me.

I could smell that it was the truth. Maybe because of what I put her through she did not trust men around her anymore? Or maybe she wanted to wait for her true mate? Or for me? I could only hope.

"It's all right, Alice." I said. "I don't have much more experience so we'll cross that bridge when you're ready."

I did have s*x once before. I was angry because of what happened with Alice so I decided to do it with one of the she-wolves of another pack on a joint hunt. I regretted it right after because she was not Alice and I could not keep her out of my head so I have not done it ever since. I did not want to have s*x with anyone but Alice.

She looked at me and offered me a small smile. I wanted her to trust me again more than anything.

"You're the only one I ever wanted to do this with."

I was stunned to hear her say that. Even after all that happened... She still wanted to take that step with me. I could not be happier. I kissed her softly and she pressed her body against mine again. I did not want to get up anymore, I wished we could stay like this all day.

She parted from me first and I kissed her forehead. I was sure that she could hear how fast my heart was beating but hers was beating as fast.

"But first... You need to tell me how you intend us to check on Charles without disobeying Jasper." She said.

Of course that was still on her mind. I could not help a chuckle and she joined me. I would feel hurt with any other girl but Alice was special.

"That's simple. We can just say that it's time to ask who wants to take the test for the Royal Guard. When we have the list..."

"We contact the Royal Guard and we can ask our questions!" She finished, enthusiastically. "That's brilliant! Do you think they will tell us where my brother is?"

"We can always ask the one Guard that we suspect your brother knows. If you tell him who you are, he might talk."

"Thank you, Julian!" She said, holding me tight.

"Anytime." I chuckled. "Jasper isn't stupid though, so we'll have to move carefully."

"Yeah, I know. He'll ask why we want to take in the applications for the Royal Guard's test."

"It's our job to do so but yes, he'll be angry."

"It's ok." She said with a large smile. "We can manage one angry Jasper."

"I agree. Shall we?"

"Yes." She chuckled.

We both got up and got ready for this day. I would fight every Alpha in the world for Alice and I was used to have Jasper angry with me. Nothing new here.
