Kallie was a girl who thought she had everything, that is, until everything changed. When her life was first uprooted with the passing of her adoptive father, she thought things couldn't get worse. But that was when her life turned upside down. She became something she never knew existed.

Years after, her adoptive mother, riddled with cancer, was murdered horrifically on the same night that she finds a mangled stranger in need of help and an evil figure out to do no good.

Where will this dark, dangerous figure lead us?

And where does this stranger come in to play?

A Strange Encounter
Being different is hard. There’s always someone to make you feel terrible about it.  Kallie walked down the sidewalk listening to all the robust noises of the city as she lost herself in her thoughts. She hated it here. The only reason she stayed was for her parents. Her normal, judgemental, human parents. They had no idea what she would become when she came of age. If they had known beforehand, would they still have taken her in?  That was always a thought running through the back of her mind.  There was a startling noise behind her and her thoughts scattered. Kallie turned to find a car had driven into a mailbox. She rolled her eyes.  Of course the idiots were out, Kallie thought. She never was able to get away from any of the issues of the city, even the city park was filled with pollution and dog feces from incompetant owners.  Kallie’s heels clicked as she strode over. In no hurry to check on the fool that took his eyes off the road. That's how she lost her father, Alec. A man was too busy paying attention to a text from his girlfriend to watch the road and ended up running Alec down on the pavement when he was trying to cross the street.  She reached the car and looked it over.  Was he dead?  No, that couldn’t be. It was just a mailbox. You can't die from hitting a mailbox.  She walked closer and went around the back of the car.  No license plate, that's fishy.  Kallie made it to the backseat window behind the drivers side of the black 1998 Monte Carlo. There were parcels thrown about the back, almost as if someone was looking for something. There was a muffled sound and she looked to the front seat. Before she was able to catch a glimpse of the man in the car she smelled it.  The blood.  She was overwhelmed by it and her throat strickened.  How would she help him when her sudden animalistic urge hit her like a bulldozer?  How in the hell did this much of his blood get spilled in a simple mailbox accident?  He had barely hit it.  Kallie took a deep breath, and counted. Counting would help Kallie when she felt like she was losing control of herself.  Finally she willed her feet to move. Hoping that her eyes weren’t glowing, she moved to the driver side door.  Shock was the only word to describe the feeling she felt when she saw his face and then shortly after, fear.
