“The Princess has arrived, Your Majesty.” Lucy said.
She carried me again in her arms and let me sit on the chair. I heard those faint noises of utensils clanking each other. They immediately prepared our breakfast as soon as I arrived. But I was consciously waiting for the emperor to start talking. What made me a bit antsy in this situation is that the emperor hasn’t said a single word yet.
And how would I eat properly in this situation? It would be embarrassing to show the emperor that I am having a hard time eating because I couldn’t see anything. It might be rude to him or might be a discourtesy on table manners.
“Uh… if you don’t mind, I’ll feed you Princess.” Lucy offered.
“I’ll do it instead.” The emperor finally broke his silence.
But what? He’ll seriously do that for me? I heard the noise made when his chair moved and every step, he made towards me. I could feel his presence near me and it went like that for a second. I suddenly felt his warm hands on my body and he carried me in his arms. He walked back to his seat. I guess I am now sitting on his lap and I can clearly feel his body on my back.
“I’ll feed you, just tell me what else will you need.” the Emperor said. Although his voice was filled with nothing but coldness, I can tell he’s being sincere in his own way. What could the Emperor be up to this time?
“Y-yes, Your Majesty.” I replied.
I felt something cold in front of me near my mouth. I guess it’s the spoon, the food what the emperor’s trying to feed me. I opened my mouth and munched a spoonful of delicious food.
“What’s your name?” he asked.
I swallowed the food first and just fell silent for a moment.
“I don’t have a name, Your Majesty.” I replied.
“You don’t have one? Is that how useless your mother turns out to be? Even giving you a simple name, she couldn’t even do it?” He snorted.
I just fell silent. I don’t know what say either.
“Do you have something in mind you like to be your name?” he asked again.
“Nothing.” I replied dryly. Maybe I got used to it for so long. So long that I haven’t gotten any proper name other than “Hey” or “Demon child”.
“Then shall I give you one?” the emperor asked. I couldn’t see his face but I feel like he’s smiling right now. His intense aura faded, and was replaced with a warm and kind one.
I felt like my heart fluttered. He will really give me one? I never even thought I could have one in my entire life. This feeling, my heart drumming in my ears. Why do I feel so happy and excited?
“I want it to be unique and special. I don’t want someone to share the same name as you, since there’s only one you.” he said.
Why do I feel touched? It’s like I really wanted to hug him tight.
“How about Tyesha?” he said confidently.
Tyesha? Sounds lovely and really unique.
“Tyesha Latoria Asseraviel. How’s that for your name from now on?” He caressed my hair.
I suddenly felt my eyes were welling with tears. Warm drops of tears streamed through my cheeks. I was really trying to hold it back with all my might but I couldn’t hold it.
“Why are you crying? Don’t you like the name? If you don’t, I’ll think of another one.” he said.
I shook my head. “No… no… I like it really much, it is beautiful. Thank you.”
For the first time in 5 years, I was sincerely happy. That I couldn’t hold back my tears and my smile. For 5 years, I felt again this light feeling in my heart.
“It’s good to hear that you like it very much.” he said. I felt a soft cloth touched my cheeks. He wiped my tears first before continuing on feeding me.
After we ate breakfast together, he brought me to his office. Just like what happened in the dining room earlier. He let me sit on his lap as he worked on the documents. Maybe he’s reading a book right now, since I couldn’t feel the feint movements of his shoulders when writing. Well, I am not bothered or bored being like this, after all he said he’s my father, I just kind of loved the thought of someone’s caring for me. And yeah, he smells really good.
It was that moment when someone knocked on the door.
“Your Majesty, It’s Randal.” the man on the other side of the door said.
“You may come in.” the Emperor replied.
I heard the noise created by the door as it swung open and close, and the foot steps coming towards us.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Princess of Asseraviel. I am Randal, the Archmage of the country of Asseraviel.” he said.
Woah! An archmage? I didn’t expect, this country had an archmage. I only heard they’re so rare and legendary mages. How strong could this country be? How strong could this emperor be?
I suddenly felt the Emperor carried in his arms and gently put me down on the couch.
“If you’ll excuse my rudeness, Princess.” Randal, gently held my hands.
I felt a soothing magic power that flowed within me from his hands. The magic spell felt like it surrounded my body and relaxed my muscles and my soul. After a moment, he let go of my hands.
“Princess, all of your injuries, scars and bruises have all been healed. They’re now gone like it didn’t even exist at all.” Randal said, with a kind tone.
“Really?” I couldn’t help it but smile upon hearing what he just said.
I heard him chuckled. “Yes Princess, now it’s your eyes turn this time.”
“My eyes? You can heal my eyes?” I suddenly shot up from my seat.
“I will try Princess, now be seated again. And please close your eyes.” he said.
I listened to him and did what he told me to do. I felt that he gently touched my face with his warm hands. He covered both of my eyes with his palms. I had that same feeling as that earlier one when he healed my body with all the scars and scars. After a minute, he removed his palms from my face.
“Now open your eyes, Princess.” Randal said.
I nodded and gladly opened my eyes immediately. I couldn’t held back my tears from welling again.
