“Don’t forget that this is your engagement party, Janette…” her mother whispered.
Janette clicked her tongue. “I don’t even give a damn.”
“Lady, you better watch your language right there,” her father warned.
Janette fell silent. The Emperor was giving her a piercing gaze. The good thing was that the people never heard their conversation and just thought that both sides had a good relationship with each other. Emperor Linfred’s gaze was misunderstood by others that he adores the Lady.
“Oh my, the Emperor’s gaze to Lady Bernardon is so intense,” a lady whispered on his companion.
“You’re right… I never thought that the Emperor had a passionate feeling towards Lady Bernardon.”
The Emperor as well as the people in his circle overheard the people’s gossip behind them. Janette’s father cleared his throat and forced a smile. “Why don’t the both of you dance, Your Majesty?”
“Of course,” Linfred smiled. He reached out his hand, offering it to the lady.
“May I have a dance with you, Lady Janette?” Linfred slightly bowed.
“What if I don’t want to, Your Majesty?” Janette teased.
“You…”
