10 years later
Delores was thinking about her dad a lot today. It was the 10 year anniversary of her father’s death. Through the years she had been trying to find out new things about his death.
Delores had moved to different places over the years with her grandparents and uncle. He was in the army and was sent all over the world.
All the time she wanted to know the truth about the death of her dad. She had been able to get the notes from his case and what they found at autopsy. She learned early not to tell her uncle or grandparents what she was doing.
Flashback
“Leave it alone Delores,” her grandfather said. “He drowned and no one was with him. He knew better than to go swimming alone, but for some reason he did that day.”
“He knew better, you said it yourself.” Delores said. He was a swimmer and would not go by himself.”
Flashback finished
Delores knew better than to talk about it in front of them. She moved back to Seattle to find out what happened. Her grandparents thought she was just going to college and let her move into the family house. This was important for her. She will find out the truth one way or another.
