The more Nora cried and sobbed in my arms, the more my heart broke. Watching my mate cry hit different. Whatever that old b***h did or said to her, I will know, and I will make her pay.
I left the Black Diamond the moment my informant in the Queen Mother’s court told me she had a visitor from Stormpack. The identity was hidden, which already told me enough. If that old b***h was suddenly having secret meetings with someone from Nora’s former pack, then Nora might not be safe.
I didn’t waste a second. I left Black Diamond right away. I needed to be beside her. I was just about to text her if she was fine when I ran in front of a car. It hit me, and even though I stood up fast, the pain stayed. That’s when I started limping a bit.
