Stile's Point of View
Lunch Break
We strode confidently into the hall. Our entry stirred up noise in the hall as the girls kept screaming our names. Dave did the courtesy of winking at them. The boyfriends of most of the girls he winked at would in turn glare at him. We looked around looking for any sign of the girls, just in case they had arrived before us. We sighted Isabell some distance away, sitting at the far end of the hall with a book in her hands. She seemed undisturbed by the noise.
We made our way towards her.
" Hi Isabell!" we said in unison.
" Hey guys, you are all sure going to pay some fine for keeping me waiting here for so long. You guys think you can always get away with coming late. You can do it in class or anywhere else, but not with me," she said, wearing a serious look on her face.
" We had no clue we were late. Initially, we were happy that we were going to make it before you girls today," Steven said.
"Are you guys kidding me when you said you had no clue you were late?" she asked, looking at us like we had grown three heads. " Check your time," she said in an authoritative tone.
" Oh! " I can't believe we are fifteen minutes late for lunch," Steve said, as we exchanged surprised looks.
"Thanks to you guys for making me almost die of hunger."
" We are sorry, Isabell," we said in unison.
" We never knew it was lunchtime until we saw a guy with his lunch box. That was when we noticed it was lunchtime", Dave said.
" You noticed? Why would you notice when there is a bell to remind you, or do you mean to say you didn't hear the bell? " She asked, surprised.
" Don't mind them. It's all their fault we are this late. Steven narrated: "I heard the bell earlier on and told them, thinking they heard it too, but they paid deaf ears, claiming I was being stupid, and I was deaf, whereas they were the deaf ones."
"Yes, it's true, you are stupid, or can you deny that fact?" Dave asked. These two are really something else.
"Yes"
"How?"
"The fact that you guys saw some students walking out of the class and some with lunch boxes at the same time and drew your attention to the lunch bell shows gross stupidity and absolute blindness," Steven said.
" No, we thought there was another class before lunch," Dave said.
“You guys are dumb.” Isabell said, punching each of us in the chest as we winced in pain.
"I never knew that small hand could punch so well," Dave said, earning him another punch from Isabell.
" Oh man," Steven chuckled, making Isabell glare at him. He kept quiet instantly.
"Ouch!" Dave exclaimed, as if in pain. " But that wasn't necessary. I was only complimenting you."
"But it sounds more like a mockery," Isabell said.
“ So what are we having for lunch? I am starving," l asked.
"Where is Stella?" Steven asked, drawing our attention to her absence.
" She will join us soon. We were on our way here together when she said she had forgotten something, and I was surprised she still hadn't shown up," she said, shrugging her shoulders. Just then, Stella showed up.
"Hi guys, did I miss anything?" she asked as she took her seat beside Steve.
"Can you believe this dumb_ass came late again today?" Isabell complained, and Stella chuckled.
" I told you it's in their blood," Stella replied nonchalantly.
Everyone made their orders while Steve and I went to get them. We were back sooner, and we ate our lunch in silence.
Isabella's Point of View
I heaved a sigh of relief at the close of school. I was so happy that no awkward scenes took place today, contrary to my expectations, except from Bridget and her crew, who came fooling themselves earlier. I missed Jake so much and wished everything that happened that Friday, the party and the fight, had never happened.I wished everything was okay between us. I wish I could just wake up to find out I was dreaming or daydreaming. If only my wishes would come true, but sadly enough, there is no possibility of that happening, but there is every possibility of things getting back to normal between Jake and me, if what Stiles said was to be true.
"Hey Bell", I heard a voice call, and I turned around to see who it was. I saw Stiles running towards me.
"Stiles" I called back.
"Are you that wicked?" He asked as he bent slightly, placing both hands on his knees, breathing heavily. I tilted my head to the side in confusion. "I have been yelling your name and running after you, but you wouldn't wait or spare a glance my way." he said.
"I'm sorry," I said, "I didn't hear you." He gave me the "are you okay?" look.
" For you not to have heard me means you were in deep thought. Can I know what you were thinking about? " Stiles asked, showing concern.
"No", I replied, not wanting to discuss it.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes"
"Alright."
" Please, have you seen Stella lately, or do you know where she might be? Because I have been looking for her but can't find her.”
" She is possibly with Steve," he said.
"Oh! Yea, I didn't think in that direction.”
" I have been looking for you and when I couldn't find you, I thought you must have gone home. Thank goodness I later found you; I wouldn't have forgiven myself knowing you trekked the distance back home," he said.
"Oh! Thanks for showing so much concern. "
" Yea, you know, I am the best," he smirked.
"You wish," I said, sticking out my tongue at him.
"Oh! You just broke my heart," he pouted, placing his hands on his chest, making me laugh.
" Are you ready to go now, so I could give you a ride home?" he asked.
" There's no need for that," Stella voiced out as she showed up from "God knows where" with Steven by her side. Stiles wasn't wrong after all.
"Why not?" Stiles asked.
"She will be riding with me instead." We all shifted our gaze to her.
"And with what car?" Stiles asked.
" My car," she replied boldly.
"And since when did you own a car?" Stiles chuckled.
"Come with me and see," she said, walking past us to the car-packing spot. " This is my car," she said, touching a white Benz. I was surprised, but I was also happy for my best friend .
" Hop in, girl," Stella said aloud. I watched as Stiles stood with his mouth agape while Steve stood silent. Steve was unexpectedly calm. I noticed his eyes went dark all of a sudden. Was it that he was not happy that Stella got a car? I doubt that is the reason, because I see no reason why he shouldn't be. Maybe he thinks the car was given to Stella by some random guy. If my latter instinct is correct, that simply means Steve loves Stella because the look in his eyes screams jealousy. If he really loved Stella, then why wouldn't he want to disclose his feelings to her? Different questions kept popping in my head that I couldn't answer, but one thing was clear from the start: Steve has feelings for Stella, no matter how long it takes him to express them. You may ask how I knew. Well, there are two proofs: the way he usually looks at her and the recent proof, the look of jealousy in his eyes.I opened the car door and stepped inside; the engine immediately roared to life, and Stella drove away.
"I didn't really have any idea you could drive so well," I commented.
"All thanks to Steven."
" All thanks to Steven? You mean he enrolled you in a driving school or what?" l questioned.
"No he didn't. He taught me himself."
"Wow! That must have been very romantic and fun-filled," I said.
" Yea, you are right. In fact, those times were one of the best memories I had with Steve," she said, smiling.
"Was he planning on buying you a car or what?"
"That's what I had no idea of."
"Hmm, alright, gist me about the car."
"About the car?" she asked, confused.
"Yes, I mean, tell me about how the car came about."
“ My parents gave it to me as a surprise package. It all happened on a Saturday. We sat chatting happily when, all of a sudden, dad handed me a car key and led me outside where it was packed, saying it was mine,” Stella narrated.
"Wow! But I don't remember you telling me you were celebrating your birthday.”
"Does it only have to be on my birthday that I get to receive gifts from my family or friends?"
"Not really. Judging by your story, the car was handed to you on Saturday and since then, you didn't even bother informing me about it," I said, annoyed.
" I am sorry, that isn't the case. I just wanted to surprise you with it," she pleaded.
It's okay. So, what's up with you and Steve? I noticed you were with him after school."
" Nothing much.” She shrugged. "He just asked me to go out with him tomorrow." We arrived at my compound, and I stepped out of the car.
" Alright, girl. "Thanks for the ride and have a lovely date tomorrow," I said.
" No need to wish me that now. You can do that tomorrow. "
"Alright," I chuckled.
"What about we having a hangover at your place tonight?" Stella suggested.
"That sounds like fun, but tomorrow is a school day," I said thoughtfully.
" It doesn't disturb anything. I would ride back home, get my things I would need for school tomorrow and come back here. So I would go directly to school from here," she said.
"Wow! Can't wait," I squealed in excitement.
"Alright, I will be right back," she said and drove off.
Stiles, Point of View
I walked in to find mum in the sitting room with my baby brother sitting comfortably on his babysitter.
"Hi Mum!"
"Welcome back home, darling." I walked to her and gave her a peck on the cheek while I tickled my brother, who giggled happily. I noticed the smile on mom's face never faded off.
"Mum, you seem very excited."
"Yes, I am excited," she said.
"May I know the cause of such excitement?" he questioned.
"Yes, I just got a job," Mum said in excitement.
"I had no idea you were looking for a job," I explained.
" Yes, darling. I decided to keep it a secret till I got the job because I knew you weren't going to be in support of it".
"Yes, mum, you are correct; I wasn't going to be in support because I don't see why you should be stressed when dad provides everything we needed."
"I just want to work."
" No mum, there is no way I am letting you do that. Who would look after the baby? "
"I would make provisions for him."
" I still don't get why you need it..oh! Now l get it, to get extra money to satisfy your alcohol pleasure?" l asked, but she kept mute. "Mum, why are you this heartless?" If not for me, but for the sake of this baby, stop taking alcohol," l yelled.
" You have no right to yell at me. I am your mother," she yelled back.
"Then behave so."
". I love alcohol. It helps me forget about him, " she broke into tears.
" I know he hurt you, but you are causing harm to yourself. It's been years, mum, it’s time to move on.”
" I just can't, no matter how hard I try," she said in tears. I went close to her and pulled her into a hug.
" I'm sorry, mum, for yelling at you. I understand your pain. I am just scared of losing you," I said in tears.

I sat on the couch after dinner, awaiting Stella. She told me she wanted to go pick up a few things from home, and up till now I haven't seen her. I don't know why she had to keep me waiting all day. Furthermore, it was her idea, not mine. Why am I getting upset over nothing? It's called a "night hangover." Maybe she wants it to get a bit darker before coming over. My thoughts switched over to Jake. Where could he possibly be now and what could he be doing? Does he even miss me the way I miss him? Does he still love me? Does he think about me the way I do? I really miss him and I want to see him so badly. We haven't ever stayed apart without seeing each other for this long. I recalled everything Stiles told me. Something in me kept telling me he didn't say the truth. I felt like going over to Jake's place to see him, but kicked against it. I would just wait till tomorrow, but if he doesn't show up at school, I would go over to his place. Not long after I fell asleep on the couch with Jake on my mind, my phone began to ring. I picked it up with sleepy eyes to see it was Stella calling. She called to tell me she wouldn't be able to make it over as Steve made an unexpected visit. Thank goodness! I was already feeling sleepy, so I stood up and walked lazily into my room. It's a good thing to actually sleep this early, considering the fact that I have had sleepless nights these last few days.

I was about to go out when I heard the doorbell. Did Isabell decide to come over? I went to get the door and was surprised to see Steve standing at the door.
"Why are you looking as if you just saw a ghost?" he asked.
"Oh! I was surprised to see you come over. I wasn't expecting you and I thought we were to meet tomorrow or did you shift it to today? "
"What's up with you? Can't I come see my baby anytime I want? Must it be on schedule?" My heart fluttered on hearing him call me 'baby'. Don't get me wrong, he does call me that, but there was something special about the way he said it this time around.
"Not really, come in," I said, moving aside.
"Why are you dressed this way? Were you initially on your way out? "
"Excuse me"l said, ignoring his questions, and ran upstairs to my room. I needed to inform Isabell about Steve's presence and tell her I wouldn't be able to make it, so she wouldn't make vain preparations. I put a call across, and she picked it up at the first ring.
" Stella," she called in a sleepy voice.
"You are asleep already?"
"Hmm,yes"
"Alright. I was about to come over when Steve arrived at my house, so I called to let you know I wouldn't be able to make it," I explained.
"All right, girl, thanks for calling to let me know," she yawned from the other end.
"Thanks for understanding."
"Alright, bye,"she said and disconnected the call.
"Who was that on the phone?" Steve's voice rang along. I was shocked. He was standing by my door with his hands in his pockets. I guess today is just full of surprises. Steve and I haven't been that close. It would surprise you to know this is the first time he's stepped into my room, but it's the truth. We only meet in school, and any other meeting outside school is always on schedule; I am the one that does the visiting. He only came over when he wanted to pick me up for a party. He would just stay outside in his car, waiting for me. He never took me seriously and only does so when it comes to s*x. I know you might be wondering why I accepted in the first place; I did so because I loved him and thought I could change him. I thought I could make him love me, but I also thought I failed. I am so confused right now. I don't know what he is making me believe. Has he fallen in love with me?
"You are perfect at staring, you know?" He said, leaning against the door with his hands still in his pockets. That was when I realized I had been staring the whole time. He looked so cute and damn hot in his new position. " I guess you find me too hot. You can't take your eyes off me," he teased, while I blushed in embarrassment. "You haven't answered my question."
" It was Isabell. I called her to cancel our night hangover.”
" You should have told me. I guess I should leave then so you could go."
" No need for that. It has already been canceled. Furthermore, she was sleeping when I called," l said.
" If you say so," he shrugged. We kept staring at each other. I was lost in his gray eyes. I didn't know when he came so close.
Steve's Point of View
She ignored my questions as she ran upstairs. She has been behaving awkwardly since I got here. The surprised look on her face when she saw me at the door and now this, has me suspicious. Why did she run off that way? Or is there another guy in the house? My eyes darkened in jealousy and anger at the thought. Jealousy? How would I be jealous? I don't even love her. Despite my objections, the desire to follow her upstairs to see what she was up to grew stronger.I found myself opening a door and I saw her on a phone call. It amazed me how I found her room because I hadn't stepped in there before. Watching her stirred up some strange feelings.
"Who were you speaking with on the phone?" I asked when she finished with the call. I heaved a sigh of relief when I noticed she was the only one in her room and found out it was Isabell she was with on the phone.
Stella's Point of View
He raised his hands and placed them on my cheek. Only then did I realize how close we were. He kept staring at my lips while drawing unimaginable lines with his fingers, sending chills down my spine. I guess he noticed the effect he had on me because he smiled. His smile could actually kill. He continued his assault, moving his hands from my face down to my neck and then to my chest. A moan escaped from my mouth. Feeling embarrassed, I quickly held his hands. He tilted his head to the side in a questioning manner. Before I could say Jack Robinson, his lips were on my neck, kissing it gently. He then proceeded to my lips. He placed his left hand on my butt, squeezing it gently. I gasped, giving him access to my mouth. He explored my mouth with his tongue. I put my arms around his neck, pulling him closer. He deepened the kiss and I pulled gently on his hair, making him moan. I felt like I was going to explode anytime soon. There was something special about this kiss. It was different from the others we've had before. We kissed for a long time before he finally pulled away from the kiss. We kept staring at each other's eyes while breathing heavily. He opened his mouth to say something, and that built up a means of happiness in me. He shut it down again, much to my chagrin.
"You were going to say something," I stated in a questioning manner. Since he doesn't want to say it willingly, I guess I would have to force it out of him.
" Go and get dressed. We are going out,'' he said, walking out of the room without giving me space to utter a word. The excitement in me died almost immediately. I fell on my bed, feeling a flood of disappointment and embarrassment rush through me. Was that what he was actually going to say? I don't think so. With the happenings of today, it's love you, he was supposed to say. I ran my hands through my hair in frustration. I picked up my pillow and threw it away in anger. Why does he keep doing this to me? Playing with my emotions is what he has always been good at. On a positive note, maybe he thinks it is not nice to express his feelings for me here, so I guess he wants to take me somewhere special and spill out his emotions there. I stood up and went downstairs. He lifted his head from his phone when he heard my footsteps approaching.
"I am set, let's go," I said.
"You mean like this?" he asked, referring to my dress.
"Yes, what's wrong with that? "
“ It's cold out there. You might catch a cold. "
"I am not a baby; let's go," I urged. In case you want to know what I am putting. I am putting on a crop top with shorts and boots.
"Alright, what about putting on a jacket?" he asked, looking at me with pleading eyes. I ignored him and walked past him. We made our way out of the compound.
"There's no sign of your car," I said, looking around.
"Yes, I didn't come with it."
" How then are we going to go out? Hmm! Let's just use mine."
" We are going for a walk, not a ride," he said.
"Alright, you can do that alone while I drive behind you," I said, walking towards my car.
"You'd never do that."
"You know how I hate walking," I half-yelled in frustration. He ignored it, walking away. I hate walking long distances because my feet always hurt when I do it. That's the reason my parents had to get me a car. "Steve!" I shouted.
" That's my name, baby," he shouted back. I had to run in order to catch up with him. I was angry, but that mood didn't stay for long. It took only a few seconds for Steve to make me laugh. We giggled and laughed as we walked. It was fun. He drew me closer to his side and wrapped his hand around my waist while I rested my head on his shoulder. I was lost at the moment that I didn't realize how far we had walked. Nor did I feel the pains in my feet until it was time to go home. We turned around to go back home. That was when I noticed we were in an unfamiliar environment.
"Where are we?" I asked, looking at Steve, who shrugged in response. " Oh my God! "I think we are lost".
" No doubt about that," he said, grinning like an i***t, getting me all pissed off.
" Steve, why can't you just be serious? By the look of things, we are missing and there you are with that kind of look on your face," I shouted.
"What look do you want me to put on?"
"I don't know, but definitely not this look."
"Stella, what is up with this sudden behavior?" he asked calmly.
" What are you driving at? Do I look like I got something wrong with me? " I yelled at him. I paced around nagging at him while he stood there calmly watching me. I was angry at the time, not because I was lost, but because I had waited patiently for those three words (I love you) but had not heard them.
" I can figure the way back," he said, interrupting my incessant nagging. He walked away. I took a step.
" Ah!"l yelped. Steve looked back at me in concern.
"What's wrong?" he asked, walking towards me.
"My feet hurt, all thanks to you," I huffed.
" Hop in," he said, turning his back to me. I wouldn't want to be carried on his back because I was angry with him. On the other hand, there is no way I can walk back with my aching feet. I hopped on his back and jumped down as soon as he arrived at my doorstep. I went in and shut the door against him. I collapsed on the sofa, crying.
Steve's Point of view
What could possibly be wrong with Stella? She has been behaving strangely since after the kiss today, ranging from the sudden excitement after the kiss to the un-explainable anger not too long ago. I stood in front of the shut door. Should I go in or not? I don't think she would want me in there, judging by the way she shut the door against me. I turned around and went home.
