Chapter 7 Mystery Man

Same time at the dinning table, Alejandro and Yani continued their conversation. While Lalaine was just quietly listening to them. Rhea and Mandy came and talked happily. They gladly greeted all even though Lalaine treated them bad.

"Mrs. Lilia please call Condrad so we can have our breakfast!" Alejandro commanded.

"Yes Sir!"

Lalaine was stopped at eating her food when she heard Alejandro's mandated. She knew Condrad did not want to see this food on the table so she stopped it.

"Wait! I'll bring him something to eat in our room," Lalaine said.

Mrs. Lilia stopped. She's waiting for Alejandro to say something. A deep sighed came out from Alejandro before nodding to the old lady.

"All right! Mrs. Lilia, please send food to their room."

"Yes sir!" the old lady nodded at what Alejandro command to her.

"Could Condrad and you come with us to meet all the rancho's staff?" Alejandro asked Lalaine.

Lalaine stopped grieving. She put down the spoon and fork once wiping a white cloth over her mouth.

"I'm not sure but I'll ask Condrad about it!"

"Okay, I won't force you. But I need your presence in dealing with them."

"I'll try to convince Condrad. You'd better just go first and we'll just follow if your brother agrees!" Lalaine nodded to Alejandro.

Because of Condrad's condition he rarely appeared to their staff, and Lalaine is often the one talking to all.

After their breakfast they immediately went to the central part of the hacienda. The ranch house is their gathering to be held for Alejandro's announcement. They riding the white land cruiser going to the ranch. Rhea was excited to ride a horse to tour the whole hacienda.

Meanwhile in the middle of the vast of Vergaras hacienda there is a ranch house just for gatherings. All the workers there bring their harvested fruits and vegetables. This is also the place for their meetings and conversations if everyone need something.

Apart from the house, where they gather to all the staff. There were so many animals at the back. Mostly they cared horses. Anyone in the Vergara family who wanted to tour the hacienda rode a horse instead of a car. The overall beauty of the hacienda is more noticeable when horse are used for sightseeing.

The morning come and the staff prepared the ranch house after informing them all about the meeting to be held for Alejandro's announcement. Everyone is happy to see the eldest son of the Vergaras. Each of them carried a basket containing fresh fruits and vegetables to give as offering to their boss.

When they reached the ranch in the middle of the hacienda, they were immediately greeted by an old man. He was the same age as Mr. Victor, the caretaker of the mansion.

Alejandro went down first and opened the door for Yani. Yani immediately went down. On the other side, Mandy and Rhea went down too.

"Thank you!" Yani said smiling to her husband.

Alejandro just replied with a sweet smile. Then the old man faced them. He is the leader of all the staff in the ranch. He had been serve for twenty years in the Vergara family.

"Good day sir! We're glad you're back," he greeted Alejandro happily.

But his smile faded when he saw Yani. Especially when his eyes glued at Alejandro's hand holding Yani's hand. Anyone who sees them will wonder for their age gap interval.

"Oh 'hi good morning Ma'am!"

Yani replied with a sweet smile to the old man. The old man's eyes were full of question as he stared at Yani. Obviously he is confuse what is the real status of Yani and Alejandro. No one is not surprised because of their age gap from each other.

"Thank you Mr. Carlos, I know you want to know who is my companion. But not now I will announce it later," Alejandro said to him.

"No problem sir!" he nodded at what Alejandro said.

"Omg ..." What a wonderful place. I love it. I love to be here."

Rhea shouted as she running and turning in a wide green grass surroundings. But Mandy just shook her head looking at Rhea. The place was fascinating and peaceful.

All the trees are full of fruit. Everywhere you turn you can see the beautiful grace of the surroundings. Clear air touches their skin. The chirping of birds that seemed to sing on their arrival.

Alejandro is happy at Yani's friends are gradually liking the hacienda. Even Yani she also learned to accept and start a new life with Alejandro.

"Come 'on sweetie they're waiting to us!" Alejandro said when he looked back at her.

She amused herself by staring at the friends who had already left them. Although they had just arrived in the area, but they did not hesitate to mingle with the staff at the ranch.

They followed Mr. Carlos to go inside the house. When they entered the house, they saw the long table full of everyone's offerings for Alejandro.

Glorious welcome to them all. From the inside, you can see each side at the back of the house because of the huge glass windows.

Before Alejandro began to speak, everyone approached him one by one and greeted him. Especially their loyal staff since the time of his father Ernesto. All the staff remained served faithfully because of the kindness of the family.

They were even more excited about Alejandro's return. They knew he is the only who can understand their needs. Alejandro know how to appreciate their works and effort.

"Listen everyone. I'm glad you warmly welcomed us. I'm here to let you know that from now on I will be in charge of you," Alejandro said.

Everyone shouted at the news they had always hoped for. Simultaneously with their shout was their one-on-one gratitude. It would be a blessing for them to serve a good heart that Alejandro inherited from his father Ernesto.

"Okay, be quiet first, I'm not done with what I want to say," Alejandro begged them.

He approached Yani who was sitting in a corner of the table with her friends. Before everyone asked him, he quickly introduced his wife

"Sweetie, come and let me introduce you to them," Alejandro said.

Yani readily accepted Alejandro's hand to accommodate his wishes. This is also one of the reasons why they are here and addressed everything.

"I'm ashamed!" Yani whispered.

"Don't be shy. Most all of them are still my father's staff and they are kind and dependable."

Yani stood up and drifted to what Alejandro wanted. She knew it hadn’t left her since they arrived at the mansion.

"On my return I have something I want to put right back. My father's last will and testament is up to me. So I want to introduce you the new member of our family. She is Attorney Yani Mendez Vergara, my wife," Alejandro said.

Alejandro raised their hand holding each other. But what Alejandro said did not immediately sync to Yani's mind. She forced to think about what Alejandro's father had left behind. Perhaps this is the mission of Alejandro wanted to accomplish.

Everyone was delighted. But some of them wondered why he married someone younger than him. Like Alejandro, Yani kindly addressed and greeted everyone.

"Hello everyone, you can hope that even though our age gap is wide, you can expect me to love and take care of him. You can all hope that whatever Alejandro wants for running the hacienda, I can support him and wholeheartedly support all of his decisions, " said Yani.

Every body claps their hands. A round of applause roared in whole hause. Something that everyone enjoyed even more. In Yani's speech they feel that she is kind like real Vergara. She is not a sweet-talker but everyone feels the sincerity in her words.

Alejandro continued spoke to explain to everyone. He also introduced Yani's friends. Rhea immediately stood up and made everyone laugh.

As Alejandro spoke, Yani's glance outside. From the window she saw a man wearing a black jacket and covering the hood over his head. She could not see well because it was quite far away and the plant covered half of his body.

It just stood there as if watching them. From the outside you can see what is inside because the glass wall is not tented and it is still open. Yani just let go and turned her attention back to the people in front of them. She wondered why there is one outside and all the hacienda staff is here.

She immediately looked at the person outside again. But there is no longer people standing outside. She searched for the man but she could no longer see him.

She didn't even bother to look for it. They continued to socialize with people. When she looked outside again, and in the distance she saw the same man wearing a black jacket. Yani became curious because she remembered that the person outside looked alike.

She simply left Alejandro's side and went to the window to get a good look. She felt nervous when she remembered the man she had often dreamed of. She will confirmed when she saw it up close.

Her eyes widened even more when she saw the man outside carrying a large chain. She doesn’t know what it feels like. She stiffened and could barely move at the sight. If it was just a dream but now she really sees awake. Who is this mystery man?"

"Sweetie, what are you looking at there?"

To her shock she unexpectedly touched a flower vase on the side of the window and it fell. Alejandro immediately supported her so that she would not fall. But despite everything, Yani's nervousness did not subside. A mystery man always chasing her even in her dreams.
