3rd POV

Time skip (15-16yr old)

Simply, There was a shift in the air.

There were new settlers and harvests happening. The young men and women of the village grew up and it was now time for the parents of those 15 and up to be looking for someone to be throttle to their children. The first was surprisingly Sofia. The 16 year old had someone she fancied and so Delilah had Neil send a formal message of engagement to see if they'd agree.

To everyone's surprise both fathers met in the towns square both in their way to send a message of a formal engagement. Chlôe and Gavin had a great laugh about it and teased their usually stoic sister making her blush endlessly. Though they did lightly threaten their sister's new husband to make sure he'd treat her right once they had the official meeting. The husband to be was from a Wolf family on the other side of the town and it just so happened that they turned out to be mates.

Delilah and Gavin cried through the official ceremony a few months later, though he'll tell you dirt got in his eyes.

The next happened a little before Chloe's 16th birthday. Gavin had met a nice young woman in another village during a hunting party and immediately requested a formal engagement. The woman turned out to be engaged to a brute, whom Gavin had saved her from. The situation was not unheard of unfortunately and the only way for his engagement to be accepted was in a formal challenge, which he jumped head first into, as per usual. When he set his mind on something he very rarely changed it. Luckily he won with only a few non life threatening scratches and bruises.

Though both couples decided to live close to the family, they didn't want to leave their youngest sister alone. She was now 16 years old and suitors were lining up, but she wasn't in a hurry. She made sure to let them down gently and informed the whole village that she'd wait until she was 17 years of age before looking for a husband. Instead she would continue to helping healing people, she started when she was 12 years old and found that she genuinely loved using her magic to heal people. Not everyone was happy with her choice though, and more than once has her brother, father, grandfather, and the Mikealson brothers either told them off, stopped them from assaulting her, or beat them up.

Unbeknownst to her, her admirers included those Mikealson brothers.

Finn found her spirit to be what charmed him but he knew he didn't stand a chance against his brothers , so he was engaged to a Miss Sage from a nearby village. They would not get married though before the transition.

Elijah admired her mind and maturity, he fell for her just like the others, but set his sights elsewhere on a Miss Tatia. He was of the same mind as Finn though his choice would lead to a fight with his other brother Niklaus later on.

Niklaus loved her. He loved her. He yearns for her company, but he knew his parents wouldn't agree. So he set his sights elsewhere on a Miss Tatia. Though he was not aware that his choice would lead to fights with his big brother Elijah.

Kol poêlées her and yearns for her. She made him feel accepted and not overlooked. They practiced magic together and pulled pranks together. She's even taken the fall for a prank gone wrong to another towns person. He didn't want to give that up and seeing his other brothers give up, he wouldn't. He'd confess and let her make her choice and he'd respect it as long as he gets to stay in her life.

Rebekah knew of her brothers love for the young Chloe and she genuinely hoped to gain a sister. Though there were times where she'd stare, or her heart would skip a beat, or she'd blush around her. But she brushed those things off and asked her mother to help her find a suitable match as well. Though she never lost the lingering looks.

Henrik was smitten. He was so far gone that there was just her. He didn't know if she'd give him a chance romantically, but like Kol he wouldn't give up. He was the youngest, but she never treated him that way and has been his best friend since they met, he knew he was being greedy to want more. But he couldn't help it, not with her never with her. So he stealed his nerves and decided he'd confess and if she didn't feel the same way then he'd continue being her best friend and help her find whatever she was looking for.

It's not that she was oblivious to lingering looks and too long touches, hand holding, sweet names, caresses, and all the other things she received. It's just that she wanted her mates, and she had a good idea of who they were. Yes they not one person, and this was the problem. Only a few species were aware of mates and humans often weren't one of them. So she gave herself an extra year and if not she'd go with the sincerest proposal she would receive. Until then it was business as usual.

Chloe's POV

There is a shift in nature again. I can feel it this time as I walk through the forest with the early morning dew. I take as many walks barefoot in nature as I can, this way I can feel my connection to it much easier. The change that's coming is headed towards me, I can tell, but it's also going towards the Mikealson family. It's sinister, I don't like it. I should warn mother.

I collect a bunch of herbs and flowers while I'm out here, some for me, some for the healer, and some for Ayana. She's a Bennet witch and is interested in my and my mothers magic never having met our kind before. It's understandable really, we hide in plain sight and we're a peaceful race, though different and other species don't like different- so we keep to ourselves.

Only Ayanna knows though, mother doesn't trust Esther or Dahlia. They know we're different much more powerful but they're not sure what we are, we're keeping it that way. The only magic inclined children Esther has though are Finn, Kol, and Henrik, they usually don't use it much because of their father either.

I take a deep breath and start humming a French nursery rhyme my mother taught me, taking in my peace before things go wrong.

Having stayed out longer than I usually do, I grab my baskets one full of different herbs and the other full of flowers, vines, and tree bark. And set off back to town to drop off, then to home to help my mother make lunch. Grandfather, Father, and Brother are back along with my brother in law. We have lunch as a family whenever they come back from a hunt and I try to make their favorites. Mother says I'm already a better cook than her but I'd disagree, there's nothing like the food with love she makes for us.

Seeing the edge of the woods in sight I speed up a bit to a skip. My hair flowing freely behind me, my dress swishing with the movement, and a big smile on my lips.

3rd POV

That's the view that greets the Mikealsons who are waiting in the field just before the town by the river. Finn, Elijah, and Niklaus had just come back from the hunting trip as well and all agreed to go and see their sunshine. Seeing her smile get even brighter upon seeing them, made their hearts melt and the adoration in the eyes more prominent.

"You're back!" She shouted while tackling the older boys in a big group hug.

"Of course we are Elskan," Elijah gently kisses her forehead and reluctantly steps back.

"I couldn't leave you here with these fools," Finn teased and gave her knuckles a kiss before also stepping back.

"Please we all know I'm one of her favorites, isn't that right love?" Niklaus kissed both of her cheeks leaving her blushing before they joined the rest of the siblings.

"Please that spot is reserved for me," Rebekah told them as she pulled Chloe into a hug causing her to laugh.

"Think what you want children," Kol teased them as he pulled her away from Rebekah and spinner her around a bit, making her laugh harder.

"Funny though I always win," Henrik chuckled as he picked up the baskets she dropped for the group hug.

"Guys I don't have a favorite, I love you all," Chloe told them finally able to gather herself once Kol let her go.

"We love you too," they told her not even realizing it was in sync with no hesitation.

Chloe gave them a big smile and with the help of everyone put her shoes back on, fixed her dress, fixed her hair, and wiped off the rest of the dirt she didn't even notice. Then they headed into town together holding casual conversations and updates on what the older boys missed while they were away. In town she dropped off what was needed, then made her way to Ayanna's house, where she met her outside doing some gardening. Ayanna was quite fond of Chloe and always paid her for her services( even though she didn't want to be paid). After that was done she said good bye to the Mikealsons and made her way home, she was just in time to meet up with her older sister who gave her cheek kisses and Chloe caressed her stomach secretly making Sofia blush and nod. Both sisters hugged and went inside to the sounds of their family.

That night at dinner Sofia announced to everyone, even her husband that she was pregnant with their first child. Everyone celebrated and Chloe having known prepared a special dessert beforehand. That night everyone stayed over and told stories all night and nothing could ruin such a festive mood.

It's really too bad. Time was running out and Fate needed to give their Chosen the sight. It was early but they knew she was powerful enough to take it. That night when everyone had sat their heads down for bed, just a week before Chloe was to turn 17, she began to have the visions that would change her life.
