The yacht was huge. It was decorated with all of Jasmine's favourite colour. It was the most beautiful party that she has ever attended. She loved the sea view after sun set. Even the cool breeze that made her shiver. "Happy birthday Jasmine! Your husband must be so lovely to throw you such a huge party!" Two ladies walked to Jasmine and commented. She blinked repeatedly, smiling at them. "Thanks..." She murmured. She swore that she haven't met them before. "Having fun? I never knew my brother was this romantic" her best friend, sister in-law said to her. " It's surprising" she replied and laughed. "Kylie!" Someone called her name. "I'll be right back" she said and left. Jasmine watched her leave while the daredevil walked to me. The one who was a sheep in wolf clothing. "It seem like you're having fun with that glass of champagne in your hand" she said. "Of course, I am. It's my birthday and my husband is threw me a party " Jasmine replied. Sophie snorted and folded her hands. "It may be your last" she said and walked away. Jasmine froze for some seconds, thinking about what her step sister just said to her. She gulped down everything that was in the glass and dropped it on the table. She just had to let what she said slip off her back like it was nothing.. She was the only family member that was here. Since her parents wasn't happy that she got married to his business rival's son. He wanted to make her regret it but she already fell in love after meeting him on that plane. "It's my wife's birthday today, everyone knows that" he said and everyone woahed and started clapping their hands. Jasmine just kept blushing where she stood. She thought of going to meet him on stage. She took few steps closer to the podium. Just then, Sophie walked to the stage and hugged Brian's left hand. Everyone paused, even the photographer. He didn't know if he should keep taking the pictures. Probably, she's just one of his friends. He didn't know. Brian lowered his gaze to look at Sophie. He even kissed her in front of everyone. Jasmine just stood like a statue, frozen. No words could come out from her mouth. She was speechless, confused. She even thought it was a dream. Kylie was even surprised where she stood. She never expected that from her brother. 'It may be your last' That sentence in her step sister's voice echoed over and over again. "It's also the last birthday party I'm going to throw for her. Because, I'm in love with someone else" he said, wrapping his hands around Sophie's waist. Jasmine couldn't help but shed tears. "But, before that, let's invite my wife on stage!" He said, expecting everyone to clap their hands. No one did, except Sophie. Jasmine gathered courage and walked to the podium. Everyone looked at her with pity in their eyes. "What's wrong with you? What's wrong with us? Brian" she asked in a soft voice. "I'm only doing what I need to do sweetheart" he said. He snapped his finger and his assistant walked to him, placing a file and pen on her hand. "Sign it and everything will be over. I'll give you a little proportion of my properties so you can live a good life as your father disowned you because of our relationship" he said. The file just leaned on Jasmine's hand. He has signed already. Just her signature was left for the divorce to be legal. Everyone waited in suspense, seeing if Jasmine will sign the papers. In front of everyone, she signed. Sophie snatched it from her and saw it. "Nice" she said and shoved it to Brian's assistant. She walked towards Jessica. "What did I tell you? Everything that belong to you will always be mine, hmmm? I've taken everything from you, including your husband. We are getting married soon. Watch out. Oh and of course, you're invited" she said and snickered, walking back to Brian. The guests were disappointed. They weren't expecting the Great Brian to stoop so low and divorce his wife in front of everyone. It's not the kind of person he is. . . Jasmine sat behind the yacht, crying alone. She already drank two bottles of wine. She was on the third one when Kylie took it from her. "That's enough drinking for you tonight. I'll go talk to my brother" she said. "Why should he listen to you? He already said it all. He has fallen in love with Sophie and I'm nothing to him. I can't believe I married an ingrate!" She yelled. Tears ran down Kylie's cheek. "I'm sorry that you have to go through all of this Jas. Just stay here, I'll go and confront Sophie. She must have said something to Brian" she said and walked away. Anger boiled in Jasmine's body as she watched Kylie walking away from her. She hurriedly stopped her. "I'll do this myself" she said and walked away, to find Sophie. Sophie met with Brian and won his heart. That was something Jasmine never did. All she did was make him marry her. She had forgotten that their marriage can crumble down just with a piece of paper. "Sophie!" Jasmine yelled. Sophie stopped and turned to face Jasmine. She saw her walking towards her, angrily. Some people were even watching them argue among themselves. They knew that was going to happen. "Excuse me please" Brian said, leaving his table. He walked to Sophie and wrapped his hand around her waist. "What's going on baby?" He asked Sophie. "She just called me. I have no idea what is wrong with her" Sophie replied in a mocking tone. With tears in Jasmine's eyes, she began to speak. "After all I've done for you Brian. I even left my family for you but you throw me away like I'm a piece of s**t, just for her!" She said, pointing at Sophie. "I fell in love with her. You should move on Jas. You're sweet and beautiful, it will be easy for you to find another man" he said. Jasmine pushed Sophie's shoulder gently. "You've taken him, but I'll take him back. Mark my words. This was all your goddamn plan all along. To take him away from me, how do you fvcking feel after doing so?" she said. Sophie frowned and pushed Jasmine harder. "Don't ever touch me!" She said. Jasmine staggered and lost balance. Her left heel broke. She tumbled around the rail and fell into the water. "Jasmine!" Brian yelled. "Jas!" Kylie also yelled. She started breathing hard, watching her best friend struggle for her life. Everyone gasped. The music stopped. People were trying to look for a life guard. But the yacht was still moving. "She can't fvcking swim! Where is the goddamn life guard?!" Brian yelled. Sophie just stood there, watching her sister fight for her life. She didn't even move a muscle. She was angrier seeing as everyone is trying to save her, including Brian. Her head wasn't seen above the water. She has drowned. Brian took off his jacket, wanting to jump into the water. Sophie grabbed him and the yacht stopped. "Don't go in. What if you also die?" She asked. Brian pushed Sophie away and prepared to jump. Some men jumped into the water and swam towards the place where she was. . . They arrived at the shore after saving her. The ambulance was already there, so was Jasmine's elder brother. Since her father has refused to come after seeing the news. Of course, the guest on the yacht didn't fail to go live. Everyone on social media already know what's going on. They rushed to the yacht and saw Brian still trying to resuscitate her. He was blowing some air into her mouth. They came and shoved him aside. The doctor checked her breathing. They tried to even resuscitate her but they couldn't. He sighed and stood up to face Brian. "I'm sorry. She's dead" he said. Brian pushed the doctor away and kept pressing his hand on her chest. "Wake up Jasmine. No, no... Wake up! Please, don't die!" He kept, breathing hard. Kylie sobbed softly. Sophie folded her hands. She think they'll have to arrest her. Even the cops arrived. She slowly moved back when the officer walked to them. "Good evening Mr Cooper" he said. Brian just moved away from the cops and find somewhere to sit. He wanted to throw a perfect birthday for her one last time before he break up with her but this happened. "Miss Sophie, you'll have to follow us to the station for some questions" the cop said, cuffing her. They already asked questions from the guests since Brian wasn't in his right mind. "It was an accident. You have no right to cuff me" Sophie said. She turned to Brian. "Help me Brian. They are taking me away! Brian!" As they dragged Sophie away, Someone grabbed Brian by his collar. It was Jasmine's elder brother. He hit Brian on his face. Brian took the hit and fell on the floor. Some cops ran to hold him. "My sister is dead because of you! I'm going to kill you! You! Brian!" He yelled. . . . Someone knocked the door, and pushed the door open. "Hey! Hey! Wake up!" She yelled. Jasmine woke up from the bed and looked around. She saw Sophie by the door. "Wake up, dad is calling you down for breakfast" she said and slammed the door. Jasmine stared at her hand and touched her face. She thought she was dead. She thought everything was a dream. She could only remember falling into the water. Slowly, she grabbed her head, groaning in pain. "Argh fvck! Another weird dream!" Immediately, she walked to the bathroom to brush her teeth before heading downstairs for breakfast. Jasmine couldn't remember anything. But she has been given another chance to relive her life a year before she died.
