21 Ashton I left the chalet before the sun rose, jumped on the horse, and rode to the village. The tug inside my chest only increased with the distance I put between Hayley and me, but it was for the best. I let out a sigh, remembering last night. Despite our run-in with Hinata and the Spring soldiers, last night had been incredible. I knew I shouldn’t have given in, but a part of me didn’t regret having held Hayley, having danced with her, having kissed her. A shiver ran down my spine at the memory of her mouth on mine, of her body pressed against mine.
