Like a fool, I waited for Ash all day long. I heard when he left in the early morning, without saying a word to me. In fact, he hadn’t said anything or looked my way since we left the Greenarch Hill last night after the soldiers had found him.
And here I thought I had finally broken through the wall that was between us. I wondered… was he like that with all girls or was just me? I wasn’t his type, was that it? I mean, I wasn’t thinking about the future, about getting married; I just felt a strong connection to him, and he made me feel like mush every time he looked at me. I wanted to melt in his arms while he screwed me senseless.
And yet, after kissing me until I was completely breathless, he simply ignored me.
