Delilah pulled into her driveway, got out of her car, and gave Andi a gorilla hug. "Andi, we shouldn't be here."
Andi's knees almost gave out because this was her mom. This was the woman she knew. She held on tight.
Finally, Delilah stepped back and was about to say something when she glanced over Andi's shoulder. "Marc? You're here. Thank you."
Andi felt her cheeks flush. But she didn't want anyone to notice or comment on it. "What's going on?"
She took her hand and squeezed it. "We need to go."
"Your house was broken into. You know that?"
Delilah nodded. "Which is why we need to leave."
"Did you call the police?"
"I have someone watching the place. Let's go and I'll tell you everything."
